Underrated is an understatement. The more I think about it, this is one of the 3 animes I can confidently rate 10/10. Other 2 is Tatami Galaxy / Future Boy Conan.
It's so fun to see Vino, the invincible Railtracer, the greatest assassin in the world, and this anime's most invincible badass as confused and vulnerable on the field of love. It's also fun to see Rachel cautiously and uncomfortably adjust from seeing him as a killing machine to a regular human being with problems.
@@bluebro7201 He got his ass kick hard by Vino though, and never get revenge, while Vino beat anyone he face till and of the series and died of old age (even when he was old, he still kick many immortal asses)
Love this scene - smart of Vino to go to one of the sanest characters in the series for romantic advice (even if his method of romancing isn't all that refined). Rachel is adorable at 1:34
+Samuel Savary Sarcastic women like Rachel and stoic women like Chane remind me just how short of special the omnipresent majority of today's same aged women are.
Chad Rail Tracer >Enters the series >Tortures an immortal kid and gave him trauma >beats lad and forced him to die >confessed his love and got a beautiful strong girl >leaves
Rachel? He didn't really try to kill Rachel. He did troll her by catching her stowing away clinging to the outside of a moving train, asking her for her ticket while completely soaked in human blood. 😂
Vino: "That girl is even more abnormal than you." Rachel: "...the first thing you should do is fix that insensibility of yours." Vino: "Eh?" *Clueless look* Me: *FACEPALM*
I love this anime because it did such a perfect job of making me completely scared of/horrified by Claire and making me think he's friendly and cute at the same time. I have such a confused emotional reaction to his scenes and I think that makes his character more real, because people in real life aren't simple.
This show is wrote by same author of Durarara, Ryohgo Narita. Interestingly, there are so many ships in this show. Isaac-Miria Ladd-Lua Firo-Ennis Claire-Chane Jacuzzi-Nice Gretto-Sylvie
I had sort of started to like Vino against my will before this scene, and then I saw this scene and it's like all the bits where he turned people into splatters never happened. It's weird how someone so monstrously scary can also be so freaking adorable.
@Fizzybubblespop I totally LOVE Vino. He's just a terrifyingly interesting character. I love what a normal guy he is, despite being a monster when he get's on a train. He's a sociopath, and yet when Chane is involved, he becomes so human, you can't help but root for him
The whole series can be watched on both Hulu and UA-cam. Funimation has an account and they've posted both the subs and dubs in their full glory! (Be aware that they do have 30 second ads on youtube, though).
Dunno if it's the best B! scene, but it's definitely classic Claire. Of course, when you find out that Chane DID marry him, and they had at least one child, it's even funnier. As for the time thing... well, I don't know how long it took him to convince Chane, but he didn't have to wait nearly as long as Firo did for Ennis (they don't say I do until 2002)!
I watched the entire three minutes of this, not realising it wasn't the full episode. And now I feel like watching Baccano. *Still has to watch 1-12 of Durarara e.e*
At the beginning of the video song thingy.. you know the music begins.. they are the first one that appears, and their characters as well.. not by chronological order.. but who they mention first at the beginnings in sort of the credits.. or something.. -_- I cannot explain myself.. sorry.
Masaomi Kida Not really. He was just a sociopathe who wants to kill immortal people because he don't like those who believe to be untouchable and enjoy make them falling. claire was, in on other way, more unique. I think his way of seeing the world, believing that he's a god because they are no prove that if he dies, the world will continue to exist, and then believing that he's a god, only dreaming and that everything around him is only an illusion from his own mind was more interesting. Thinking about it it's interesting. Because, somehow, he's right and he is saying it by himself : you could try but nothing that you would say can convince him he is wrong. And that's true. If we think about it, what is life ? What is the world ? What happens after death ? How can we know that we really exist ? You can believe that it's common sense but not at all. Some people believe that the world was create by some god. other because of an explosion called Big Bang but we don't really know. We have only some faith, according for what we believe we can find the truth. No wonder that philosopher of all times thought about this question, never reaching the same conclusion. And so, what we can believe is just some random crazy stuff is in fact pretty depp and not as dumb as that. The opinion of Claire about the world is an interesting point of view, really clever and somehow realistic. He only think about the world in an another way from others, who makes him crazy. but in the end, who knows. What he is saying is not dumber than our own opinion about existence. and in each situation, Claire seems really clever, only looking in another perspective than the majority of us. Try to understand what he says, from his point of view, and you see that's not stupid or crazy.
99% of the time the sub is better than the dub however Baccano! and Cowboy Bebop are the 2 rare cases I've ever come across in anime where the English dub is 100% better than the Japanese version.
I don't know, the "Ticket please" or him just telling the story of the rail tracer and that reveal might be better than that....or any monologue by Graham...so many hard choices for best scene, which is partially what makes Baccano such a good anime
@sparrowchi Oh, I know that. I just finished reading the Grand Punk Railroad novels, in fact, which are very pointed about his intentions to protect the passengers (except for that one point when he really *does* get carried away in torturing Czes). I just like people better when they're not killing people. Is that so much to ask? (It sure is in this series! XD)
@hiblinist916 Can you tell me where you watched the english dub because I wanted to watch it but I could only find the Japanese, which was still pretty damn cool.
@francisosorio243 not only fights. Mystery, romance (sort of), comedy (Isaa and Miria are hilarious) and fantasy (A cure-all elixir). All of this is compiled into a very complex story centering around quite a few people. each storyline is seperate yet is interwoven with te others in some fashion.
@dudex33 How many English dubs have you listened to? You apparently at least missed out on Cowboy Bebop, which I think may be one of the most agreed upon best English dubs in existence. Some others favorites of mine: Fruits Basket (despite the grammatical error-filled script), Fullmetal Alchemist, Big Windup!, and His and Her Circumstances. I'm not saying any of them are necessarily better than the Japanese language tracks, but Baccano is NOT the only good dub out there.
@SoundGraffiti NOTE: He didn't kill random people, just the people endangering his customers. Czes is no exception. Remember what he said? "Please kill all of the people in the dining car!"

