- Muzsikas collect old tunes from an old Gypsy village musician Gheorghe Covaci, "Cioata". He was a great musician played together with Jewish musicians before the War. He remembered numerous Jewish tunes, many of them considered to be unknown earler.
Thank you all for saving our musical tradition! Hungarian, Romanian, Jewish or Gipsy? All of them. We have a highly interwoven common Central/Eastern European history.
You are speaking about two different things. In this video you can see 6 musicians, three Hungarians (left side), they are the memebers of Muzsikas from Budapest and three Romanians, the are the Fraci Florea and Gheorge Covaci. The music they play together is a Jewish tune from the area Maremures, Romania.
You people have to fight here as well...can`t you just enjoy this great artist`s music???
This looks like a course or a teaching by heart given by Master Cioata to the prime violin of the Magyar Muzsikas group. And I am impressed by the respectfully attention payed by the Muzsikanter to Master Cioata. And also by the humorous kindness of Master Cioata to everybody and to his guest.
It is a great luck that this Jewish treasure pass through the awefull events and centuries to us....playing by “Goy or Jewish “ it is not a problem: the music has to survive !!
What musicianship! What heart! What a smile!
Nagyon szep! Priceless.
Priceless❤
...a place packed with true masterpieces of wooden construction craftsmen - churches, monasteries, sculptures in wood - wood doors, wicker and straw plaiting, weaving, painting icons on glass, furriers and knitting, natural dyeing of wool, ceramic craft) and part of the historical Maramures
Master Cioată not played before the war, but after, he died about 10 years and was the largest non-violinist who always played without a score.

Beautiful music beautifuly played! Greetings to all from Belgrade! I still remember concert!
this is why the world must go on!
Great music is ageless!
Cel mai vesel om,pe care l-am văzut in viata mea❤❤❤❤❤
Look at the way he holds the bow
+Olaf De music is meant for the ears :-D
I think your comment shows you have little affinity with the enjoyment you can get out of playing music.
when I look I see an older man having the time of his life playing the music he obviously loves playng.
+TICETOCAR Hey I never said anything is wrong with an unorthodox playing technique, I was just a bit surprised by the way he holds the bow, nothing beyond that. I have no idea how you decided that I think he does something wrong, as far as it sounds good I don't care how somebody plays. And by the way I think he's a true professional and eastern european music rocks.
Old man having a great time. Play that violin

actually ,in the video they all speak hungarian.have you noticed that? why?
Bela Bartok collected traditional hungarian and traditional romanian music from Transilvania, to say the truth.
That,s true! But bjocc1 write about "they are playing Hungarian music from Gyimes...", that,s not right, so he must be little bit oriented about what he write here about that!
Too important to loose.
hol a teljes videó?
Na ez igen
Ashei, ca bine zici!!!Shi fara cetera!
Örömzene...
Lets not forget that Cioata is romanian, living in Romania.
Of course these people are not Jewish or Gypsies! They were murdered in Second world war!
Let us be happy that these beautiful music could survive!!
esto es un jam sesion y lo demas es tonteria
These people never were jewish, never were gypsy. They just some Hungarian people. They are playing beautifull type of Hungarian music from Gyimes (part of Romania now, part of old historian Hungary). Thats all...
Then MUSIC is Jewish, not the people playing the music.

Mester Cioată nem játszott a háború előtt, de miután ő meghalt 10 éves, és a legnagyobb nem-hegedűs, aki mindig is kotta nélkül.
