Beautiful sweater! It's so interesting that you showed this bag and mentioned the Fringe bag, I JUST this afternoon watched your interview with Politically Incorrect Knitters from two years ago - popped up in my suggested videos. I did not know you were cancelled. There are so many wonderful crafters on this side of that word. I appreciated your candid common sense and think you handled it well. In that video you mentioned that you went to look for the Fringe bag and her shop was gone, so full circle, it looks like you've found a similar bag to the one you were hunting for!
Watching the episode late because we were in Middlefield, Ohio chasing an eclipse! What an awesome display of God's majesty! My husband got a kick out of hearing you tell his bathroom story. lol! He said, because of him, you will never forget me! LOL! And the Sanctum balm that I purchased at the winery...he has used it as beard butter a couple of times. There might be a new market for your balm. ;-) Love your sweater and Gigi's blanket is awesome! Once again, a great episode.
I LOVE that you are making the kits more affordable for those who want to knit the tee...you are truly the spirit of the craft, Devin!!! Your owl blanket is FIRE, Gigi!!!! Great podcast...and someone send a knitting story!
Gigi's owl blanket is beautiful. Love your wild flower sweater , it looks great on you. In the UK many of us use inches and many patterns show both measurements. An inch is approximately 2.5 centimeters. So makes for an easy calculation. A gauge swatch of say 20 stitches to 4 inches is the same as 20 stitches to 10 centimeters. 🇬🇧
Every time your balm is mentioned as a ‘cure all’ use for everything it makes me smile so much and reminds me of the film ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ and the ‘windex’ used as a cure all in that. So funny x
There’s a kind of Scandinavian folk art called Rosemaling. It was popular for home decor a while back…that might be what you’re thinking of. You and Gigi made me laugh! Every Sunday my eyes, early in the episode, would wander over to your shelf…yep, still crooked. But I wouldn’t ever mention it because, honestly, how petty is that?! But I couldn’t not check it out every time, because I am one of those weird people who are distracted by unimportant little details. But I think now that you’ve mentioned it, I can relax and let it go….maybe… 😂
So many comments from this great episode! I’ll try to break it into a few shorter ones! First, it was great to see Gigi again and her blanket for Maggie’s baby boy looks great! I think the idea of a mobile is great and I’ve been looking at making one also. I love the following patterns: Monster Mobile by Rebecca Danger, The Little Prince Mobile by Eva Penafiel, Sleepy Owl Mobile by Oleysa Pronyaeva, and Monster Mobile by Yvonne Markus.
What a fun podcast. The yarn for the month is very pretty. GIGI! The blanket is amazing. You go girl. Devin your sweater turned out amazing, I bought the pattern a few weeks ago. Have a wonderful week!
Every time I watch your podcast I feel like I’m meeting with a group of friends. Thanks for such a fun uplifting podcast. By the way, #4 yarn is supposed to be worsted weight. I love Hobby Lobby but I do find their labeling of yarn weights doesn’t always match the yarn’s actual thickness. 😊 My daughter, Destiny, who had the brain surgery, still continues to have muscle spasms and throwing up, which is discouraging. But she was able to return to a part time job this past weekend and so she is getting a bit stronger. All prayers are greatly appreciated. Clarification on pieceacrap and his boss. They work for a medical transport company and I guess she strips on the side as a second job 😳 I wouldn’t want my loved ones to ride in that ambulance 😩
I’ll bet that Figi yarn will make a great summer tee. I’ll look forward to seeing how it turns out. Could be a good stash buster. Gigi, that owl blanket is adorable!
I love the owl blanket so much!! Find Inga at Knitting Traditions- she had the cutest little pants for a baby. Even though she just had a little girl- everything was so cute! Devin, hope you don't mind, as you got further from the camera, I feel like it's focusing on your beautiful trees, and perhaps, not as clear on you, but that could be my tired eyes from knitting too late. Love the podcast, thanks for the time! - Kimberly
Love Gigi’s blanket!! Wool and linen yarn- YES! I have knit a sweater with Purl Soho’s yarn called Linen Quill- it’s 50/35/15 fine highland wool/alpaca/linen - it really lovely! And now you have me looking through my stash … I have another merino/linen blend yarn from Manos Del Uruguay called Milo. Always learn so much, thanks for a great podcast!😊
Ok, so there is such a thing as “fabric frequency” just Google it and you will learn that some fabric are used for healing - who knew?? Also, LOVED Gigi’s crochet blanket. I would be concerned about the big holes so I’m glad she’s putting a backing on it. So cute! My husband’s nephew (second marriage) is married and having a boy as well, so I’m looking for boy things to knit.
