He reminds me exactly of how I get when I'm out of work for too long. You can hear the depression in his voice and he has that forlorn look in the eyes. He's doing a good job covering it up, make no mistake Jack's in a difficult place. He needs to find a club asap for his own mental health, work gives you structure and social interaction, which are two pillars of sound mental health, he's got neither. Once he gets that the turnaround mentally is dramatic, within a week you're out the fog and thinking positively again. He needs it. Good luck.

Exactly what I found myself thinking while watching the interview; he needs to see a therapist if he already isn't seeing one, and he needs to get a club - any club and start playing again. But really well put @Jason

Wilshere's downfall is a part of the story of the modern downfall of Arsenal. He was the golden child. The best player out of our academy in forever. To be fair, he kind of did it to himself.
In Tim Stillman's fairly brutal assessment, he was never smart enough to adapt his playing style to his - very brittle - body.
He should have protected himself more and become a technical maestro who avoids contact as much as possible, but he seemed hell-bent on playing like an old-fashioned English ball-winning midfielder.

Things maybe didn’t work out at West Ham as he hoped for, but I don’t think staying at Arsenal is the right decision especially since he won’t be played that much. Jack Wilshere isn’t “unlucky” with injuries. All modern midfielders go through the same physical stress. His bones and tendons were weakened by years of smoking, drinking, late nights and poor diet. The dehydration from hangovers alone probably weakened his body so he got injured repeatedly where other players that looked after themselves didn’t

I based my own game around his style, and got scouted few times too. Still have his poster on my wall. He was and will always remain an incredible player, the record books speak for itself.
I just want him to know that anything is possible if you put 101% in it! Jacks ability is second to none, and I’m confident he will find something soon (even if it is aboard). Am an Arsenal fan and was a huge believer in Wilshere's talents when he first blew up. He's clearly shown self-awareness but doesn't have enough people around him telling him the honest brutal truth. Clubs at the top level sees him as a liability long-term and that's why no offers are coming. At the end of the day he's still a multi-millionaire and if he still has the passion for the game, he should take smaller wages and build himself up again at a level that's 1-2 level down from his Arsenal heydays.

He's with Arsenal now, Arteta's saying he still has it all. It's just his injury scare that is stopping clubs from signing him again. I hope he has a good physio to train, treat his past injuries so that it doesn't repeat. If he can do that, he's still got 5-6 years of playing and he can still do it at the Middle east, France, Netherlands, China, Japan, Italy, Spain. Or he can still do it in England. I have no doubt about that but he can't be earning as much or get to choose who or where. If he can accept the reality and work hard, there's always a place for Wilshere.

Tough interview to watch but the cynic in me sees him being held back by either unreasonable wage demands or something we don't know about him behind the scenes. He’s just said there was an offer from the club he trained with, then goes on to say the door is shut on him? His injuries, his performance levels and now I’m seeing it - his attitude - are the issues clubs have with signing him. He says it’s difficult to find motivation training on his own - but there are clubs that would offer him a contract if he wasn’t so choosy. He looks depressed and for him it might seem that there is no way forward. I have great sympathy with that. But it might do him good to swallow his pride a bit and appreciate the opportunity to play, not worry about being “too good”. Prove it on the pitch.

So it turns out he did have offers - we now know he rejected an offer from Derby because “it weren’t for” him.
Here he’s going on about how ‘nobody’ would give him a chance when that’s clearly not true. Makes this interview seem really disingenuous.
    Unbelievable.

So tough to see this. I truly wish Jack gets a chance to prove himself again. He is definitely hungry, has a lot of ability and skill. At a decent age too.
Keep your head up Jack. Something will come along. ❤️

Jack was truly a special player for us arsenal fans - at the height of his powers, he was pure class, always playing some incredible football and it truly breaks my heart to see him at this stage. Would love to see him at least be able to train with the Arsenal squad, having a vet like him could be beneficial for our young attacking midfielders! I will wish him the best of luck until he hangs up his booths, would love to see him find true success as a coach someday too, I've always felt he had a great read of the game and was a geniunely good personality. His mention of the MLS would be very interesting, as an American I would love to see him come over here - I think he could do really well in the MLS and make a name for himself here too! MLS clubs may not be at the forefront of world football but they have fantastic stadiums and atmospheres, I'm sure he would enjoy it
EDIT: Just saw he's been offered a role at Wigan, extraordinarily happy to see that. Hopefully he finds a resurgence of his career there, they are a great club.

Surely Derby could do with him? He might have to lower his wage demands but him and Ravel Morrison in midfield would be quality!
