- Looking for simple ways to clean a headphone jack? You have come to the right place. Try these 3 easy ways to clean your headphone jack and drop us a line if it helped!
Air Can - Spray the air can three or four times into the headphone jack hole.
Q tip - Next thing I like to do is put a Q-tip in there gently. You'll see it's all fit in there and gently take that out and this should clean out most headphone jacks.
Paperclip Lint Roller - First, get a normal paper clip and a tiny piece of tape. (This method is a little more advanced, so be careful) Take a little strip of tape and put it on the bent out paper clip backwards, sticky side up, so it almost becomes like a little lint roller. Make sure it's secure and gently push the tape covered paperclip into the headphone jack. This should pull out whatever is remaining in there.

This is my first time commenting on a youtube video: I just wanted you to know your tape+paperclip suggestion solved my issue. There were compacted fibers (such as paper/laundry lint type) that got removed after a number of rounds of clearouts.
thank you!!!!
Have you commented more there after.....?
The lint roller trick work. Took out a lot of lint and my phone got unstuck from headphone mode. Thanks!
What is that trick?
couldnt listen to this because my headphone jack's blocked
Rory Noble same don't know what to do

When doing the tape trick, start by wrapping it with sicky side touching the paper clip. Then fold and reverse rolling direction leaving sticky side facing out. Otherwise it can fall off in the phone, you can see in the video the tape is sliding off. Also turn off phone before sticking metal into it.
didn t work on my iphone7

