Classic joust has to be the worst joust map, idk how you think its A, its nostalgic but absolute ass and so unfun to play, people go gods like kuku and have their support build emperors and literally tower/pheonix sit and make a game that should end in 10-15 minutes last 25-30, literally no counter play is possible, def the worst joust map
Yeah it's also the gamemode which triggers the most. Like althought u play the whole game better and ur team has a lead, in the end the enemy will just every time phonix camp which will drag the game so long. And if they kill you under phonix, which is not difficult no matter how far their team is behind, they will literally win the game xD..it's so sad and if u have an comp with no tank and u an adc, assasin, mage has to tank phonix u could also just surrender the game... So in the past I recommended new players to start with playing joust, but now they would for sure rage quit the game while thinking this shit is worse then the mobas on mobile xD
You're not crazy, I think Inters3ct is crzy putting classic Joust so high, the map flow encourages either a hyper-diving team or a hyper-campy team. Everything in between loses to both aforementioned. In conclusion, it is a map with 0 balance. There is a reason the season 3 map added BDK to disable towers and pheonixes...
Like he said, i think Hirez should have at least put a bull demon, or weakened the SIT-ON-TOWER-META somehow, but there are good things in this map like: Its horizontally symmetric, i like that and there is 3 buffs for everyone, so people dont have to fight over some red buff, and the S7 map for me have a horrible placement for the yellow buff, its just bad that yellow...
There's No Visual Design To Begin With,Its Like Making A Half Map And Copy And Paste It there is no way to tell which side of the map your on you can only tell by the Titan

I agree. Completely trash. I am not sure if you know why people “like” this map but I’ll tell you.. it’s because for some reason, in life, it’s considered “cool” to like older things.. this is why people say they like the antiques that are 100x less efficient than newer better things.. it’s their sad attempt to fit in and feel like they belong to something. So with the old joust map, for people who “like it”, you would hear them talk about how cool the old map is and they don’t make them like this now a days and they’ll probably even point out they played in the map when it was in the game.. which will be true sometimes and not true others. Again they’re just trying to fit in. Now that isn’t every single case.. some people (intersect included) probably feel nostalgia for this map. Like for instance every time I play zombies even if it’s a new cod or if I just log onto the main screen of cod 2 zombies or cod 3-4 I get a pit in my stomach. Like the new zombies are better in almost every way but there’s just something I feel when I load it up. That is probably what it is for intersect. He probably just feels that pit of when he was younger and new to the game and not seasoned and burnt out. For people like this it’s fine that they like it. However it’s a terrible map with no flow.. it’d be like building a closed concept home in today’s world. No one likes the feeling and it feels off when you go in one. So that’s my issue with the map is the people who are just pretending to like it to feel “cool”.. it’s annoying. If they want to bring this map back at least make it to where those of us who don’t feel nostalgic or act fake like we like the map to be cool then they should let you choose between whichever map you want. That’s my two cents..

Could you give some more justification as to why s7 joust was so bad? It had an anti-tower camping objective, red buff to fight over, chance for an invade if you're careful. What's not to love ;_; Was rare to have a massively long game as well. also classic joust is the worst thing in the world how can you put it up there after admitting the map enables boring phoenix camping. THIS^^^^^^^^ what is so god damned special about Classic Joust other than nostalgia? like i dont get it 100% everyone bitching about S7, and i honestly have no idea why. it had the same kind of flow early on as a Conquest match. Mid/Mage starts near yellow, throws an ability over the wall, auto attacks the blue buff, the other two clear yellow and move to blue, gain the XP. go to lane. clear wave, move to mid XP (potential for a fight), come back to lane, clear, move to XP (potential to get jumped), back to lane. wait for Red Buff (potential for fight). That's really not much different to how Mid works in Conquest. throw an ability on yellow to help jungle, move to lane. clear, move to XP, back to lane, clear, Gank attempt, move to red buff with Jungler. But people are really digging this whole. SPRINT YOUR ASS OFF BEFORE YOUR RED BUFF IS STOLEN!!!! If you have no resistance cool, move to yellow, come back to blue, move up to lane. But then what? you sit there with your hand up your ass for 4 minutes while buffs respawn as you mindlessly poke and try to clear wave until someone makes the wrong move. Or am i completely missing something about S7 and Classic Joust?
So here is my biggest advice for Classic Joust if they start Phoenix camping. Let minions fight each other in mid, dont kill them. You stand by, get the xp, and they either camp in Phoenix, not getting xp, or they have to push up to mid and you can start a team fight
Freezing the wave is great and all but doesn't change the fact that it's still so damn boring to have to do that? And if you're not in a pre-made convincing your team to help is fucking impossible most don't type or reply
Closed Beta conquest map was interesting Had very narrow jungle paths, side jungles Jungleing was not as impactful as it is now fire giant was a very closed space with small entrance lots of FG was stolen buy jumping over the walls

I remember you ranked every adventure mode before, but what about ranking every event on smite. For the events, I am referring to when the game gives a small amount of content, less than the odyssey, summer events, season/battle pass, or multi-patch events. Path of the Phantom Queen would be one such event, with the Celtic pantheon opening up. Smite birthdays would also be some smaller events
I have 2 wishes in smite 1 They should pay more attention to siege its a really fun mode and 2 They should give Assault a remodel or something new its getting old really like its fun to play but the same map for so long makes it a bit ehh

