Hi Question, I noticed the metal plate that covers the finals is not on other unboxing/tuning videos on UA-cam. Was that something that only came on certain versions of the radio or perhaps the first batch of the 39VHP? Thanks!
That is a sweet radio. You are right about the sideband. That would have been a walk off home run.

All of the ones I have has that shield. But I bought my cases right when they came out.
