Lake Eola Park is such a beautiful, serene park for relaxing walks and bird watching. Nice walk. For us Lataniamerican tourists, Miami/Orlando is as close to home as it can be, but Orlando downtown is not on our travel plans ever so its nice to see !
I went to a conference at Swan & Dolphin in March 2019, but we ventured out to Downtown Orlando on a Sunday morning to get a perspective of things outside of Disney World. We walked a similar path, except we started a little further down so that we could see the big soccer stadium and basketball arena from the outside. It was deserted in terms of foot traffic for most of Downtown, but that's to be expected for a Sunday morning. Lake Eola was the highlight of the Downtown area for us, and we liked how there was a Farmer's Market going on too -- that's why I perked up when I saw the same Farmer's Market still alive and active for you three years later! After we explored Downtown Orlando that day, we rented bicycles and rode them to Winter Park (an area someone else in the comments suggested exploring). There was a nice mix of trails most of the way there, and it gave us some nice views of all the lakes in Orlando and the nice houses on the way to Winter Park.
Loved living in Orlando! I left in 1993 when it was still growing. We just got the Magic and Mel Gibson and Danny Glover blew up our city hall....and Shaq did a rap video at my middle school...we hung out at the fashion square mall and church street..bought 45's and ringpops...walked by lake eola everyday to and from school..hung out at azalea and langford parks..learned how to swim in a lake with gators...those were the days.
Worth trying out our sunrail . Winter park Park Ave to Rollins college is a nice walk. Also our Sanford downtown is becoming revitalized. Both have sunrail stops (although Sanford would require taking trolley from sunrail station to the main st)
Hi Ken, this is pretty. One part I learned new about Orlando. We usually stay among the crowds... Glad to see your video now. I'm away from home. Staying in Kent,Washington for two weeks. My daughter has been driving me around to explore this side of The WestCoast... If you're ever in this area, go to Leavenworth. It's really nice.
Lake Eola Park is definitely and nice part of downtown. It takes me like 10-15 minutes to get there. There are pretty parts od downtown during the day but at night it gets scary and unsafe. Lake Eola is where most of us went during the pandemic to walk around to get exercise since everything was closed.

I know someone who has been considering moving to Orlando bcz of all the diversity, all the sights and attractions and the historical places, the conveniences and availability to so many things there, and it’s only about an hour drive to the beach but not directly a hurricane target lol. Orlando is such a nice city , got a bit NYC and Boston vibe nice. Wall street plaza must be rocking at night with all those bars . But the park was absolutely stunning with the palms trees surrounding the lake it's a birds paradise. 🐦 ...... what a veiw of the lake AK simply gorgeous 😍.

how walkable is Orlando in your opinion? Is a car required to move around? I know it's Florida and Florida as a states is very car dependent.
