Actually, Scar started with his own single player let's play where he built a roller coaster world and stuff. It was one of the most beautiful set ups I've ever seen for early game. But the most heartwarming single player let's play build was when bdubs made a Paw Patrol world to play with his then young daughter. At one point, the kid who couldn't have been older than 4 or 5 asked, "who did make this game, daddy?" And he swelled with pride as he told her he made the game for her. It was really cute and wholesome. Some of their terrors of new updates and limited resources / possibilities made for great content.

For the paths at Scabland, please don't make them flat. As much terrain height variation as possible! Stairs up and down, super varied half-slabs and full block height differences, random holes into water, etc. Then you can also have the entries to the different plots at wildly different elevations as well and lean into the asymmetry.

I think Scabland will be really cool. It is like an alternate reality, a mirror dimension, where everything is just slightly off and crooked. It would give an uneasy feeling, which will only strengthen the feeling of Scarland. It is more an homage to Scarland than anything else
People need to stop taking things so seriously. The hard-core fans know that all the hermits are dear friends. But then again, I guess it shows how well your acting skills are. :) I can't wait to see scabland! I love the Etho- Ren race and Of course, I love all the hermits decked out runs!
Ren, those compasses point to the lodestones. To be more precise, they point to the middle of the block. If you stand on the block and walk to one of its edges, the hand will violently flick to other side, 180 degrees. That includes when there is a wall in a way - if you go all the way into the wall and the compass still tells you to move forward, then that means in no uncertain terms that the lodestone is not on the X and/or Z coordinate you're on. Find a place where it's straight ahead and walk there until you either encounter a wall or the compass hand flicks - if it flicks, then you just found exact X and Z coords where you need to drop the compass - but might need to check different floors because verticality - , and if there is a wall ahead, you're hugging the wall and the compass hand still points forwards, then you're in a wrong room and need to get moving. There is no "area" around where the compass is pointing towards where you might drop it and find the treasure, there is no randomness, dropping it haphazardly without even checking where it's pointing at exactly is a major time sink. There are very specific rules how to find the treasure coordinates, there is never "somewhere around here". I don't want to do the backseat driver thing but I've watched most other hermits videos on Decked Out 2 and somehow everyone makes the same mistake, and I just don't understand why there is so much trouble with that. Is there some urban myth about compasses and lodestones not being accurate? Or is it just the fact that people rarely use compasses at all and don't know how they work? Other than that rant above, the racing track looks amazing! Can't wait to see massive races happening there!
Be like driving around to see the Christmas lights. Though more boating around. Give places/ways to stop along the track and hop out to visit builds. Much more fun than flying.
If I had a nickel for any time Ren annoyed Scar by building roads with pink glazed terracotta, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice :p
The fact that it's so close to a military structure really sends it home. It's like he bought the land for cheap because of the noise made by the orbital cannon making it bad for residential buildings
I will say, you didn’t have the worst run in DO history because you at least took your death like a champ. That shameful title goes to Cub, who chose cowardice and left the dungeon without an artifact, causing him to perish in the bitter cold.
I love your fun little rivalries and wars. I guess the complants are either people that are new and don't know hermitcraft very well or are the types that don't pick up on these types of things easy
I must admit, I wan't quite jiving with the Scabland concept before, but this is actually fantastic. It's quickly becoming one of my most anticipated projects this season. I hope lots of other hermits can contribute!
I love your theme park idea. I was kinda disappointed with how the war with Buttercups ended. Basically the ones who were in wrong for breaking the machine ending by ruining the Perimeter again. But I'll be so happy if it comes back. Doc deserves justice he suffered the most in this war
Ren i don't know if you realize but scabland is basically re envisioning TFCs base idea this season. He had talked about just going crazy with it and making the ugliest base possible and just have fun with it. If you feel up to it maybe keep that in mind while building scabland and incorporate the memory of TFC in there somewhere. I completely understand tho if its too painful or difficult to go that route. Either way i think its pretty neat that in a way a you're channeling TFCs idea this season
@@luissuazo3684 i didn't mean a full on memorial just keeping it in mind include ideas or Easter eggs so to speak in memory of him not a complete build or dedication. And I honestly don't really understand what you mean saying something of if he was a person or character? Not sure what i said that would mean I didn't see him as a person.
