Is this the same as the Jopix PT31? And what are the two components either side of the diode nearest the power input, which look like ferrite tubes? Mine burned a wire out in one of these components, which I replaced successfully, but I still don't know what they do...
I've not had the Jopix PT31 so don;t know. Normally when wiring burns, the radio must be drawing excessive current. 1) power lead polarity reversed with no or too high a fuse. 2) very high SWR 3) previous owner has messed about with it. I've three similar type tiny sets in the scrap bin that people have messed with & caused the radio's demise. Richard
@@ukfmcbradioservicingTango21 I have an Abrecht to put in my jimmny was going to put a mini orbiter on the roof rack wondering if it will be good enough
@@richardmorris66 I've no idea how it will work on a roof rack, but looking the aaerial up it seems similar to a mini springer. I had a mini springer body mounted in the centre roof of a Nissan Primera estate car I once owned. Maximum range was reduced to around 6 miles, but I had to go in an underground car park with it several times a day. Richard, G0OJF, UK
@@ukfmcbradioservicingTango21 A spare fuse if worth all the extra cash! Makes you wonder what components allowed it to go to 4 watts? I suspect it is just random luck with component selection.
I have a CRT Xenon and the receive is OK but it's the size that makes it good to use mobile. Very discreet and can be mounted away from prying eyes.

Which is the best mini CB to use
Probably the CRT S-Mini.

So does the CRT Millenium have the same chassis as the PNI 6500?
Yes, but this comes with the spare fuse in the holder & actually does 4W on tx. The PNI only managed 3.2W

So your claim to fame is going to school with Captain Slow, James May. Well, he is maybe more famous, but you do more useful things.
