    Very clever fix ... not better, but we have used "Pest Blocker" foam to fill gaps like those then after it cures you just saw or cut the excess off....

    They can be a pest that is for sure. Same with the wasp. Good ideas. Stay safe!

      I found a solution on u-tube to wasp by using 1 cup warm water + 1 tblspoon of dawn dishwashing + 10 - 15 drops of essence of mint in a sprayer bottle. spray the areas that you see wasp and repeat every 7 to 10 days in a month the wasp will be gone they do not like the odor of mint and will avoid the area. Then once a month repeat spraying and they will not come back It is not toxic and will not harm pets or people. I was skeptical at first but this does work. Also for birds we have ferns and a covered front porch .They were always trying to build nest. a ball of aluminum foil (shiny side out) placed in each fern keeps them out of and a strip of it under the porch keeps the birds away. Keep on Mowing...

    I had an RV port installed and had the installers cover all the high areas prone to bird nesting with aluminum flashing. Excellent idea thanks for sharing. There are some ledges I will need to address next. I am thinking about 2” thick foam cut on an angle and glued to the ledge so they have no level spot to build the nest on. A work in progress for sure with an open RV port.

      We have small stucco ledges that the birds have discovered this year. They pooped all over my porch decorations. So how did your idea work for you? Would appreciate any help. Thanks. 😊

    I just knocked the wasp nests out of my exhaust vents this morning. Nature is persistent!

      Hello , You are right nature never gives up . The wasp and bees can find the smallest opening and then build some of the biggest nest . Be Careful and Thanks for Watching .

    I'd buy mesh screen material, as close to the surrounding color that I could find online, cut to size and install.

    Try a blue plastic bag that you get from the grocery store see if that works.

    I'm trying to keep the birds from nesting under my barn flashing. They attract the rat snakes and then our horses don't want to come to barn when they sense snake.

    • @AskDaddyjoe
      @AskDaddyjoe  2 роки тому +2

      Good morning, snakes can be a problem once they find a food source, but removing the nest from under our carport has been effective this snake has not returned. Good luck with your barn and horses and Thanks for Watching.

    I don't have a problem with birds building nests on the sides of my carport.....looks like your carport is 2ft taller than mine. Birds won't build anything on mine because it's too close for humans to reach😁