Yay the river raceway is done!! I'm excited to see hermits race on that! And Scabland is a great idea, it's a shame some people take "villains" too seriously on Hermitcraft, it's always just a bit of fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing how crazy all the buildings will and stuff will be!
It was even worse with Empires SMP. Gem ended up putting a disclaimer in her videos and a big graphic saying "ROLEPLAY" whenever taking part in the SMP storyline. Creators were getting unbelievable amounts of hate and accusations for playing a game. 🖤
I think that for Scabland, you could make the plots even worse by putting them on angles. I don't mean just 45° angles. I mean cursed stuff like 37° or something like that. You'll have to use worldedit to make the plots, and sure it would make it difficult for making rides, but it would make the layout just so much worse.
As someone who hasn't watched your season as much as I have in the past, that ice boat race looked amazing! was my first time seeing anyone play it, can't wait for the world download to play it myself!
Nice run there. Well done. But yeah, keep your eyes peeled. You seem to overlook bushes, even when not being hunted by ravagers. :) And nice deck already. I think this is one of the larger permanent decks I've seen so far. Both sneak and stability sooo useful for longer runs. And the crowns can be used to get some one off cards as well to boost tressure for example to make sure you get a key for lvl 2 runs. GL in your decked out runs.
"You can imagine the crowd cheering" It would be SO cool if there's the sound of cheering and clapping as an ambience noise when passing by, maybe activated by a tripwire hook or just constantly playing by the grand stands area! The raceway bit was so cool!!!
The song is already a bop, but I left it on 1.25 and it.. really is a good intro song. Thanks so much for so much decked out, Ren!! We love to see it! ❤
38:21 Wth I just witnessed a murder! The bat just accidentally flew in the berry bush and died. And Ren like didn’t even acknowledge it 😭😭 Like imagine just sleeping and then waking up to falling into a berry bush then dying😭
Such a great Decked Out 2 run Ren! 😊 Also very sorry to hear that people were taking Scabland the wrong way. It hurts even just hearing about it, similar to when hearing about how people didn't understand the fun, creative storytelling of when Ren was king. I hope you're doing well Ren and hope that these negative comments aren't taking over the positivity that other people in the community have for your ideas. We look forward to seeing how things progress and greatly appreciate how much love, time, creativity you put into your endeavours. Thank you.
don't let anyone bully you! scabland is genius! and i'm so excited to see it! i love the "wars" between you all, things need to be shaken up sometimes! love the content, and people should know it's all in good fun!
We love you Ren...you do you and we'll watch and enjoy..don't let anyone harass you about what you want to do..we all have to except that we all have our own road to walk. BUILD what you want...for any reason you want😱❄️💙💙💙💙
Great run on Decked Out. The kids were on the edge of their seats, telling the screen what way you needed to go. They also are hoping their dad will buy them Ren The King plush.
idea for the raceway: add a custom soundtrack playing while the players are racing! this can include sound effects for the "3...2...1...!" before the race starts, and even custom music-- this can definitely add up to the hype and make a good atmosphere for the race :D
I know there's a lot going on, and some fantastic builds, but I've gotta say, I love what you're doing with the race track. It scratches that Mario Kart itch that I've been fond of for decades now. It's great to see you all having fun with each other!
i think some ppl might be a bit tilted because scarland is like scars dream project, BUT i dont think people understand the dynamic the hermits have. yall arent just 20 some odd random people playing together, yall are friends and u guys discuss ur projects and stuff (just look at docs sand umm problem heh). fantastic run! u got a ton of the treasure.
