I love the throw you got done. I will have to try it. Hope you feel better. ❤❤❤
The Farmers Daughter sock squad rotates three different yarn bases throughout the year. This is my first time joining in as well. My goal is to make things for myself with the yarn. I tend to give all the things away lol
Thanks for that info!! I’m the same way…I feel like my gift knit pile is always bigger than the pile I make for myself. I’m trying to balance that more this year too!
I love BFL for socks!
Sorry you were unwell Your knitting and crochet projects are lovely The throw you finished is gorgeous Congratulations!
Thank you, Debra!❤
I too subscribe to Farmers Daughter. Love their yarns. My warmest Sox are all made with BFL. It’s a sturdy yarn and living in New England, they always keep my feet warm and toasty.
Thank you for sharing this! ❤ Do you have any favorite brands?
@@ThePineCottage I love Garthenor. It’s a fine fingering weight but plumps up when washed. I get mine at The Woolly Thistle online. They’re in New Hampshire. It also has that crunchy feel, but I have no issues with it. There’s also West Yorkshire Spinners. Their BFL is DK weight. You can buy it at Wool Warehouse. I don’t know if you’ve ever bought from them. They’re located in the UK. Prices are very reasonable, including shipping. And you get your yarn in a few days.
@@camsnow2856 Thanks so much! I will check them out!
I'm so glad you are better. You look naturally beautiful with no makeup and the cute glasses. I have the 'no frills' sweater in my 'to do'... I love it, and hope I can complete it without too many errors. Love your videos.. this is my first time finding you. Going off to find more and more. Thanks so much. love, hugs, prayers to to and yours.
Thank you so much, Barbara!❤️ What a sweet compliment. 🥰 Good luck with your No Frills! I have to say, so far, it is lovely to knit! Welcome to the channel! I’m so happy you’re here! ❤️
Just found your knitting video. Enjoy the fact you're from NE Ohio, I am too. #BFLSOCK
Woolens and Nosh has a Targhee sock base that is more durable than merino too. The Targhee socks are my longest lasting so far but I just put a BFL one in the rotation so hope that holds up better too. Thanks for another great episode.
Another great, informative and inspirational episode! I had no idea about “BFL” content yarn. I too will be watching out for that when I knit socks; thank you! ❤
Thank you, Jeanette!! ❤ I’m glad it was helpful to more people than just me! 😊
Hi Nicole
This is my first time seeing your podcast. I really enjoyed it. I like your philosophy of taking your time with your knitting and that you don't feel that you have to rush to finish things. You want and should enjoy your knitting! That is real life as you said. It made feel better about my knitting. I am a crocheter for most of my life and pretty fast at it. I love to crochet and always wanted to learn to knit. I learned during COVID and am not very fast. I love knitting socks and also joined the Farmer's Daughter Sock Squad. I also like to knit my socks concurrently sonthat I have a complete pair. I loved your other projects and may try the crochet blanket project. What is the pattern you are using for that? Thanks for sharing your making and I will watch again. Glad younare feeling better.
Thank you so much Stacey, and welcome! ❤️ I modified the Battenberg Blanket by Sandra of Cherry Heart (she has a crochet podcast here on UA-cam). Good luck with your socks and if you choose to crochet the blanket! You can’t go wrong with granny squares! 🥰
I have always wanted to knit socks. I have make a few throughout my knitting life but have never liked it much. I just retired and started an UA-cam Chanel and one of my objectives this year is to find a way to knit and most importantly to like to knit socks … I looooved hearing the Information about the yarn and I’m for sure going to research more. Thank you for such good information ❤
Good luck with your socks, Taciana!
Oh, you had it hard. It is never fun and very contagious!
Beautiful yarns and love all the makes great to see you Nicole
Thank you. Nancy! Great to hear from you!❤
Thanks, Gina!❤ This was the first time I’ve experienced pink eye and I hope it never happens again! The goop is real! 😂
Pretty yarns for your squares.
I love BFL for socks! I’ve been knitting my husband socks for awhile and I now have a LYS -Good Fibrations where the owner/dyer has BFL and the qualities of the fibre are AMAZING! The first things you’re going to notice is when you wash them. I do machine wash with warm or cold water and a fabric softener in the rinse and hand to dry. They come out so beautifully. My first time with you. ❤
Thank you so much for this information, Roxanne! I was wondering how they wash up!😊 And thanks for joining us!❤
I enjoyed your podcast! This was my first time and I will be watching for more for sure.
I agree about BFL...great for socks!! It has a pretty sheen to it that I like too.😊
Thank you, Jenny!❤ Welcome!!😊 Oh, good to hear from people who are familiar with BFL…I love learning new things!
I definitely will look into the bfl wool for sock, learn something new every day
I’m curious to see how it washes up!
Glad all are better now.
Thank you, Roxey!! ❤
We had that too, my sister sent me the cdc info on adenovirus, sounds too familiar!! Glad you’re better!
Thank you, Sonia!❤ That is exactly what I think it was…glad you are better too!😊
Pink eye is horrible. Especially when your eyes glue shut.
👁️👁️Sorry you had to go thru that. Thanks for the inspo! 💛
Thank you! (I don’t know what happened to my last comment) 😂
What are your favorite dpns? It is also my preferred method for socks and I am loving my Caspian dpns from Knit Picks.
I’m a chiaogoo girl all the way…I’ll be chatting about this in the next video! 😊
Noticed markers on your sock. How often do you put one?
Thanks for asking! I put one every 20 rows…I can chat more about this in the next monthly update at the end of the month if it’s helpful!😊
