About 19 or 20 years ago I put together a GPS tracking shock force recording package for some sensitive commercial material. I was able to show the tracking along with shock forces displayed on the google map. This was right before the smart phone era. You would not believe how expensive it was to do at that time. Now anyone can do it easily without corporate support.
This seems like a good idea for a vehicle tracker. But how do you connect it to your car battery or ignition that is 12v? Do you connect a 5v usb cable to one of the programming ports? Or do you need to make a voltage regulator at 3.3v-4.2v to the VBAT pin? Thanks for the great work and video
Waiting for my hardware to try this. I obtained my SIMs from Hologram here in U.S. Many years ago, I did the same thing with Intel 8052 and assembly language.
Thanks for this great tutorial, may you do one where once the vehicle is moved or stolen than the module sends you and alert to which you can start tracking the vehicle.
Can it work with live location means if we get the location through sms and we go out to find the device and at that time if the device moved to another location then can the previously sent link location updates automatically or we've to request new location

how about sending the sending the location to a website to show on google maps can you do that ser? i really need help
you'll need to set up an api of your own (say in nodejs or Azure/AWS) then integrate it with the google maps api
How to buy M2M sim card ?
If you are in US, then T-Mobil is the best to work with. A SIM is $10 and $25 month for unlimited SMS.