I’m wholeheartedly excited to see Scabland become rivals with Scarland. I wonder how Scar will react at the project when it’s being built XD Sorry about the rude comments from people. You’re definitely such an amazing person and you make such a great ‘antagonist’ to the plots of things (last episode’s epic ‘villain’ monologuing made me laugh so hard). I also appreciate your filmography since that’s not easy to do
In the US, there is a point where the continental railroad met from the east and west for the first time. That point was in Promontory Point, Utah, and was marked by a golden spike. I think it would be a nice little Easter egg if the block Etho placed finishing the track was something more commemorative than an ice block, even if it’s not practical.
I POSITIVELY ADORE the idea of Scabland, and I want one. I will have so much fun there once the world download is out, and just hearing the ideas you've had of the inneffecience (or however you spell that) and asymmetry is so awesome. I love making random/weird/unruly things, and this is exactly the kind of thing I'd love to see! Can't wait for Scabland's grand opening! :D
I hope the decked runs get uploaded here even if they’re not edited! I tend to miss streams and stuff so it’s be cool to still see them, I loved the content from the last episode! Hope you’re well Ren!
It’s so annoying that people are being so pricky about scabland. I thought it was a new fun cool giant build to look forward to. More than one person can want to build a theme park. It’s so sad to hear that people have been so. Rrgh. Mean about it. I’m so sorry Ren. I hope it doesn’t discourage you from building or playing the game however you want. I just love hearing your voice, especially when you’re having fun. Also, the design idea is so freaking fun! Sounds absolutely delightful in the most mischievous of ways! Also also, that boat race looks so fun what the heck 👀👀👀
Just thought of something that would definitely annoy Scar; he has big dumpsters behind the scenes and the park is super tidy, so maybe having dumpsters out in the open with signs saying “please litter” would be hilarious!
May I suggest my game of DripStone Drop. The most efficient build is 5 tubes. 4 small tubes for quick games, one central large tube for a large group game. The base game has three foors and plays a lot like spliff but more deadly. Death is incuraged but not with fist or tools dripstone or fall damage only. The magor component is getting a dripstone to hang from a carpet or similar removable platform. How it's achieved is a block with a vine, then place the carpet or other replacement on top of the vine. Replace vine with dripstone. Make sure you can reach the floor above from floors below so they can bring the above players down a floor while also dropping the dripstone on each other of the same level or even a lower level. You're out if you touch the bottom or die. I think it would be fun to watch, so I would prefer glass and color coded floors. You could do more than three or less then three layers. You can subtract or add more tubes. Between the tubes, I feel like could be used as a staging area for rules, beds and to stash grear. Then there is the Frozen Maze. Use leather boots in a 3D maze by putting on and taking off the boots to rise and sink throughout the powdersnow maze. If you're not fast enough or can't find a pocket to warm up in, you die. Maze Ideally would be made of glass and snow for walls and obstacles with powder snow filling the gaps. If you want to make it non killer, just add a regen becon. These are little sister games of total caos. I have mentioned them to cub. Feel free to use the tips and tricks discussed and displayed here. Thank you if you read this ren and sorry it was a bit long.
I had an idea for a gateway for Scabland. How about a wall that looks like it has a massive redstone door but when you press the button only one of the blocks opens and a wooden pickaxe is thrown out of the hole. Then an armour stand holding a sign pops up at another spot on the wall, the sign reading ”dig here” and an arrow pointing to a sad 2x1 cobblestone bit on the wall. Tadaaa! Welcome to Scabland!

Listen Scar is absolutely insufferable during the life series, sooo a little thorn from Ren with scabland is just fine lmao and I love scar, and I think his persona during certain things is HILARIOUS but I know he’s capable of taking a little bit of a ribbing from this project. They’re still buds it ain’t that deep!!
Suggestion: leave some holes in the paths of Scabland, with puddles, dirt, or (double)tall grass blocking the view. And don't forget about litter on the ground and stuck in the bushes.
Ren, I love this idea! There are a bunch of old theme parks in America that you could use some inspirational themes. Some of them are rather spooky, and others were unregulated and dangerous. I also think inviting Scar over as an alter-ego, to landscape or build something would be fun. You could do the same as a different character would be nifty. Since you both are creating gaming districts. I look forward to what you can achieve! Have a great week!
