Actually… I had to look up a formula for this scenario, as it’s not quite so simple. (If you somehow always succeeded twice before failing, then you would have to play 3 new games each time… But if you fail faster, on the first or second attempt, then sets of 3 can overlap) The upshot is, we ultimately need to multiply by the factor 91/81 to get the true answer (rather than 3, like I did initially): 729 * 91/81 = 819 games… So he was still a bit lucky, but not nearly as much as I originally thought (Intuitively, we can think of 91/81 = 1 + 1/9 + 1/81 as just probabilistically adding extra games: 100% of the time we need at least 1 unique game per set, but 1/9th of the time we succeed once first and need at least 2 unique games, and 1/81st of the time we succeed twice and need 3 unique games) The general formula for expected trials until n successes in a row is [1 + p + p^2 + … + p^(n-1)] / p^n, which can also be written as [p^(-n) - 1] / [1 - p], where p = 1/9 was our probability of success. This second form does not demonstrate the answer as some factor times 729, but it’s easier to calculate in general
@@Muhahahahaz Well the statistics also become weird because you're looking at a streak, which includes previous trials - so say S represents success and F represents failure for the 1/9, a record of SFFSSFFFFSFFFSF would not be separated out into just "SFF" "SSF" "FFF" "SFF" "FSF", since you wouldn't say "Well you missed the chance 5 times" when you had one two-streak and three isolated successes. I remember being on a server helping someone got one of the rps achievement
Only lobotomy can make him feel sane now
The trye RPS master is now: Capt_. Congragulations!
0:49 buddy just left it in like nothing happened
i was looking for this comment lmao
The RPS achievments were so much fun to get with my friend. Basically what we did was queue for casuals. Then we would sit in just some corner of the map or in really dumb spots as scout and just constantly RPS. It was amazing too cause we'd have people watch us as they'd leave their spawn or we'd be in some random corner on a map and all someone would hear is just 2 scouts yelling about RPS. That was so much fun
Hey, how many other players did you give the achievement to?
I ALMOST gave it to 7 different people I think?? The 3rd one always seems to be the most evasive...
I remember unlocking this one completely random out of the blu while struggling eternally to earn a different achievement, funny how that works! congrats on unlocking this one!!!
I tried grinding this achievement for three days then one day on complete accident I got it😂
I like to imagine that poor gibus sniper thinks he just beat the rock paper scissors master 3 times in a row in the SAME exact way, and caused him to just rage quit. Dude's going to be haunted with that for weeks
6:58 What a hunk😭😭😭

You posted more just like I said. Thank you

Funny how the first and the last class you played rock paper scissors with was the sniper
this is a certified rock moment
That’s impressive that you managed to get both! Congrats!

Bro probably spent 6 months to get this achievement 💀
Some of these achievements require a ridiculous amount of luck 💀
NUH UH!!!
@@TonyF2NUH UH!!! I WAITED 5 MONTHS TO REPLY HERE!
Once i played a game in P.E. class where we would have to do rock paper scissors, my strategy was just to choose scissors over and over, i got like 6 in a row and won, then when i went again i almost won again but my brain messed up and i did a half way between a rock and scissors and lost because they considered it a rock for some reason.
9:30 u cant. u dont have any. u play tf2..
Please please I can’t fucking watch other UA-cam videos when these are so good please do more

the noob
As I was watching this I wondered if I had the achievement since I use the taunt a ton. I luckily already have it! I got it back in 2014 and that’s when the taunt came out I think. I also got Scissors that same year but a few months later.
CONGRATS ON GETTING THE ACHIEVEMENTS!!!!
I got "on the rocks" achievement back in 2014 in the first days of this rps taunt existing, BUT i can't get "running with scissors" achievement 'till this day...
You are mad for doing this, but never gave up. Truly a hero
>Changes name to Rock Paper Scissors Master and immediately gets a swath of players wanting to play agaist him
Truly Team Fortress 2 at it's finest
that poor gibus sniper at the end must've been so confused and betrayed when you left the game
me trying to win pubs: wtf are my teammates doing
my teammates:
HAHAHA
Im happy to be subscribed before your channel exploded
Elmaxo style done well
Watching this made me check my steam account to see if I have these achievements. Somehow I got both of these back in 2016 when I was still a kid. On the Rocks on July 30th and Running with Scissors on Nov 19th.
It's a miracle!
It's a bloomin' Pissmas miracle!
I love how you immediately got to the point instead of dancing around the point for 2 minutes just to build unnecessary tension
my man came back then dipped lol
I nearly got on the rocks, and then somebody headshot me as i was playing my last rock
