Thank you so much Deb! I couldn't resist those new fabrics, even though I already had plenty to go on with... I'll try and stay away from any more purchasing for a little while.
The chanterelle pants in pink look so lovely, and as a set with thr pink top, you look very put together. Love it. The whitmore cardigan is looking so lovely.. knitting is such a long journey isn't it. I havent knitted a shawl yet, could be next on my lost. Love the fade project.. looking so delicate . Always lovely to see you ❤
Thank you Deb! I love knitting shawls! The ones I've really enjoyed have been ones that are regularly changing the knitting technique / pattern, to keep things interesting. And you have lots of opportunities to play with colour that you might not feel as inclined to wear in a whole jumper / cardigan for example. I would recommend it, especially if you like to wear shawls or scarves, which I really do!
Thank you so much! I am really loving it and can't wait to have more time to make some good progress on it! I am thinking this weekend I'll have to dedicate a few hours to it, while I catch up on some TV. 💕
I think I'm going to really have to consider purchasing the Chanterelle pant pattern, every single one you have made are just so cute! Thank you for another lovely vlog.🥰
All your sewing plans look fun... I'm excited to see all your makes done but the lobster 🦞 fabric is cute ... really hoping that is great wearable toile... loving your pink outfit they look like they were designed to be together... we had -11° below 0° F in our part of Montana USA this morning when we got out of bed... enjoy your beautiful warm day 💛
Oh wow, that is very chilly indeed - completely unimaginable for me to be honest! 😂 I have never experienced anything like that. I have my dress pattern for the new fabrics on the way, so hopefully I'll get onto that soon - I hope it's a wearable toile too, it's such a fun and summery design!
Isn't the fabric so gorgeous! I'm hoping I find it good to sew with - the pattern squares are very large! French seams look so good - and they're not difficult so hopefully they'll work on your bag too!
I hope your first few days back at school have been great, although let’s face it they are always crazy, especially coupled with hot weather.! Your point set looks amazing. I might have to check out that pants pattern (I already have the Ashton). What a selfless Mum you are giving up your sewing room for your son. I hope they are enjoying having their own space and you are making your new space work for you. Maybe treat yourself to something nice that will help with space saving.
Thank you very much! Yes it's been quite hectic and we are all feeling a bit tired tonight. The boys have been very excited and grateful for their spaces and so far I'm finding my new space quite practical to work in, which is a relief! I think having to contain myself to my little corner will also help me keep on top of the mess a bit better than I did in the past - it's also in the living room and can't just be shut away behind a closed door, which is more motivation to stay tidy!
Love your new pink set so much! Looks fantastic. Your knitting is amazing I’m trying to learn to knit atm & not very well😂 I just recently purchased the pants pattern after seeing how much you liked them.
Thank you so much! I hope you love the Chanterelles too! Good luck with your knitting - it does take time to get the knack of it. I was lucky in that I learned the basic stitches as a child, and I was able to pick it up relatively easily again after my 30-year break. 😂
Your pink set looks absolutely stunning Sarah. Love the tropical fsbrics as well. Good luck with the ikat, bit of a challenge for which I have no suggestions sorry. ❤
Those dress fabrics are mouth-watering. I know what you mean about just slightly too loose elastic, I hope that the pants do shrink just the tiniest bit for you.
Canceling out headphones each for the boys might help with the sound. The pink linen set looks gorgeous on you and I look forward to seeing all your future makes.
I love that pink set. I'm going to visit Helen's closet when I finish here. I made the Whitmoor sweater. It took me almost 2 years on and off but I finally finished it. It looks great but it is ginormous! It was my first time knitting in the round so maybe that had something to do with it. I'm going to pop it into the washing machine and dryer and hope that it shrinks to fit🤪
Thank you Irene! Oh no, after 2 years of knitting something you definitely want it to fit at the end! I hope I don't have the same experience. My last item was far too small for me and I'm not prepared for a back-to-back fitting failure! 😂 I hope you can find a solution for yours and that you can wear it and enjoy it!
Your pants and top look wonderful Sarah, love the pink linen. Linen being my favourite fabric 😊 I also prefer to use French seams. A little extra work but such a neat look. I have the Chanterelle pant pattern, and added to my make 9 this year. Your Ikat fabric is so pretty, looking forward to seeing made up into your shorts and top set. Happy sewing 🙂
Thank you so much Kim! I am so happy with the pink set and glad I went with the bright pink - it's such a fun colour and the linen is so beautiful. I hope you enjoy making your Chanterelles too!
Thank you Brigitte! Haha, when I can use French seams I am always so happy because I love the finish on them! I used them on the Ashton Top too, as Helen's Closet generally uses a 5/8" seam allowance which makes them nice and simple to use!
Did you already have the shoes to match the pink outfit? It looks great! You could also wear those shoes with the Mediterranean fabric outfit. For the fabric from Bali, rather than trying to fit the fabric to a pattern, I would wait for a pattern that fits the fabric... maybe a winter dress that shows off the fabric's beautiful design. Your knitting projects always look flawless!
Haha, yes I already had the shoes and I thought it would be fun to put them together with the set! Today I wore the sandals, plus the top and a pair of ready-to-wear black&white culottes, which I felt great in! When I looked at the Balinese fabric again I started re-thinking whether the shorts would even work, and I think you might be right in finding a pattern that will not break up the print. Maybe even a short wrap skirt...
I adore your pink set! I love the Ashton top too. I just made my first pair of Pietra pants and the Ashton crop length is perfect for them. I've tried the sleeved version once but my shoulders don't fit!! 😮 Need to get back to it and see what tweaks I can do to make it work.
Thank you so much! I have paired some Pietra pants with Ashton tops in the past too and agree they make a great pairing! Hmmm that's interesting about the sleeved version. I have made two of the different sleeved views - the regular short sleeve I do remember thinking is quite close to the body - not a lot of room! I've also made the flutter sleeve in a rayon and I love that one - lots more movement around the shoulder / arm in that design!
Beautiful makes! I may give the Chantelle pants a try. Do you have any tips on lease knitting or any resources? I find it quite challenging and you are doing such a beautiful job on your shawl and sweater
Thank you so much! Hmmm my biggest tip really is to watch videos like Very Pink Knits (she even has slow motion ones!) to help with techniques. Also, when I started out I had a "practice" swatch to try out all the new techniques before I did them on my actual garment, which gave me a lot more confidence! The shawl pattern I'm following is also really good as it includes video tutorials for some of the techniques, which have been very helpful!
@@cindyw4278 ahhhh ok! If there’s a lace repeat I’ll often put in extra stitch markers to help me stay on track which I find really helps me! Depends on the design but if I know there’s a 10 stitch repeated pattern I’ll put stitch markers every 10 stitches so that I can be sure I’m staying on track. That’s really all I can think of that might help you. ☺️
Ooo lovely pink set and super fabrics too! I wonder if you could do the other pockets foe your chanterelles(the ones from the other trouser view?) or just be bold...as long as the pattern is balanced across the legs? My 2nd french terry co-ord set with chanterelles is almost done 🎉
Thanks Debs, I hadn't thought of that - I only just noticed when I was putting this video together that the View A even had different pockets! 😂 I wonder if they might work - good thinking! How good is the Chanterelle pant in a french terry - the most COMFY track pants ever!
I have made culottes & top out of the 2nd fabric; and I also have that dress pattern (haven't used it yet). I used coco pants and rise and shine top (PE). They both worked out well; lovely bright fabric.
Thank you Bridget! That's an interesting idea, I hadn't considered that! I am thinking it might be better to use a pattern that doesn't break up the large motifs so much, so that gives me something to think about...
Thank you Libby! Yes, I think that is one thing I like about the Chanterelle pants - there's not a lot of excess fabric around the bum. There's enough for it to not feel clingy, and with a linen it also grows throughout the day, but definitely a closer fit than other elastic waist pants I've made (Pietras being the main ones that come to mind.
Make the shorts and top with the fabric laying with vertical stripes. I honestly dislike horizontal stripes. You have a really nice body, etc, so emphasise your features with vertical stripes.
The pink set is so beautiful. The pants are so lovely. Your knitting is beautiful.
Thank you Moira! I have really been enjoying all my projects recently! 💕
Love your pink set Sarah, you have purchased some beautiful tropical fabrics, they will look great as sets, Deb
Thank you so much Deb! I couldn't resist those new fabrics, even though I already had plenty to go on with... I'll try and stay away from any more purchasing for a little while.