Just some movies (with real people). However I may disagree with your statement, at least partially. Yes, what people like the most about the show doesn't need speaking or at least doesn't need to be in a certain language. But the speech also brings enjoyment for the viewer. @iamnuff1992 theyre in new york... why italian? cuz its italian mafia? that logic doesnt make the most sense, that would mean every one of the people in the gang had to be from italy, but that obviously not the case

I love this scene. Claire has awful table manners XD but he's so cute when he blushes.
In the light novel; it's revealed that if Claire didn't meet Chane in the train, he would've fallen for Rachel instead.
Truthfully, my favorite scene for Vino is right after this one where he reveals how he found out where his darling Chane was....ROFLMAO.
This is why I love the rail tracer. He's so unique.

there's only like one, and its a first kiss between a couple that's been together for 10 years.
Regardless of my personal opinion, I posted this clip before the dub was released.
thing i though was funny about this scene is almost the entire time Rachel is staring at the fork Vino is holding.
i was laughing too honestly its just so random i had to watch it like 8 times

The english dubbed versions make the whole series sound like an abridged series or a parody lmao. Subs FTW
it's amazing how both of them are able to eat after all the things they saw on the train o_O

Even when I first saw this one, why did Vino's eyes turn from red to yellow like that? Maybe a animation error?
It’s an animation error. He accidentally stole Rachel’s eye color for that shot
They're the Baccano OVAs xD
Can't argue with the guy's logic...
if this was the best Baccano scene ever, I'd have never watched the series.
cutetreehugger.......... I agree with you completely.

@boondockfan5 Only because in english you don't get the "Neee, Isaac-kuun~"

or was it in one of the three OVA episodes?
gahh, so confused
that was a fun moment i agree but this is the best scene apparently in the eyes of a vino fangirl :P
I love that part! um
I dont' mean to be rude but I laughed so hard at that part! I wasn't expecting him to scream like that for so long.
I Agree!! Best scene in Baccano!! :D
i think this scene is mor fun after spending the whole rest of the series with the ridiculouse insane vino
Its really weird to watch this subbed. What is with all these American's speaking Japanese eh? :P
But, for this show, the dub is better
Like the Cowboy Bebop dub.