S3 map is the best one for me S7 map focuses a lot on farming and s3 and s1 map focus more on fighting the enemy and boxing in general, wich is the point of joust. If you want farm, be my guest and go play conquest. The s8 map makes you a farming slave, specially as jungler. It's not even fun anymore. That being said i do prefer s7 to s1, dunno why they would bring back s1 map. They did the necessary changes to avoid the kukultoxic meta tho
Well you are very wrong about s7 Joust. It was more popular gamemode than conquest for majority of the s7 and s8. Check Duke Sloth's video (Forget Everything You Know About SMITE's Player Numbers). Classic Joust is just horrible to play, it's very boring and you have no way of forcing people out of phoenix without Demon king. Most of the gods are just unplayable there.
Classic Joust, Arena, and Assault are my favorite. New joust is boring to me. I walked away from conquest because that's where I found most of the toxic people to hang out. Conq is only fun to me if I'm not solo-qing. All my friends left Smite though, so Arena it was lol.
I think it would be really cool if hi-rez could rotate the conquest map of s7 and s8 as they are both amazing maps and I kinda miss the s7 map ngl but also like the s8 map
Oh wow s1 joust so good, camp fenix wait to late, kill the enemy team when dives your fenix and you win cuz its late and they are dead for 45 secs, oh and dont forget thatif you lose fenix and you might as well f6 cuz the titan dose -15 damage and bugs all the time, and ofcourse theres the corner bug thing to get the titan out, such a good map, totally you are not biased cuz nostalgia
Classic joust is a straight D. it has to be the most boring map ever made. Every game is wave clear and do nothing. Atleast the other joust maps allowed for macro and taking objectives to move the game forward.

Arena in D? who pissed in your cereal? yes, it is just a circle, but thats all it was ever supposed to be! it's even gone out of it's way, added the little pillars in the middle where AMC can hide his hives and that gives potential for outplays. and the buffs are actually amazing because they create some sort of "side jungle" that can be a fun thing for assassins to hide if they notice buffs are coming up and someone from the enemy might wanna snack those. Arena is a big circle, but it's a great circle, and because Circle starts with a C it deserves _at least_ a C tier. and now.. jungle practice. oh my god. A? are you serious? the map is trash. like, it does what it's supposed to do for the most part. but it's supposed to be the ultimate testing tool for players. like, try builds against other builds, try mechanics and so on. but for half of that you need a buddy who is willing to put up with your shenanigans and the other hald doesn't even work in jungle practice at all. imagine if we could switch between out god and the bots and give the bots specific builds. now that would be amazing. or what if i wanna test my powerspikes, for when i can solo GF or something else. like, they add enhanced buffs to the game? jungle practice doesnt have them. they add a completely new buff and new monsters to the game? where are they in junglepractice? why is there no minimap in jungle practice? i mean, where would you go if you wanted to make some adjustments to your HUD? in my Opinion it doesn't deserve to be higher than C, it has so many flaws that are so very specific for jungle practice, but it's a very special map after all. to end on a positive note: i totally agree with S7 and S8 conquest map being the only S tier maps. they are so good, though i would put S8 (8.1 and 8.6, not 8.3) into S+ if i could. but S7 is also better than all the other maps. sure they get the job done. but conquest has become actually really interesting to play, and it only gets better.
Classic Joust is an awful Map as a joust player as it encourages super tower camping and defensive play by design, Season 7 Joust is better let alone Chinese the best one imo.
Beta conquest wasn't balanced at all however everyone who played back then was so shit it didnt matter. If it were to exist in the same capacity today it'd be abused and exploited to fuck and back. Sort of like old hastened fatalis, everyone was so oblivious to its strength they didnt see how good it was till it was gone, mostly being seen as a "crutch for bad players".
I dunno how joust can be fun, in my experience it feels that people just hold w in your direction, feels like there is not much skill. It feels that the damage on this mode is way too broken too, maybe that's way people just hold w on you because the damage output is just too insane.

A? are you serious? the map is trash. like, it does what it's supposed to do for the most part. but it's supposed to be the ultimate testing tool for players. like, try builds against other builds, try mechanics and so on. but for half of that you need a buddy who is willing to put up with your shenanigans and the other hald doesn't even work in jungle practice at all. imagine if we could switch between out god and the bots and give the bots specific builds. now that would be amazing. or what if i wanna test my powerspikes, for when i can solo GF or something else. like, they add enhanced buffs to the game? jungle practice doesnt have them. they add a completely new buff and new monsters to the game? where are they in junglepractice? why is there no minimap in jungle practice? i mean, where would you go if you wanted to make some adjustments to your HUD? in my Opinion it doesn't deserve to be higher than C, it has so many flaws that are so very specific for jungle practice, but it's a very special map after all.
to end on a positive note: i totally agree with S7 and S8 conquest map being the only S tier maps. they are so good, though i would put S8 (8.1 and 8.6, not 8.3) into S+ if i could. but S7 is also better than all the other maps. sure they get the job done. but conquest has become actually really interesting to play, and it only gets better.
Classic Joust is an awful
Map as a joust player as it encourages super tower camping and defensive play by design, Season 7 Joust is better let alone Chinese the best one imo.
I do think R'yleh Arena is at least C tier for the visuals.
Beta conquest wasn't balanced at all however everyone who played back then was so shit it didnt matter. If it were to exist in the same capacity today it'd be abused and exploited to fuck and back. Sort of like old hastened fatalis, everyone was so oblivious to its strength they didnt see how good it was till it was gone, mostly being seen as a "crutch for bad players".

I dunno how joust can be fun, in my experience it feels that people just hold w in your direction, feels like there is not much skill. It feels that the damage on this mode is way too broken too, maybe that's way people just hold w on you because the damage output is just too insane.
