They keep bringing the chicken big mac back in the UK, and everyone seems to agree it tastes awful. I suspect they bring it back whenever there's an overstock of Saver chicken patties (not sure what they're called in the US, but they're the cheapest value chicken burger here). Something about the chicken just seems to completely drain all the flavour from the big mac sauce. I also worked in McDonalds for a few months after University while waiting for a career opening, and they released the chicken big mac for the first time during my time there. Let me just say, these things are AWFUL on the kitchen staff. The chicken vat trays can hold at most 12 per basket, which while this sounds like a lot, 6 big macs is nothing! Remember people were ordering this in place of the beef big mac, so while the grill was basically having a holiday, the chicken station had to cook those 12 patties, and all the other regular chicken things like nuggets, chicken selects, and the other chicken burgers McDonalds offer here. Typically our vats would have 6 slots - 1 was reserved for vegetarian options, one for the fish filet, leaving 4 for chicken. We almost always had 2 vats in use for chicken nuggets, and then one for chicken sandwiches / selects / legends, leaving MAYBE one vat for the savers. It was simply impossible some time to keep up, you'd have a full vat as managers had a meltdown because there was a queue on 10 chicken big macs. I'm still stressed out while thinking about it years after leaving McDonalds! It was horrendous! Stock was also a huge issue - chicken patties come in large boxes, they're far less space efficient than the beef patties, so it was always a real hassle to fit it all into the cold-rooms. Basically, there's a reason why McDonalds has the menu it has - their restaurants are perfectly optimized for the menu they run in every way, you might not realise it but every detail is pretty much perfectly attuned for the smoothest operation of that very streamlined menu. When some bigwig executive at corporate HQ, you just know the collective thousands of franchise owners are sighing in pain because for the next few weeks, their restaurant is going to go through hell!
I'm always disappointed with McDonald's. I don't go there anymore. To me, it's not just the juvenile taste, but the food looks bad too...the one you made looks VERY edible!😎
I used to get McDonald's multiple times a week, and was a big fan. I've almost stopped eating there. Your meal looked terrible, from the skimpy order of fries, to the seasonless patties. No thanks. Your version with the MSG looked much more appealing.
Your bibigo burger looked so much better. Honestly McD's just is so pricey and yet bland these days. They ruined the original Big Mac which used to be a delight to eat and which now tastes totally artificial and processed. I knew that if the OG Big Mac was ruined, how could a chicken version be anything but cardboard on a bun.
Didn't you say you were disappointed with their $5 meal? I was really tempted but I've only liked the Big Mac. And the fish file a long long time ago. I wish they had just created a new burger making The Chicken Big Mac it's own thing. They could have done that. Ugh. Maybe not since it was already a thing. Wish they had though. Weirdly I want a regular Big Mac now!
@@xetaprime omg, the whole line of Quarter Pounders is pulled due to possible listeria contamination. And I enjoyed it so much, I hope I don't get sick.
No thanks on a chicken sandwich from McDonald’s I had it once that’s all it took. Today we made big burgers with potato buns and toasted the buns , with potato chips I truly enjoyed my burger. Thanks for reminding me not to get the chicken burger.😊

Holy Cow! what a story! D'Ohhh!!! 😬
😅 and this is why I enjoy all your videos, especially the ones made when they are under the influence of wine for stupefied purposes
Hey Samantha! Awe Thank You LOL! I have a full bottle of wine that's way over due for drinking! ;)
The emotion is so visceral
How could they do THAT! :)

I went to McDonald's a lot in the 80s and 90s. Practically never since. But UA-cam, possesses your soul and makes you go to McDonald's!
@@xetaprime HAHAHA HAHAHA 🤣
this is a decent sandwich but like so many sandwiches, too high price. MACS need better bread, like a good potato bun maybe.
Now I'm curious how a potato bun might change the taste :)
First comment again! lol I agree, the chicken Big Mac will be short lived and no-one will be pining for it after its gone.
Sigh. I would love to have seen their testing group! I really don't get it (baffled emoji)

I long for yesteryear when Fast Food was new and exciting! It just isn't the same anymore :(

@@xetaprime Try the double quarter pounder. It's really quite good. I almost couldn't eat it all. Almost 🤣
@@TuckerSP2011 I will! I'm so easily influenced :)

NOOOOO!!!! Oh I hope so too Tucker. Boar's Head, salads, waffles, McDonald's? What the heck-arooni is going on?! UGH!

Potato buns! LOL! I don't think I've ever had a burger on a potato bun. Why? Just why? :)