Scabland will have a shop/restaurant where all the food items are repainted poison items(Spider eyes/Puffer fish/Poisonous Potato/Mystery Stew) Call it "The King of Dogs"
SUGGESTION: ask Tango if you may/can double the space behind your space... the deposit box would have to remain same spot (redstone under) but behind likely is empty. on the left, if allowed to move the "G A" after the "G I" to read GIGA then the CORP will fit on the right
About ScabLand (TM), Ive always assumed the best gift content creators can give each other is more content and exposure - especially as the whole thing is a very tongue in cheek compliment to ScarLand in essence ... which kinda suits both creators vibes pretty well. They're friends and human behind the screen, and I'm sure we all annoy our friends IRL in a similar way! :) Maybe not on the same scale though lol (Also genuinely surprised hes not at 1M yet, his video quality is great, stories are entertaining and builds always have lots of effort I hadn't actually looked at sub count previously)
The compass always points to the middle of the block. If you look down it should change direction on the block you need. It it’s still pointing forward you aren’t there yet! Good luck!
Scab Castle should literally just be a facade. A flat cardboard cutout of a castle held up by a couple of 2x4's
That’s hilarious 😂

"impulse SV filter section" is such a masterful name for this section of the track, love it
The artifact is where the compass flips. No need to throw it wildly around yourself. That way you'll just end up cheating unintentionally.
If you all do Christmas builds this season, doing it out at the track would be awesome.
Wait when was the first time?
Watch Cubfan come back and pinpoint the exact "last bit of ice" and yoink it for the museum
The fact that it's so close to a military structure really sends it home. It's like he bought the land for cheap because of the noise made by the orbital cannon making it bad for residential buildings
Set spawn for rides that might kill you that charges admission to leave the room.
I wish I could like this more than once.
I love seeing everyone’s decked out rooms; your little “corp” sign gave me a chuckle! Good luck for phase 2 next week! Xx
I will say, you didn’t have the worst run in DO history because you at least took your death like a champ. That shameful title goes to Cub, who chose cowardice and left the dungeon without an artifact, causing him to perish in the bitter cold.
"I'm not mad, just disappointed."
Too be fair. He was the first one to do that and thought he could take out what he had found so far.
BIG props to that ice road race! That was EPIC seeing it all come together!
I love your fun little rivalries and wars. I guess the complants are either people that are new and don't know hermitcraft very well or are the types that don't pick up on these types of things easy
Scabland is so genius because it's both trolling Scar and also complimenting him by being terrible (the opposite of his incredible project)
I must admit, I wan't quite jiving with the Scabland concept before, but this is actually fantastic. It's quickly becoming one of my most anticipated projects this season. I hope lots of other hermits can contribute!
Awww man... The last block should have been a gold block or blue ice so it would have been noticeable for (and stolen by) Cub! Lol
I love your theme park idea. I was kinda disappointed with how the war with Buttercups ended. Basically the ones who were in wrong for breaking the machine ending by ruining the Perimeter again. But I'll be so happy if it comes back. Doc deserves justice he suffered the most in this war
Who said it’s over? (Expect for grian)
Naah, Doc said he will retaliate, just not now. We first wants to work on his Perimeter wall.
@@bobosaurus331literally this episode. Ren said that hes not trying to start a war and he knows the war is over.
I always thought Scabland was such a silly and fun idea! I love it!
Your room is sweet. It's so smooth it's a bit of an illusion
For the late DO arrivals like false and keralis, suggest to tango cafe themed rooms hanging from the roof in the grand hall!! That would be awesome!
And nice deck already.
Scabland is a really fun idea!!! I love it ren i’m excited for it!
38:21 Wth I just witnessed a murder! The bat just accidentally flew in the berry bush and died. And Ren like didn’t even acknowledge it 😭😭
Like imagine just sleeping and then waking up to falling into a berry bush then dying😭
In your Decked Out cubby, you could write out "CORP" on the ceiling and floor such that it crosses the word GIGA
I love the layout of Scabland, but those roads better not end up being flat. I expect lots of jumps, drops, and a no elytra rule.
