The only thing that is missing out of the Book Nook kit is a library ladder for when you make those extra tall book cases. Maybe different sizes that have have some empty slots for decorations.
Octave - Part Four by Harrie has a ladder attached to her book cases.
I wonder if you can cheat one using a ladder and a second story of book cases. Now I need to play, I have too many ideas.

@@piperbird7193 create a mezanine with a ladder going up to it with 2 stories of floor to ceiling bookcases
@@piperbird7193 You may not even need a full second story! If you make a tall enough platform and kinda merge the bookcases into it, then add more books on top of the platform, then you can add a ladder and I’m betting it could still work!

I wish they would bundle the kits like 2 for $8 or 3 for $12 or something bc for one pack it’s too pricey. Also for the pricy I want a lot more of basic swatches.
where i live we have to pay $7😭
in the uk we have to pay £5 which is like over $6 :(
That's what I dislike the most about kits,there is no way the production value of those kits justify any price over 3$
@@fruity4820 I bought the pastel pop kit and that definitely felt worthy of the 5$ pricetag for me but you're right about most not being that high in production value
I wish they'd let us bundle them even if there was no discount (although I really wish we could get a discount for bundling because you're right, they're pricey.) I don't want to buy them individually even if I was just getting two and also they had this feature in Origin (no discount sadly) so I'm betting they won't add it to the EA App either because people won't buy if they realize how fast they add up or else it's too complicated to code into the EA app which is kinda stupid if so.
If they just gave a discount for buying multiple like you suggested though I'm pretty sure people would be more willing to buy them in general! 3 mix and match for $12 dollars is definitely comparable to a Stuff Pack plus if you only care about CAS or you only care about Build/Buy then you get more bang for your buck!
I'm also so irritated that we can't bundle a kit in place of a Stuff Pack! I was foolish and a bit crazy so I got all of the Stuff Packs at one point (well, I bought a lot and then the rest through bundling); now I can't do the Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack custom bundles anymore because Kits aren't an option! I just assumed they'd always be making Stuff Packs; I had no idea they'd replace them with Kits and then refuse to add them in the big bundles.
The problem with hats in this game is that they sit too high on the head. Beanies usually go over at least part of the ear
In my climate they need to cover the whole ear, because we get winters here.

@@ragnkjasame here. I dislike most winter hats in the Sims 4. I think one (possibly from cats & dogs) is the only one with the ears covered.
@@sirromap1021 Exactly, and it's got a puppy face on it. I like it, but not every Sim who needs warm clothing is going to vibe with a puppy face.
@@ragnkja Even if you assume that it's not so cold that the ears have to be covered, the hats in the sims 4 still sit too high on the head. It looks like they're about to pop off and fall.
I really wish the modular bookshelves had all the same swatches as the dream home decorator modular furniture, it would’ve been so cool to put them together 🥲
Honestly I wish all packs kits etc had a matching swatch (not just white and black), say two wood tones that are universal throughout every single pack and then two or three that are unique to that pack.
Wood items are always hard to match. It really gets on my nerves. And also, some of good doors that are available for the short wall are not available for the medium and tall walls.
I am BEGGING the sims to let us buy multiple kits at once it’s driving me insane at this point with all these kits 😭😭
If they had a 3 for $10 bundle I’d actually buy some

I would kill for them to do a wallpaper kit next. I know that seems boring but we need more neutrals beyond one beige one grey! I want muted pinks and greens and browns! That and more bed swatches. Bedrooms are so hard for me because every bed has patterned sheets

Whereas I’m from northern Norway, and it looks _really_ weird to me, like they’re wearing the hats indoors as a costume rather than as functional winter outdoor garments.

The grunge kit is so much of my middle school wardrobe and I’m here for it. And my nail polish was always chipped. I owned those sunglasses and the necklaces. This is a CAS kit I need.
Would be nice if it was actually grunge tho...

The grunge revival kit is probably the first kit I’d even consider buying-
Yes, the style is similar to the werewolves CAS (I mean, duh, they’re both based on grungy styles, they’re gonna look similar), but the textures look super cool and genuinely quite good, and it’s all stuff I could consistently use
Im not sure if I *will* buy the kit, cause I *hhaattteee* the idea of paying £5 for just a few CAS pieces, but this is the closest I’ve got to considering it
Same, I think that if they made a bundle this would be one of the ones is like to add to my game, some of these have items I would use but I wouldn't justify that much money on something so small in a game, hopefully they create some sort of bundle soon because I am missing out for 🤼♂️

I'm so excited about the rainbow organized bookshelves. I'm a huge reader irl and I know it's like a THING to do rainbow organization. I know so many readers (including myself) that organize like that. It's such a small detail but I'm like overly excited to have my sims organize their book shelves the same way i do.

