Great job thanks for keeping it simple and to the point best video I’ve seen
Awesome, glad it helped
Andy, just watch this video and it is by far the best and most comprehensive video on this subject I have watched. I had no idea that electrical harness slid off of that metal bracket like that and no other video except yours showed it. Thanks dude.
Thanks for the feedback, glad the video helped you out 👍
👍👍 Thank yoy it's very smooth &clear to understand 👍👍👍.
Very good trainer I like what you explained
This was nice and simple!!!
Excellent. Thank you very much!
Really helpful- thanks do much
Great video .
Thx for showing the types of sockets for sensors
You’re welcome 👍
The code that I just got on my Kia Rio is PO420 ... I thought that Code was Upstream oxygen sensor code? Hmm
Very straightforward for me to understand thoroughly, thank you for the video 😊
You’re welcome. Thanks for the feedback
Very well done video
Thanks
Thanks so much my trainer
👍
Very good video I give it a 10
Thank you, I appreciate it
If I get the p0420 can I just replace the upstream or do I have to replace both up and downstream? Assuming it’s the sensors and not the catalytic converter.
Those o2's are a bear to remove! My daughter has a '13 rio lx. 2 weeks ago,she got a check engine light come on. Took it to O'Reilly and the code was a downstream o2 sensor. Bought a new one, replaced the old after a hour long battle(had to buy a set of ramps, good investment) Then 2 weeks later, engine check light on again. Had it diagnosed again and this time the upstream was going bad. Replaced that one . I thought it kinda funny that the sensors played out within 2 weeks of each other. Or was I suppose to to change them at the same time? Not sure. But you got to have the two o2 sockets and and some kind of lube spray or it's not coming off. The check light went off after 3 cycles of start and drive.
Usually the upstream sensors go first. The downstream on the Kia Rio is hard to remove if stuck due to the placement. The upstream is easier since you can access it from the top. Sometimes running the car for a while first helps, since it heats up the connection.
Finally I replaced O2 sensor 1
but still have check engine light with code p2626 !
Did i do something wrong?
If the check engine light is on and it’s just the 02 sensor, will the light go off after I install the new one or do I have to do something else to make the check engine light go away?
I reset mine after the work is done so everything is clear. It should go out on it’s own after a few drive cycles.
P2096 ??
I used oil penetration and breaker bar but no use
Couldn’t open it
Is there any other solution?
Thanks
Try a crescent wrench and hit it with a sledge hammer. If that doesn’t work, try using heat. A blow torch on the connection point, or run the vehicle to get the exhaust pipe hot.
What voltage should your upstream oxygen sensor show ?
Should fluctuate between 0.1 - 0.9
@@PhillipsVision mine is reporting mA .. milliamperes
a question. the code it sent was p2192? And why didn't you start the car to find out what problem it causes in your car?
The P2192 is a rich code, and one of the causes is a faulty O2 sensor. This vehicle also had a P0420 code which had been cleared. Both sensors needed to be replaced. This video only showed the upstream
So what’s the difference of P0120 vs P0130?
P0120 is the Throttle Position Sensor, and the P0130 is the O2 Sensor
Do the steps work on 07 rios
Not sure, I believe in 2012 they changed things
What is penatrating oil?
Like a WD40 spray
What size open face socket is it
7/8”
@@PhillipsVision thanks
Whick socket to open the sensor there are too many sizes
Most are 7/8 or 22mm
Please what’s the name of this sensor, does it have a code?
There are two sensors, they are called oxygen sensors and there is an “upstream” and a “downstream”
State the model year of the vehicle you're working on!
The model is mentioned in the title of the video…”Kia Rio”. It’s a 2013
P2191 kia sportage 2.4 ....2015
Same. I think it's my upstream o2 because I put one on there with the new cat and problems ever since. When I unplug the upstream o2 it runs good again.
The Rio from my girlfriend has the same lights on. It seems like a comman issue. The usage goes sometime thru the roof and you can't kick it at all. I hate Kia rios since I got one thru my girlfriend. It's the most unreliable pice of shit of a car that I ever owned. I just want to repair it so I can light it on fire and drive it down a cliff. Never Kia again!
Ps: thanks for the great video really helped me
what year is your Kia?
Where the hell is the downstream sensor on a 2004 Rio?!?!
Hi Andy, I couldn't find your email address of yours. Do you know what this code means on a Kia? P0030 $07E8 HO2S HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT BANK 1 SENSOR 1?
Most likely there is a problem with the heater circuit in the upstream O2 Sensor in bank 1. You should replace it
@@PhillipsVision the O2 sensor is marketed as an "after" and "before" catalysator. Which one should I get?
@@altercreed09 Before, that is known as the “Upstream”, or “Sensor 1”
