Moved to npr in 1969. Trinity was cow pasture. Boot ranch! North of NPR on St. Road 52 land was 295 dollars for half acre. My dad bought 10 on hick Rd.
Go to James E. Grey Preserve, I was born here and didn't discover it until I was 30. It's a riverwalk boardwalk over the Pithlachascotee River and it's the perfect place for showing someone some Florida!
Just moved down to FL from NY and I'm in NPR and loving it! Only downside I would say is how far it's from Clearwater, Tampa and St. Pete. It's one of the few places that are still affordable and has alot to offer in its community!
Excellent video! I moved to the little & 54 area from palm harbor in 2020 and absolutely love it. I think NPR gets the bad wrap because most people are very aware of holiday. I grew up in palm harbor and all I knew of Pasco was holiday. The traffic is very reasonable if you stay east of 19 and starkey is amazing
I just moved to NPR from Sarasota. I find the people nice, its not too overcrowded, prices aren't as bad. Its a pretty place. The downtown is more appealing than Bradenton. Just has a more natural look everywhere its great.
My parents lived very close to that area and volunteered at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center. The medical center was apparently bought by HCA which just made national news for poor management and patient care since they bought it about a year ago. My father and mother are rolling over in his graves : (
I moved to Newport Ritchie eight years ago. I still live in the same home, I don’t really know any of the people because I have to travel to Tampa from work and work is my life. But I love Newport Ritchie so much. If I ever do decide to move it will be in the same town.
@@sintroisbeautifulday6389 I live downtown 3 blocks from the river and I am not in a flood zone. I'm not saying a direct hit hurricane wouldn't flood my home but currently I am not in the zone. From my house to the airport is about 45 minutes via the toll road.
My mom move me to New Port Richey when I was about five years old. Until I graduated high school and went in the military. We lived about six blocks south of downtown. Downtown was nice back then (mid 80s) but the revitalization it has undergone in the last couple decades has been amazing. In the mid/late 80s the Little Rd and Trinity sprawl basically didn’t exist. A lot of orange groves and pastures. Now people from Trinity announce themselves with the same smugness as Hampton elitists. It’s funny!
I use to live there too! We moved there around mid-late 80’s. Went to Minni P Lock, then gulf middle then moved. US 19 sucked then I can only imagine now
It really depends in that area, if you’d like to reach out via email to info@livingintampafl.com I’d love to do more research and come up with specific info for you. 👍
Nona lived in NPR , I visited 15 years ago, when there was a cash n Cary. She lived on Blayton st. I loved it. She passed away. So I never went back but I wanted to.
Gas stations? I. In Ocala, on hwy 200 which isn’t that long, there are too many gas stations, too many convenient stores and too many car washes, it’s crazy, makes no sense
I have never heard about that. I will have to ask my father in law. There are a few private airports a little further north on Ridge Rd (Hidden Lake) and a couple others on Hwy 52.
Hacienda hotel had a colorful history. Joseph Kennedy, Gloria Swanson, flapper parties. Mouth of the Cotee River are stilt houses Johnny Cash owned one. Babe Ruth had a summer home along the Cotee. Oh Moon Lake. Dont go there at night or day lol. Good vid my man.
Good news - renovations are finally done on the Hacienda! It's now open and just GORGEOUS inside! Whenever possible, original fixtures and masonry was retained, and all new elements are chosen to match the vintage styling of the original! We live just a few miles away, so we have not had occasion to stay at the hotel, however we have had breakfast several times at the on-site restaurant "Sasha's", and all items on the menu are delicious & reasonably priced. (Try a "Pink Palmer" - that's an Arnold Palmer, made with pink lemonade - my own concoction & delicious, if I do say so myself!) As for downtown, the New Port Richey Chamber of Commerce, along with several investors have dumped MILLIONS of dollars into renovating the entire downtown area! Fresh new storefronts & businesses, along with a complete makeover of Simms Park, create an all-new experience while still maintaining an authentic "Old Florida" feel! My wife & I moved from upstate NY down to New Port Richey around 20 years ago, and we just INSTANTLY felt "at home"! Since then, it's only gotten better & our adopted hometown's future looks brighter than ever!
the best thing I did was move from this city nothing to do I live in Hallandale Beach Fl which is close to Miami and Hollywood Beach Fl the night life is great it's a lot of jobs that's available and paying good.
There is nothing special about New Port Richey .. everywhere you go you see nothing but homeless people and drug addicts you see people sleeping all on the side of the road in the woods behind all these buildings it's really sad... you would think with all the money that this state makes they would try to help some of these people and clean up all this mess..
I’ve been in new port richey and for several days and maybe saw 1-2 homeless people. I live in nyc and I see hundreds of homeless everyday. There isn’t a comparison, there’s a reason why so many people are fleeing the north and going to states like Florida. Florida is properly ran, you are getting a reduction on tolls in Florida. That’s unheard of in the north. In nyc everything just keeps going up and the middle class keeps getting pushed out
Very helpful video, I think it’s a cute affordable area. Just bummed it’s almost an hour from airport and 40 min from beach because coast of port Richey is private homes pretty much. Thank you!!
I just bought a townhome in new port richey in the last year as a rental property in the same lennar waters edge community you mentioned! The area itself is quiet and peaceful. Floridians in general are hospitable. Southern hospitality is way better than northern hostility you get in north states like New York and Jersey
ive lived in new port richey since my freshmen year of hs lol everyone gives me so much crap about this area and I understand why because it does have alot of issues but tbh I dont mind living here I live right downtown its a bit of a small town which I like a little bit thanks for making a video on this btw moonlake is nuts
Thanks for watching Carter! Ya, New port Richey definitely has it's areas.. It's super cool though seeing how many businesses they are adding to the downtown area!
I have a sister that did live there. Here name is Tina and her son is names Duncan. Her father is from Savannah Georgia. His name is George West. If anyone knows here please respond!
Thanks for showing scenery. Unlike others that just show themselves
Thanks for stopping by our beautiful city! NPR has definitely been revitalized and continuing to grow as a great place to visit or live.

I grew up in the subdivision behind the Spartan Manor in the 70's and 80's. It was a rich neiborhood at the time. I now live in N9va Scotia, Canada.
How’s the weather up there ehh?
These are so helpful! Love the drone shots so we can get a feel for the area. Will you do one for Land O' Lakes, Lutz and Odessa?
Absolutely! I've touched on those area in previous videos, but am planning to go more in depth and talk specifically about each one in future videos.
