Halle's content gives me the same energy as independent movies, where there's not necessarily a plot, but you're following the life of a character and it captures beautiful but simple, or many mundane moments... so obsessed with her way of capturing life

Halle, you are supposed to cook it for about 15 mins with the lid on and then more time until it becomes golden brown with the lid off. The reason you cook it in a closed dutch oven is to simulate the steam setting you get from a commercial oven which lets the dough spring without the crust forming. The crust comes when you cook without the lid on.
Also you need to let the dough rise a second time in a formed loaf in a banneton in the finished shape, the reason it was flat is because you degassed it alot when forming and getting it out of the bowl.
Also your dough looked very dry, you want it to be tacky so that it is difficult to handle with dry hands, but if you wet your hands it doesn't stick. The wetter a dough the bubblier and airier it will be.
Also make sure you are dropping it into a hot preheated dutch oven. You might want to use a cheap DE razor blade to score for better results.
Not a bad first try tho 👍

Halle you should look into converting your wet sourdough starter into a dry one. You don't have to feed it everyday which is less wasteful if you're not baking daily. Also you need a second rising period after shaping, and preheating your Dutch oven will help. Lastly wait for the bread to cool before cutting it. If you cut it right away it will get gummy. Happy baking!!

Maybe it's okay to not be okay 🙂
I don't think we give ourselves enough space to just feel whatever it is we are feeling, including the bad. And that is especially true when you're on your period -- when it feels like the whole world is crashing down and you can't do anything but watch it burn.
But maybe... that's okay? Maybe we don't need to fix everything, all the time.
I am challenging myself lately (and especially during that time of the month) to not be so hard on myself for having negative or sad feelings/thoughts.
To just acknowledge them and then... let them go 🦋
Thank you for being so real Xx

Really good for your first loaf of bread!! Here are some things I found out through some trial and error:
    - put the durch oven in the oven while its preheating (oil the sides)
    - take the lid off for the last 10 mins so the top of the bread gets all crunchy
    - let bread cool completely (abt 45 mins) before cutting into it (makes for a fluffier inside :)
    - making bread is very scientific and exact measurements are needed
*Some recipies also require you to knead the dough
also i love your videos and always fond inspiration and joy in the little things of them :)

it's crazy how people who get their period pretty much have always got something going on, so many changes in the short span of 30 days yet a lot of times we don't even take it into consideration even though our mood, our energy levels, our appetite, our discomfort, our cognitive skills soooo much can be explained by that cycle... Lately, for the past few months i've been feeling really sad and unmotivated during those days leading up to my period and everything feels 10x harder to deal with. I've come to realise during those days i'm extra unkind to myself as well, what with feeling like shit and hardly being able to get by. But it's those moments that we need to be super extra kind and caring to ourselves :) instead of pushing more and trying more let's instead do less and rest for a bit, give our body and our mind what we actually need. That being said...sometimes we need to force ourselves to do things that we know will make us feel better like exercise or prepare a nice meal or tidy around and it takes a little effort but it's worth it because we're doing it for us. Show lots of love to yourself especially on those days. And although it's good to know that hormonal changes can affect how we feel and think, it's also important to know those feelings and thoughts are valid, we shouldn't downplay them in any way but we should still honor them for what they are, understand why they're dysfunctional and work through them ❤️