How is that funny?
Jacob Owen cause there Isn’t a headphone jack on the iPhone 7...
Thank you it works I used to hear scratchy noises but now I could hear it clearly
Didnt work for me.. must have patched it already
Downgrade the operating system
working fine with my cfw 4.84
Hahaha
Thank you for your upload. I do not possess a can filled with pressured air.
Thank you. I was all set to give up on my Blackberry until seeing this video. In the end it was the tape/paperclip method that did the trick. Thanks again!
Oh
@@MadTy did it work?
@@siddhantmore6999 yup
@@MadTy it worked for me too 👍
10yrs ago and still valuable. Thank you
toothpick wrapped with tape worked like a charm...sound is crystal clear now...thanx so much !
Its from 11 years ago. Still it helped me today. Much appreciated mann ❤️
You've just saved me from a music-less train journey. Thanks!
Oh wow! A train journey?
Sounds Great :)
THANK YOU! I just went to a LONG process of getting replacements for a pair of expensive headphones, and all I needed to do was clean the jack on my phone. LOL
Idiot
i know this isn't the point, but i'm obsessed and in love with this guy's hands.
Nicest DIY hands on UA-cam.
aahh dude thank you so much i was about to send my phone in for repairs but show this, and it worked thanks alot man
Helping me out all the way in 2020. Thank you.
this video was very helpful to me. I thought the headphone jack on my iphone was completly broken until I watched this and tried the paperclip thing. It works perfectly now! thanks!!
Thank you. That last tip was the only thing that worked for me. Next step was Apple Store after trying no less than a dozen other methodsThanks!!
the qtip thing did work indeed and my left side of my headphone couldnt be heard before and now i can hear it. love this video
Thank you I did that and my headphones work good now there's no static now I don't have to repair them I just have to repair my screen
11 years and 9 months it works bro u the best bro was going to buy another headphone but you saved me
The toothpick I used worked miracles. I couldnt fit any headphone jacks inside my Itouch and sure enough it was just full of lint. Once I took all the debris out it was mad clean.
Followed this, more or less. Was getting sound in, but no sound out, on a plugin receiver I use to keep the phone away from my ear. (I'm sceptical about opinions that it is harmless having a transmitter capable of transmitting to a tower a kilometre away; jammed next to your brain).
It's working again now. Good vid.
Thank you soooo much!!! I would recommend this to anyone and this isn't just iPod jacks any phone with the same size jack will work, but thanks again for the video
I did the q-tip and it's crispy clear sound now👍
thanks the paperclip thing worked for me the best
THANK YOU SO MUCH DUDE MY HEADPHONES WORK NOW OMG
Edit: i dont recommend the air can thing but the q tip option works best
Yea the qtup worked for me to
thnx for the tape idea
This video is great, my phone stopped playing music but was ringing ok. I watched this video and when I went back to my phone it was already working, Good work guys.
Just doing the compressed air fixed my GS3's issue. It thought headphones were plugged in when there weren't any plugged in (so I couldn't hear phone calls unless I used headphones). The compressed air fixed it.
The paperclip and tape tip worked for me!!Happy that i don't need to buy a new phone ✌🏼😗
My Bose desktop speaker headphone jack quit working properly, sometimes it'd work okay, other times I'd only get mono sound or only getting one speaker working. Blew inside of it & rolled a piece of paper towel up about size of q-tip & spun it around same direction I rolled it (as to not unwind it) & there was a tiny bit of dust some shiny (metal?) came out. Working fine now! :D
I some how got a little tiny bead stuck in there, it fits in there perfectly and I can't get it out, how do I remove it ?
KRIAK2233 same i have like a hand towel ( kinda like toilet paper but it is for hands)
Thx so much for your help my parents and I are going on a long trip and I could not get my head phones into my phone so I was doomed so thx
Thanks bro, I think the tape and paperclip trick worked. It seems to be working now so there must have been some dust or something stuck.
Thank you! This saved me a bunch of money!
Worked for me after a few attempts.Tried qtip, qtip with rubbing alcohol, and paper clip with the tape backwards.
Is any liquid on the qtip ok? My jack has chocolate in it. (Emergency m&ms on a hot day within purse cause problems...)
Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) should be fine, but don't use water or oil. Probably best to turn the phone off before, just as a precaution
Alpha 2007 yes. at first it didn't work because it needed to dry out. it was fine the next day.
That is exactly why I'm searching myself! Haha amazing we must be synchronicity twins
I even remember it was a twix bar for me
Can I pour boiling hot water into into the jetport that Jack port I don't know what they call it the Jack the port for the jack I Don't know Jack about no plug holes all I know is I got chocolate inside my Alcatel inside the jackal
@GoGazelle i done it turned out it was just a load of fluff stuck in the jack thanks for helping.
I can now hear my phone again without using headphones, thank-you! :)
Is this a Sarcastic response?
Ha millie Bobbie brown?
@Philosopher Cat so?
@Philosopher Cat I've seen 13-14 yr-old comments replying people. One of those, being me!
paper clip method worked perfectly thanks mate.
thanks man.. the q-tip one worked fine
The first one worked for me thanks
The paper clip trick worked like a charm :)
it does help. thank you!
An ant crawled into my headphone jack, does anyone know how to get it out ? I'm serious about this btw.
Well I'm guessing it's dead now..., so use any of these methods?
Miranda Lowks no but I think that happened to me too😅😅😅
Put a sugar near your phone place it on the table for 5 seconds... dont touch it, it should come out easily.
Furious Gaming After 2 years the ant will be dead 100%.. Or meanwhile he got a new phone.. :D
@@Zisch4Bumm haha
Does it work on androids to?
thanks, it really worked! I tried the tape method and I guess the dust from my pockets/bag got in there but the tape took it out
It actually works thank you
Used Q tips and hand sanitizer to clean the jack...now working like ka charm.. Earlier the earphones would just pop out or volume would suddenly blast up. Now it's working fine ...
I have a tiny rock in my head phone jack. Tried multiple things but it won't get out. It's wedged in pretty far. Any suggestions to getting it out would be much appreciated.
me too,how to remove it
it cAn be broken with force but fearing that it will damage jack
Kyle Turner same
Use lube
Yeet needle
none of em worked howver i tried with a bare paper clip end , and easily took off the dirt. working properly now . thanks!
@GoGazelle no, you should superglue a small dab from the left over metal to a paper clip. but make sure not to pour glue onto the jack itself.
zomg the q-tip thing worked!
Worked like a charm.
use the end of an earing.. worked for me!
Thank you!
My q-tip wouldn't fit. I pulled off the white cotton and carefully inserted small stringy strand holding onto larger end. Delicately rotated around and took out. Now my other side is working. - Thank you for the idea.
Problem: can't hear because headphone jack is broken
you're profile pic tho..... ;)

