I travel.with a dog first aid kit..a must. Extra collar and leash, just in case one breaks. Ramp for getting in and out. Water. I live in a country where water is key. No hotels here take dogs. Lots of breaks. Hardest part for me is i raw feed only so i have to pre freeze some meals to keep their diet the same.
So i want to travel with my 90 kilo St and his little sister Golden retreiver. Thanks so much for this vid.

We have an old Navigator that would definitely work for 4 Labradors. Similar vehicles with a large cargo area are the Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Jeep Wagoneer, Suburban, and Ford Expedition, among others. I would definitely look for used vehicles because with that many big dogs, it's going to get dirty. 😊 Best of luck!! I'm sure you all get attention wherever you go! ❤️

Hi Stephanie! I am also a big dog mom. We also have a navigator but we may switch it. Do you have other makes/models of cars that you would recommend for a giant dog? I will also have 2 human babies by next year so also something that may fit car seats!
We have an Odyssey. Four kids in car seats and we used to fold down a few seats for our dogs, and the cat… even the bird or bunnies at times. Now our mastiff pup is about 120lbs and we are thinking a switch to the suburban…

Hey Ryan - this is such a terrific question! I thought about actually taking my camera to our local pet store to help with questions like this. There are just so many brands to choose from and, honestly, there's not that much that separates them. I would NOT recommend a "raw" infused kibble. That I feel like is a joke and marketing. If you are processing kibble, it's not raw. I DO recommend you pick a food that is formulated for large and giant breed puppies. There are MANY out there that will work. Here are two posts I wrote that will help you narrow this down. The first is about feeding a giant breed puppy (bigdogmom.com/feeding-giant-breed-puppies/), the second about raising a Mastiff puppy (bigdogmom.com/raising-a-mastiff-puppy/). What is the best car for two kids, Great Dane and another medium sized dog
You know, this is so hard to answer as every situation is different and we all have different tastes in vehicles. I will tell you we have been huge fans of Ford cars generally. We had a Ford Explorer for years and LOVED it! We hauled our Mastiff and labrador in that with plenty of room to spare. Unfortunately, the newer Explorers don't have a solid cargo space - it's a lightweight board with empty space underneath I believe - so it won't work for giant breed dogs. Our Navigator is perfect for big dogs, although I hate the look of the interior. We always buy used cars so we don't mind if the back end gets dirty and destroyed with slobber and hair. I will tell you that if you plan on doing any travel at all with your kids and your dogs, you will want a Twistep for underneath when your Dane gets older and can't jump up in the car (ideally sooner). Also, we really like to have the middle row of seats with a space in between like in our Navigator as this is much-needed space for bags, backpacks, dog supplies, etc. When the dogs are in the back, they hate having to lay with a bunch of bags and such. Hello Big dog Mama I lost my baby boy bigfoot Monday morning a week ago today he is the one I had the trouble with bloating but my vet said why he bloats up is because his stomach didn't work and half of his body was pretty much dead and been that way for four months due to the nerves in the spinal cord dyed off. He hasn't been able to walk since a day after Christmas and for the last week of his life he lost his ability to push out his bowel movement I would have to give him a enema to get him going and somehow it would get him working I could see that he could push it out some when I gave him the enema . he has been in declining health for a long time he had cancer and almost survived for three years he bloated up big a few days before he passed away and he aspirated into his lungs and got pneumonia again for the fourth time is what happened to him and my vet had him on antibiotics and albuterol to help him breathe it was the liquid albuterol but anyway he had a fever Sunday night and I was able to get it down and he was doing good I had sat up with him all the night and once his fever was down I just slept on the couch above his bed and I woke up a couple of hours later and I woke up and he was just looking at me so petyful like he was soaking in my image for memory so I got down and I was petting him and talking to him I offered him a drink of water but he turned his head and I was just laying there next to him talking to him and petting him and he just stopped breathing and I pat on him and spoke his name and he started breathing and he opened his eyes and look at me like a minute later he closed his eyes and stopped breathing and I spoke his name and shook him but he was gone Now I'm bawling my Eyes out now writing this.. bigfoot was a pit bull mixed and he was a hundred and six pounds and once he first got pneumonia he lost about all of his weight he only weighs sixty eight pounds at death I sure am attached to my dogs my little Arnold the beagle he is ten years old and he grew up with bigfoot being his older brother Little Arnold is grieving he has been going from room to room looking for him and he barely eats anything I know that Arnold know that he is dead because he was with me and bigfoot when he passed away and he smelled of his nose and then he slept next to him when I had him in his bed after I prepared him for burial I kept him up till Wednesday and had the burial Wednesday evening I ordered his casket and vault and I had to wait till it came I put him away good and I put his toys with him and Arnold was watching when I cranked the lid down for the last time and he got scared when I shut the lid I believe he thinks I was going to shut down the lid with him to but he is hanging right by me every step I go . Not enough words in the English language to describe how I feel giving up my baby it like a thousand bee stings to the heart it hurts so bigfoot and Arnold is all I have I'm getting older now and live alone. Oh, David, I'm so very sorry for your unbelievable loss. My heart is breaking for you and Arnold. What an absolute blessing those last hours were with Bigfoot! Your story has me bawling my eyes out. When I said goodbye to my Maya many years ago to bone cancer, I spent many hours on the floor sleeping next to her. Hearing your story brought back so many memories. These God-sent animals never live long enough and every moment with them is a blessing. You are a good man with a huge heart. Thank you for all you did for Bigfoot. He's running pain-free in Heaven now. 🙏🏻💔 We will be praying for you and Little Arnold.
@@BigDogMom thank you so very much big dog mom I'm crying now just reading your text oh lord I give anything in this world to have him back I'd give my house and vehicles and everything to have him back I don't know we're I'd live but I wouldn't care because I would be happy but as we know that it doesn't work that way.. bigfoot left a void in my heart and life that will never be filled he was so special everyone who knew me love him and Arnold . Little Arnold is lost without him he doesn't want to eat and he gets off by himself they were so close little Arnold was spoiled by bigfoot Arnold would go over there and lay down next to him and he would take his little paw and touch bigfoot on the face so that bigfoot would lick his face and ears Arnold would set there just as happy as he could be. Bigfoot was so smart he collected antique bottles he has a big collection on my front porch he has collected antique bottles for years but he hasn't been able to walk since Xmas and he hasn't collected any but to tell you how smart he was he would bring them in and he would go behind the porch swing he knows that they were out of the way there and he would take them back there and set them down upright just like a person would I thought about putting them in his casket with him at the foot of it but I didn't want to move them from were he put them and I thought I have to keep something to have that he had they will be there as long as I'm alive I really don't know what to do without him he and Arnold is my life they were with me before my daddy passed away he got to know them and they were here for me when he passed away ten years ago yesterday would have been his birthday my daddy.. even with all of bigfoot trouble with his health his attitude never did change he was always the same he had a very good mind no dementia or anything like that he was so generous with his kisses Everytime I went to bed I would kneel down to him and tell him I love him and he would give me the best kiss. I always carried him to bed with me he had a bed in my bedroom to and he had one in the living room next to the couch is were he passed away.. me and Arnold are just lost without bigfoot he was the big boss here the main cheese.. thanks so much for your comment it means so much to me