I'm originally from the Seattle area, and the grunge kit gives me 90s vibes...and I love it. The book nook kit is also really cool. I have way too many ideas for a grunge rock/bookworm loft right now!

i felt like the description of “grunge comeback” rather than grunge itself makes a lot more sense considering grunge isn’t just one thing depending on region/time/particular bands. this is what ppl born after grunge would wear nowadays

During my high school years GRUNGE WAS KING!! So seeing the clothes was a little bit nostalgic for me.
I don't care so much for the coffee table, but for the side tables I absolutely love that they have differnt book swatches with the same wood tone so you can have two matching side tables with slightly different book stacks
Absolutely stoked about the different coloured books in the shelves - I’m so sick of my libraries/studies/offices having a wall of bookshelves with just the same books over and over and over….
@@tungstensmum1491 Ugg, I know! I always make librarys so small or weirdly arranged to avoid this, or I just don't include more than one or two of the same bookshelf

YES! I agree that hats in the sims looks weird, especially winter ones, I fell like they sit too high on the head and should cover ears more

Thanks so much for you video with a complete breakdown on the 2 new Kits. I am a mix of both. I love to spend time in CAS creating my Sims style to match their personality. Then after I find a lot, I spend more time customizing the house/apartment to the Sim's style 🙂
i like book nook but my reaction to every single item in the grudge revival was “oh i have a cc of that already” or “the cc for those is better” especially in terms of the makeup, oversized clothes, nails, and backpacks
Good for you. Some of us play on console and can't get cc so we have to rely on content from the actual game.
The same is true about the book kit. I may not have slotable book shelves but i have items that look a lot like this.
Same. A lot of AH00B's AxA CC is as good or better than the stuff in that pack, and probably moreso in the direction of grunge

The sims should make a cas kit that is like a ‘capsule wardrobe kit’ or something and just fill it with basic everything
or better yet, just update the base game clothes
... and make it base game! especially the basics should be base game. I wish the kits were more specific and niche (some are) so it can spice up your game to your liking

If they keep up this level of quality and versatility with kits I honestly won't mind us getting one or two every roadmap. They're such nice, small, niche additions to your game without spending *too* much money.

It's really funny, the modular book shelves look a lot like the actual modular bookshelves my spouse and I bought at the furniture store here in Japan. Various sizes, orientations, and they can be attached together.
A lot of the hats sit weirdly high and/or tight don't they? I almost never use them despite loving hats irl.
I really like these kits! I've been wanting more CAS stuff like that. The Book nook looks nice even though I wish there were more swatches, and I love the couches.

i really like the new wood paneling wallpaper. as someone who likes to design old school houses, i was very disappointed that there was no good 70-80s wood paneling options. this isnt exactly what i want but i do like it

I was in High School during the original grunge period and I gotta say it was a supremely comfortable era. Not fancy, not polished, but ridiculously comfortable. Also, the look you like of the cargo shorts with a t-shirt and open button-up shirt is the official uniform of GenX and older Millennial guys. Every guy my age has worn this exact look for 20+ (30) years
I don't have the Sims installed on my pc right now, but once I free up space for it again, the grunge kit might be the first kit I buy. It could be better still, but the clothes are cool and for once look like they'll lay decently on larger sims or sims with custom frame like trans sims for example.
If they gave us a preppy kids/teen/ adult clothes kit id actually buy that. Or just a dresses skirts kit in general. Imagine cute little matching crop top lace skirt sets and lace dresses like loveshackfancy or zimmerman with ruffles and eyelet detailing. I can never find cc for it except maybe madlen
Kayla wanting more stuff like this kit just made me think of a expansion pack based on books. It could have jobs like librarian, historian, publisher and tutor.There could be book cafés, tutoring, spaces,etc. And of course a lot of cute, simple and cozy cast and build items. Now I need it😭

I'm pretty excited about the grunge Revivial kit as I've wanted more grunge/alternative-styled clothing for a while. It's definitely a pack aimed at a specific niche but that's what I like about the kits. I kinda wish the book Nook Kits was a full library pack instead
I actually bought both kits today. It's my first time buying a CAS kit but I really love the grunge aesthetic and I wanted the book nook kit the moment I heard the words "modular shelves" lol. I wish they cost less but I honestly love the content in these ones.

So one of my main thoughts on the Book Nook kit was that.. although I can see what they were going for with giving two of each wood swatch with different coloured books, I wish they had learned from Deli's request in Growing Together and instead, each end table / coffee table / bookshelf would have multiple swatches for each wood tone, and with a different configuration of books so that it doesn't all look samey and repetitive. It's minor, but to me I think it would have shown an extra level of thoughtfulness! The stuff is suer pretty though, and I am very tempted to get it.
I love how she says "sorry for the rain outside" but mother nature is helping with the vibes. I mean don't people love reading in a cozy place with tea/coffee when it's raining outside?
haven't gotten the book nook kit yet, so I don't know if they did or not, but with the wall bookshelves it'd be cool to have cross pack compatibility for pets, especially cats, able to jump onto them if you stack them like a book wall staircase.
The book nook kit is PERFECT and came out in the perfect time as My pink sim (not so berry/ the author) just moved into her own house so i can make her her own lil library and have books everywhere.

I was actually quite literally wanting a new restaurant from the gallery when I found out the gallery was down. 😭😭😭 I could've scrapped one together on a normal sized lot, but it was for the 40x20 Tartosa lot and me not being a builder there was no way I was attempting that myself LOL.
