This is also one of my goals... to get decent carrots... side note.. to save money on soil, throw plain cardboard, branches, compost, cut grass etc in the bed before you pour soil in. You could probably have gotten away with only using half of the soil you used..
We definitely did that with all the other raised beds, but I was hoping for looooong carrots so wanted it all to be loose soil! Hoping our fall crop will be bigger, we will see!
Your goals to grow carrots were same as ours. Still working to perfect that. Tomatoe end rot is next.
