Thank you Mark. I hope you will eventually add some Amazon affiliate links, ESPECIALLY for this video! I plan on buying a Python hook and that Eco Plus 396 pump in a couple of months... would love to show you some support 👍
Thank you for the tutorial on how you process your H2O changes . Like a very wise man , who has been steadily improving & moving to get to this version of dilution is the only solution to the necessary pollution in order to keep the Shrimps a growing, in order to have the profits a flowing which is why they're not given away but he always hooks us up and when they arrive looking like the prettiest damn things you've ever seen .... Well that's not a coincidence , that's cuz Mr. Shelley's tanks are filthy clean 💚
Looks like I been doing it right all these years😁 we change water pretty much the exact same way. I have 25 tanks 6 are 10 g the rest are 20gal and up too. I don’t have the pump though I just use the siphon . I will need to sponge the intake of the siphon when I get my shrimp🎉 getting closer everyday thanks mark! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I used to do it all with 1 python hose when I had almost all guppy tanks, had less tanks, but did 80 to 90% water changes. Water bill didn't like it and water changes too 10 to 12 hours lol. Using pump and hose and mainly python sink attachment just for filling other than the 20g longs speeds it up and uses a lot less water. Have been debating getting some 1 or 2 inch hoses and just siphon tanks out, well ones that are high enough anyways.
Mark Shelly Aquatics I don’t use a python, just old school siphon, I’m a dinasour lol😂 I do have a nice utility sink in the basement room carrying 5 gallon buckets down the stairs got old real quick!! I fill my tanks with a garden hose right from the sink, after seeing this video, you have helped again, I’m gonna drain right into the sink and save me some bucket hauling. Your a big inspiration brother, and are very appreciated🙂👍🏻💯
Glad it helped you out man. I've tried many different iterations of my water change routine and have been doing it like this for probably a couple years now. Really saves lots of time. Back on the days of just having a tank or 2 I siphoned out with a garden house outside and hooked same garden hose to sink. Started out with gallon pitchers years and years ago lol.
Yeah, I try to get temps as even as possible, I been doing it a lot for a long time, I have a pretty good feel for what 70 to 72 degree water feels like and just do it by feel and experience. I have a big very nice water heater to almost always has no trouble keeping up, there are a few times when its really cold and my water coming in cools off a little bit by the end and gotta bump up the hot water input a tad. But its cold full blast and just a trickle of hot to make the right temp.
does the python come with an adapter for kitchen sinks that have a pull down hose with aerator? I think it's a 3/8" male adapter that I need, looks like I need to go to the plumbing supply place or something lol
Yeah they come with adapters, but if you have a weird or unique faucet you may have to find your own adapter. The python attachment will hook on to any standard garden hose bib. Pretty sure it is 3/8.
Can you show us all the parts you use for your water changes? I bought an eco plus 396 pump and a python hook today, but need to know what kind of hoses, the part that cause a Venturi effect and your disconnects.
That will come with a python water change system as far as the part that goes on your sink. I have the pump attached to hook with vinyl tubing that I heated up and stretched out and a hose clamp. I also have 2 hooks because they way I have pump attached to hook you wouldnt want to fill with pump attached. Ive had cheap pumps bust open trying to fill by flowing water backwards through pump lol. So if you wanna use just 1 hook then you need to figure out a better way to attach pump to hook so its easy to take on and off.
They are like 4 or 5 year old aquaneat 250gph. They dont make that exact model anymore, when they discontinued them they were clearanced out on amazon for like 8 bucks lol. Bought tons of them. The first batch I bought was best some of those are still going, but the 2nd batch I bought as backups started going into use they were garbage.
hey Mark just a question how to deal with bad tank my shrimp tank was good but these days shrimp are not that active eating less and occasionally i have a dead shrimp like one every two days nothing changed in the routine and didn't add anything what would you do in this situation (don't have test kit) thanks in advance .
I would try doing a tank reset, I would also get some cheap test strips so then you can at least get some kind of idea. If there is something totally out of whack that could tell you. Make sure your water change regimen is the same.
I haven't tested kh gh in years, but I did recently test my tds and it was a bit lower. Tds is 220 to 230 out of tap. Kh was 10+ and gh 20+ years ago. Tds used to be 250 to 260 years ago. Was just wanting to get a baseline of my tanks to see if they varied. They were all 250 to 260. So out of tap recently was 220s and tanks were 250s.
@@MarkShellyAquatics thank you for that information. It seems like I knew that when I was young and working the slurry department at a Ceramics factory, but it’s true. If you don’t use it, you lose it.
My set up is 8 NOT 6 as in my last comment of 10s 1-20h 6-20L 2-29g 3- 40B 1-55g and 4- 75gallons. I never planned on a fishroom it just kinda grew into one🙂
Lol, that how it seems to go, especially when you're trying to breed stuff. Each thing gets its own tank and then BAM you got over 1000 gallons of water in your house lol.
Thanks for showing your water change routine, I learnt me something and had to watch it again! 😎👍
Keep in mind my way only works because I have a solid stable water source, everyone has different tap water.

Watching video and washing dishes. Cleaned your tanks before I even finished my dishes lol
Lol. Thanks for watching Viola 👋😁👍
Thanks for sharing I watched from start to finish :)
It was a longer one lol
Thanks bud 👍😁👋
Both of you guys videos I watch start to finish , I can’t not watch them all! Can’t get enough of the awesome shrimp!

Thanks for sharing. Question: when filling back up, you just feel the water tempter? And how does is stay the same temp when refilling?
Yeah, I try to get temps as even as possible, I been doing it a lot for a long time, I have a pretty good feel for what 70 to 72 degree water feels like and just do it by feel and experience. hey Mark
just a question
how to deal with bad tank
my shrimp tank was good but these days shrimp are not that active
eating less and occasionally i have a dead shrimp like one every two days
nothing changed in the routine and didn't add anything
what would you do in this situation
(don't have test kit)
thanks in advance .

What is the KH/GH/TDS coming out of your TAP?
I haven't tested kh gh in years, but I did recently test my tds and it was a bit lower. Tds is 220 to 230 out of tap. Kh was 10+ and gh 20+ years ago. Tds used to be 250 to 260 years ago. What causes the suction on the python without the pump? Is the sink causing it?
Yeah, when you run the sink it causes a venturi that makes suction on the hose.
@@MarkShellyAquatics thank you for that information. It seems like I knew that when I was young and working the slurry department at a Ceramics factory, but it’s true. If you don’t use it, you lose it.
How often do you do gravel vac?
Pretty much never. The plants love it.
