  • Two friends take a much-needed trip to the Grand Cascapedia in pursuit of atlantic salmon, the King of Sportfish. The Cascapedia flows out of the Chic Choc mountains on the Gaspe Peninsula and is the best atlantic salmon river in North America. It also has one of the richest histories in the sport, and has hosted angling luminaries on its banks for more than 150 years, anglers who come for the chance to land one of the river's forty or fifty pound fish. Today, there are still five private camps on the river and angling is run through the Cascapedia Societe, an organization which manages the river on behalf of the camps and the local community. I've been fortunate to fish this river many times over the last ten years and it is a truly special place, with terrific fishing and wonderful people.
A big thank you to the Cascapedia Societe, guides David Bishop, Perry Coull, Zach Legree, and the one-of-a-kind Tommy MacWhirter.
