I never met Kelly, but somehow became friends with his childhood friends. It's interesting to hear stories about him growing up and then to hear him allude to some of those things. From everything I can gather, he is a very good dude.
I ran across this interview today. Some things resonated. You try to find Peace and balance in all areas of your life. You end up with more lessons. Until you find self love you will always just keep trying.
I love Kelly slater man what a raw interview. I love his ability to look at himself the way he does. Such a sense of spirituality. I think the exact same way. Deal with the same insecurities but don’t have the fame. I can relate so much though to trying to cover up my insecurities by doing things I was good at whether it was surfing or ice hockey or fishing. Always trying to run from myself

A phenomenon that will only grow which I'm thankful for in a world full of wounded people. Apparently, he's struggled with drugs and alcohol, so I don't know how he'd feel about my comment lol. He may have become a zealot but there is a distinction to be made in different substances obviously :)