I'm knitting the Helen Stewart MKAL which has both sk2p and sk2p. I've taken to writing them out in my own shorthand next to the chart symbol legend 😂 Gratefully, she has them detailed out in the beginning of the pattern.
When my daughter found out she was expecting a boy, I initially was not sure what to knit for him. I did find some cute patterns. I made Petit Knit's Willum's Overalls, Hipster Cardigan, Debbie Bliss Baseball Jacket, and a variety of hats. Might I suggest baby boy patterns for a future knitting fantasy? I'll send you an email with pictures of the knits I made for my grandson.
Great episode. No need to comment on size 4 yarn or why the crochet stitches are called what they are as in the comments were great explanations. Two of wands is a designer. She does great crochet and knit designs. That is her name on Ravelry and IG. She does projects with Lion Brand and now has her own line, the yarn that Gigi used. I used it to make my Friend to Friend shrug by Leslie Friend. Great yarn. I look forward to making my colorwork sweater of your design out of your yarn to wear to the retreat. Now if I could just remember the name of the pattern without looking it up. Lol.
As a crochet designer and instructor, I can tell you the names of the stitches are because of the number of times you pull through “2 loops” So to complete a single you YO and pull through 2 loops once, hence “single”. To complete a double crochet you YO and pull through 2 loops, twice. Hence “double” So the half double is half a double because you are still yarning over before pulling up a loop in the stitch, just like a double. You have 3 loops on your hook. BUT you are only doing a YO and pull through all three loops once, which makes it a half double. So it keeps going- triple crochet is pulling through 2 loops 3 times, etc as you get taller. Caveat: this only applies to the US terms. I need to research the UK terms. Hope that helps ! :)
Oh my goodness I love the Wild Flower T that you are wearing. Is garment phobia a thing? I have been knitting for 10 years and have yet to get my nerve up to knit a T or a sweater. Shawls, no problem, socks no problem, stuffed animals no problem. I have even knitted a colorwork hat. So what is the problem?? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Well, not to toot my own horn, but the Fosette Crop is a great first colorwork sweater! It’s DK weight, has very easy colorwork and only uses 3 skeins of yarn for most sizes! ❤
Gigi should check out MJ’s Off the Hook Designs for amazing crochet patterns, including for little boys. What boy doesn’t need a shark or dragon cocoon type blanket? My sons liked theirs.
just wanted you to know that i finished my Corrie in by amy palko that i knit in your new Valentine color in DK and mohair , i love it and the color is beautiful. thank you
As far as mixing fibers, they have different frequencies wool has 5000 and so does linen but they run opposite and cancel any healing properties out other fibers have less frequency and the body has a frequency of 100
Hi Devin. I think most of your viewers are Catholic or Christian so I wanted to add some information from a Jewish perspective. There are many yarns that include both linen and wool and religious Jews do not use them. The most popular blend is probably Purl SoHo’s linen quill yarn, which went viral because of the Half and Half shawl. Not to worry though, we still have plenty of other yarns to choose from!
I was on the fence about doing the KAL and then you mentioned that we would be twins! Ok, now I’m definitely in! I can’t wait to try this top- what is the timeline?
Can you sit closer to the camera or wear a mic because it was hard to hear you and I had my tv turned all the way up. Plus I couldn't even turn the captions on because it wasn't offered when I wanted to see what you said since I couldn't hear you. Normally, I don’t have an issue but this episode I did.

That would be beautiful for a sweater say the Audrey. ❤
The April color way.

Gigi’s blanket is fantastic! So much personality!

Look at episode 134 of the podcast It’s A Sarah (En). The bunny with clothes is so cute.

Always a delight! Gigi's blanket is amazing. Oh, a knit along with that top would be nice. I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks!

love the kit and kal idea, thank you for the decisions about colors, and the kit!!!!
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.

What are the chances of a DK weight in the new cotton/wool base?
Gigi should check out MJ’s Off the Hook Designs for amazing crochet patterns, including for little boys. What boy doesn’t need a shark or dragon cocoon type blanket? My sons liked theirs.

Your new top looks lovely with 9 colours but couldn't you knit it with one skein and 8 minis
I think you could! But this yarn doesn’t come in minis, sadly. 😢
I was on the fence about doing the KAL and then you mentioned that we would be twins! Ok, now I’m definitely in! I can’t wait to try this top- what is the timeline?
😂😂😂 I’ll mention it on today’s episode!
Please let us know if the news letter will gonout this friday
It didn’t happen, Mona. Sorry about that!
