Bane has always been good but he has a lot of nearly unwinnable matchups (sinestro because of trait, batman because of the double hit projectiles, supes is always hard because the armor breaking stuff, zatanna's zoning, batgirl's multihit wakeups and etc.)

wow, smoke and mirrors is actually really underrated. really haven't seen anyone but dark fire use it properly without the typical whiff normal mixup setup with it. Using it while on trait is ridiculous!

I don't understand why people in this tournament literally just let people beat them. Zatanna easily has a million opportunities to attack yet he just teleports and does rings? I don't get it...

When bane has his venom on, she would want to run away because she has very few strings quick enough to break the armor. When bane is on de buff is when she should go in, but you'll often see zatanna run away then too because her zoning is more effective when he has no venom. Zatanna is kinda universal though.. This guy just felt he had a better chance in this match up by staying as far away as possible and zoning (which is a tough strategy to argue with when you're going up against bane haha)

Zatana’s a toxic fucking character in this game. Teleport, zone, teleport, zone. If you can’t handle the opponent up close, then the fight’s forfeit, you are fucking DONE. Zoning takes the thrill out of a fight, and I’m not wrong, ban it already

Zoning is a strategy as well, same as intense rush combat, as long as you get the job done

@@gemugaming They’re not the same, actual pressure is making your opponent block while you throw attacks and doing mix-ups to throw off their defense, zoning is just keeping the opponent away to basically stall the fight in your favor. Yes, it’s a strategy, but you’re no longer playing the game at that point. While my way on how I see zoning has somewhat slightly changed over the years, it still isn’t something anyone should really do if you can throw a punch in-game. Plus, zoners should be more of a mix-up gimmick than a projectile gimmick, that would genuinely make me want to have more zoners if there’s some sort of pressure involved as long as it’s mid to close range and doesn’t stall a fight in the slightest, that’s when you can really justify a zoner, JP from Street Fighter 6 is a great example of this, almost fazing out of the word zoner into a genuine mix-up/pressure-based character.