I love how you have the coloring to be able to wear bold colors and prints. Be careful where certain parts of the rust colored fabric print land 😊
Thank you! Yes, I'll need to think carefully about that fabric placement - it's a tricky one, as the motifs are quite large!
Your Chanterelle set looks so beautiful on you. I really enjoy your vlogs.
Thank you so much!
French seams make it even more beautiful
Thank you Karol, I forgot to say I used them on the top too, so I have two beautifully finished matching garments!
Hi Sarah, The shawl is divine!!! I cant wait to see further progress, so pretty.xx
Thank you so much Nancy! I should try and get a commission on the Chantelles as I think I've sent a few people off to buy them. 🤪😂

That new fabric from darn cheap fabrics is so fun!!! I really want to give French seams a try on my next project bag.

Haha, I'm glad you like it!

Aren't they so beautiful?! I am excited to sew them!
Love your new haircut! 😍 When I saw that fabric from Darn Cheap Fabrics, I thought of you - can’t wait to see how your dress turns out with it! X
Thank you Lauren! Oh my goodness, the darn cheap fabric is so amazing! I bought the pattern this week so I will try and make my toile soon!

Lovely video. Your hair looks great ❣
Thanks so much Carol!
Beautiful work. French seams are having a big moment in my house so the overlocker and I are arguing less 😅

@ when i reread my message i meant to say lace knitting lol. Are there any tips for it. I seem to always have to redo the row. Thanks

Oh your matching set sounds lovely and very cool for the hot weather! I'm glad yours turned out well!
❤
Lovely pink outfit! A jacket with the Bali fabric? The large motif on the back , Bridget R
Thank you Bridget! That's an interesting idea, I hadn't considered that! I am thinking it might be better to use a pattern that doesn't break up the large motifs so much, so that gives me something to think about...
Just subscribed!
Thank you so much, and welcome! 💕
Sarah, your outfit looks fantastic. Love love the pink.
Are the chantelle pants narrow pant around the bum area?
Yours look fantastic on you.

@SoSarahSewed Great. Thanks for that. I think l will have to give them a try. I do really like the look of yours.
The large scale print could make a great bomber jacket with a matching skirt.
Make the shorts and top with the fabric laying with vertical stripes. I honestly dislike horizontal stripes. You have a really nice body, etc, so emphasise your features with vertical stripes.
Thank you Kylie, I'll think the vertical stripe would look better in this case too.