This is fine just tell the viewers to switch off the phone or device before putting any kind of wire inside, for example that paperclip. It could damage the phone and or jack.
Sir , if something is inserted in earplug hole because of my negligence so what should i do to clear the track ..... sugest me something sir i not able to use my earplugs 🙏 ... waiting for your reply .......
that just happened to me. what i did was let the chocolate dry, break it with a pin or something similar, then use a tissue or something similar to clean it as best you can. i still have a bit of something stuck in the headphone jack but works normally anyway with or without earphones
So I dropped my phone in the toilet, and amazingly, everything worked except it was stuck on headphone mode because there was something inside of it, I used a q- tip, and now I can here out of regular volume just fine, thank you so much!
for a time my headphones wouldn't play music loudly, but using this it helped I believe.
Thanks bro it really worked 😁😉
DAMN it!!! The tape got stuck 😨😱😰😩😥😵
Thanks feller, this was driving me nuts
Thx. It really works
use a needle and double tape instead.. i did managed to get piece of paper out of my audio jack.. awesomee ^_^
this worked amazing :D
thank you you just saved my life
I felt hopeless until the very end of your video. When I saw the tape trick, I knew it was my last hope. I tried it, and as soon as I got done it worked. I just want you to know you're one amazing man. Thank you.
I got fucking paper in it, me being the person I am. I try using my headphones to take it out... It shoved it down in there.-_-
I did exactly the same thing

Thanks it worked but scince i have an iphone 5 i needed to pull off some of the cotton but my beats were making static noises
Using a Qtip and some tape is a bad idea. The Qtip will lose some cotton inside the socket, and as it's bigger than the hole, you'll have to force to make it enter, so it might damage the connectors on the borders. using tape induce the risk of it breaking and leaving some parts stuck on the connectors.
Use a needle or the end of a paperclip instead, and scrap the lower part of the socket until the dust goes off. do it with some light towards the socket to see what you're doing.

Thanks for the idea
Does it work with computer.
Thanks! It is really helpful.
Thanks for sharing, works perfectly!
Thanks alot brother 🙏❤,there was a cotton particle in it
Thanks heaps dude! Fixed my problem!!
@jackransell I learned to just use an air spray and spray it out to clear it. Took mine to Appe store and the guy said there was a fraction of an inch of dust in my jack.
This video helped alotttt
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! I was dealing with the jack situation for a very long while, and I forgot about the amazing internet ans youtube educational videos. I removed a nice little debris causing my headphone jack not getting inside completely, making it sound just on one side. That been said, I removed it and now it works!!!
Thanks a lot man I used the earbuds and it worked, respect + subscriber
:D
Thanks for teh vid. Helpfull and it worked. I used a skewer (toothpick) to pick at the gunk along with the Q-tip, wich was also usefull.
Thanks for sharing .
With my headphones, you can't hear anything as soon as you plug them in. You have to wiggle it around and hold it down into the jack to get it to play.
thanks man ,works 100%
Will these tricks work for iPod Nano 7th generation? Can it work for every 3.5 headphone jack?
thank you
Is there anything else you can use other then that stuff you sprayed
I put my headphones in and the headphones dont work i take them out and my notifications say headset is plugged in when its not what do i do? Plz
I have the same problem

Bebi. Kai u can just use ur headphones cause if u plug in earbuds or headphones it works if not then it won’t work but at least u don’t have MUD INSIDE UR HEADPHONE JACK .-. I do.
thx you so much a rain drop dropt in my headphone jack and it stopped and i tryd This and it workt
Thanks for making the swab stuck in their
Oreoz LLOLLLL
My issue is that the jack doesn't work when the phone is all the way in. When it's barely in, I must apply pressure on the sides of the phone jack and I can hear it clearly. Just got new phones and now I know they aren't the problem. Does it need cleaning, or repair?
Thank you so much