Such a great Decked Out 2 run Ren! 😊
Also very sorry to hear that people were taking Scabland the wrong way.
Thank you.
A Magic the Gathering Series?? I'd love to see it! Also, I love Scabland and can't get enough of Decked Out. The road was cringe, perfect.
don't let anyone bully you! scabland is genius! and i'm so excited to see it! i love the "wars" between you all, things need to be shaken up sometimes! love the content, and people should know it's all in good fun!
Butthurt kids getting angry at hermits is the funniest. 🤣 The shenanigans are the best part of hermitcraft lol. I love the scabland concept.
Love how your DO2 locker turned out Ren. Really cool design that is very unique.
idea for the raceway:
add a custom soundtrack playing while the players are racing! this can include sound effects for the "3...2...1...!" before the race starts, and even custom music-- this can definitely add up to the hype and make a good atmosphere for the race :D
The race track looks awesome. And great DO run! It's fun watching the Hermits learn the dungeon as they do runs.
In Scabland there could be food vendors selling sloppy burgers and floppy hotdogs.
Scabland number one family destination 💯💯
I’m wholeheartedly excited to see Scabland become rivals with Scarland. I wonder how Scar will react at the project when it’s being built XD
Sorry about the rude comments from people. You’re definitely such an amazing person and you make such a great ‘antagonist’ to the plots of things (last episode’s epic ‘villain’ monologuing made me laugh so hard). I also appreciate your filmography since that’s not easy to do
17:05 I can’t!! I thought he said “Let’s get together…. Elope..” but he said “Let’s get together…. Have a look….” I’m crying😭😭
Hope you’re well Ren!
i love the idea of Scabland; it's hilarious 😂
I'm so excited about the Scabland project. It's actually really difficult to make something "so bad it's good", can't wait to see how it goes.
Stoked for Scabland progress, and always love seeing some Decked Out runs in an ep
The Scabland layout would have fit in one of my old Roller Coaster Tycoon layouts. Love this little barb!
Ren the King - Behold Hermitcraft Fans, king Ren the King Hath Doth returned. One last time to Reign over the hermits in season Nine!
Hermits - Get the Cage of Shame and Rotten tomatoes ready! 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
Ren the King - Uh, actually No, He's just come back as a plushie!
Hermits - So cute, but King Ren, you are still going in the Cage of Shame!
Ren the King - Doh!
Scarland: Beautiful themepark of good vibes! The happiest place on Hermitcraft!
Scabland: Haunted carnival of hair-raising sights! You're going to wish they put the bland in Scabland!
Scabland should sell retextured spider eyes as snacks.
Lol Scab inc. A subdivision of GigaCorp, cutting as many corners as humanly possible for profits!
I thoroughly enjoy that the logic behind Scab Land is "This is going to annoy Scar"
SUGGESTION: ask Tango if you may/can double the space behind your space...
the deposit box would have to remain same spot (redstone under) but behind likely is empty. on the left, if allowed to move the "G A" after the "G I" to read GIGA then the CORP will fit on the right
Still waiting for a "Shoot a Jellie" Minigame, similar to skeeball where you shoot Jellie cats into a hole
Oh my gosh LOL that’s so evil and I love it
13:24 My brother sprays me like an ill-behaved cat when I so much as create an intentional floating tree.
Finally a build that might be my cup of tea. Scabland gonna be a glorious one. 14:09 if you have time that road should continue endlessly.
People take things too seriously sometimes. I love the idea of Scabland and the fact the mini games need Death tied to them is a great idea
:) Maybe not on the same scale though lol
(Also genuinely surprised hes not at 1M yet, his video quality is great, stories are entertaining and builds always have lots of effort I hadn't actually looked at sub count previously)
The compass always points to the middle of the block. If you look down it should change direction on the block you need. It it’s still pointing forward you aren’t there yet! Good luck!
Scabland is hilarious Ren! Excited to see more progress!
