I hope you are doing well! Thanks so much for sharing your art life, I have so much gratitude for you for making my mental health better when you share new content!
That's seriously the nicest comment I've ever gotten. Thank you sooooooo much for your continual support and I'm so glad that you've found my videos entertaining
I am starting my first year in Emily Carr and I was so worried about it, but thanks to all your videos I feel a little less anxious. thanks ))) are there any tips you wish you knew in the beginning of art school? as an international student I am really worried in getting along with others... hahaha, anyways thank you!!!
Heyy thanks for the comment !! Dw about making friends because the way the classes are set up it’s impossible not to meet at least somebody. I’m sure you’ll have a lot of fun. My biggest tip would be to manage your time properly between projects because you get a lotttttt lmao
@@alexgraffart3046 thank you sm for replying! haha I can't mange my time in school even, but I will try my best ))) this Monday i will visit Emily car for some tour... I believe? anyway I will say hi if I see you!!! ps I love ur art style!!!
Gonna make comments as I watch: My heart DROPPED when you said it was your final vlog...of your first year. The spacing of the text made me worry for a second lol Apparently, Emily Carr is going to be phasing out the foundation year for 2023 I believe!! I recently phoned the admissions office to ask a couple questions and they mentioned that :D You'd now just go straight to your specialisation. I absolutely love the print you made!! The tarot look combined with your graffiti-like style is just incredibly chefs kiss!! Does the Emily Carr school year extend to the summer? Or is it like high school with a break in between spring and fall? Have you found the critiquing to be harsh? Also, does the school prioritise the final product over the process, vice versa, or equally? I'm so jealous of your friend group, wow 😭 I go to a tiny school with a horrible social culture (imagine middle school but worse) and people. Yall look so interesting and unique, I can't wait to go to art school and meet cool people like that, I feel like art students are always so creative, both in their work and personality. ✍️ Take ✍️ printmaking ✍️ for ✍️ the ✍️ view ✍️ from ✍️ the ✍️ studio ✍️ Okay I'm actually totally planning on mixing printmaking and bookmaking for my reapplication portfolio!! I'm gonna make and bind a little storybook!!
Omggg thank you so much for the comments !!! I’ve been collecting questions about ecu from UA-cam and Instagram so that I’ll be able to make a Q&A / recap of the foundation year video in the next couple of weeks ! I’ll make sure to add all that info and more in there ! And I totally agree with you on the highschool vs artschool friends thing. My school before ecu was honestly so shitty and I had a really tough time but now that I’m at art school I’ve been so much more happy and I finally feel like I belong :)
There are lots of jobs no matter what major who decide to go into ! Most of the skills are interchangeable between them so it really doesn’t matter what you study specifically. Fine arts is cool though because you have the ability to broaden your art practice which might even help you get a job in the future.
