Great video, consider me subbed. Just one thing I wanted to point out though: the a77ii actually has video recording in XAVC S format at up to 50Mbps (you may need to upgrade the firmware to get it) Then if you set your color profile (creative style) to Neutral with -3,-3,-2, it's actually not too bad.
Kane. Glad you mentioned that! I totally forgot about that XAVC S format. Hmm yeah but the video capabilities are not where i‘d like to have them for such a high price. The A6500 does it much better for example if you can sacrifice some batterylife 😉 btw welcome on board!
I completely agree--video really isn't its strong suit (bought a GH5 for my video needs). I picked up the the a77ii with the 16-50 f2.8 lens for $1000 altogether though so I'm not too mad. Anywho, keep up the good work!
The A68 is a beginner camera is a camera for beginners or amateurs, but the A77ii is a professional model. It was the flagship A-mount camera upon its release. Not the best camera for videograph, but that holds up for every A-mount model.
@@pascalbraendle it is the professional APS-C camera. It has the same functions as the A99II as far as photography goes even using the same AF system, the a99ii however has more stuff for video like T mode aperture, where instead of clicking stops it controls the aperture analogically.
yo guy thats not a mirrorless camera its a Translucent Mirror System (SLT / DSLT) but yes mirrorless systems like the A7 Series lineup are the future in my opinion.
@@pascalbraendle it's alright, thanks for your response... But incase you have sony you want to let go.. you can reach me and I'll see to it.. preferably 4k Mirrorless
Not to bother you but it's obvious that you know better about the E mount, when SLTs like the A-77 A-77II A-99 came out they were the only cameras that could do face detect autofocus in video mode thanks to the translucent "mirror" which was fixed but in order to do so you lost between 1/2 and 1/3 of EV. Another problem was the design of the lenses that were not very well suited for video as the diaphragm was mechanical, that's the reason why Sony only allowed autofocus to be used with a fixed aperture. Another problem was the noise of both the diaphragm and the old autofocus system with the motor in the camera, the SSMs did it better but the diaphragm problem remained the same. When Sony solved the problem of being able to do AF directly on the sensor at that time it was the beginning of the end for the A mount, it had no future. The A-77 and A77II are not made of plastic although they have certain parts such as the microphone area that are made of plastic, the interior is made of magnesium and I have had it for many years and never had any problems due to it being fragility or being poorly protected from the rain, the lenses are a different story. The A-mount was made by Minolta not Konica and when they merged they continued producing the A-mount which was later bought by Sony, which had to deal with the color treatment on its own because Konika Minolta would not sell them the patents since that was what Konika Minolta ran its business with.
Honestly, I've never gotten a super good and detailed response to one of my videos like this ever. This blew my mind and I had to read it multiple times. Very well written sir. Thank you for your time to give your insights and experiences on this almost retro style cameras from Sony. 🙏🏻 Indeed Sony's A-Mount had no future. As of now I switched cameras from E-Mount to Canon EF-Mount. I shot 7 years of my career on mirrorless systems. But It felt a bit off recently. All was to clean to easy to get the same results. It got boring. Now I am using a Canon 650D from 2014. AND let me tell you one thing: For me It's now all about how a camera feels to use and not particularly it's specs. Sure fast autofocus and high dynamic range is nice to have but it also can take away the joy of actually creating art. I wish you have an amazing day!
@@pascalbraendle I have an A-7III and an A7RIII with some lenses from the F1.8 group and some Zeiss lenses. For photography, sensors from 2008 onwards are enough. I have two favourite cameras and they are not the new ones. The Sony A-900 (A-mount optical viewfinder with 100% of the frame) and the Konica Minolta 7D 6Mp CCD APS-C sensor that luckily still works, incredible colours and forces me to think very carefully about composition because with 6Mp there is not much margin. I have many other cameras but I use the A-900 more and the others less. A camera that surprised me and that I occasionally use with a 12-42 zoom and a 45mm prime (90mm full frame) is the Olympus micro4/3 EM_5MkII, it really has certain advantages due to the sharpness of having a smaller sensor and without losing too much light quality compared to a full frame.
A6300 since the A77ii is more of a photo focused camera and sony's mirrorless cams are more capable of doing both really good. Since you commented 3 years ago, which camera did you get in the end? 🙈😅
bro so clear your video any tips to make it clear ? cuz everytime i see alot of youtuber they might not have good clear quality on 1080p but when i search and found you i saw your video so much clear. Really appreciate if you share some tips :)
Aldeasm Deasm thank you bro! I‘ve made a video about that: „Higher QUALITY through upscaling!“ watch it and you‘ll know why my videos are so sharp and clear ;) Hope you enjoy my upcoming videos aswell!
I was misinformed. The box of the A77II says 4K and has a XAVC-S format that is similar to 4K as its the highest recording format. I own the A99II as well and that shoots 4K. If you want 4K features, get the A99II.
just get the newer mirrorless cameras from sony or some other brands but not those older gen cams because mirrorless is where the industry is heading and they killed the A-Mount series as far as i know.

Totally right about that. The last semi-professional A-Mount camera since that mount is dying.

Which is better to shoot video ...sony a77ii / canon 70d / or pentax K-70 ?
I would recommend the Canon 80d. 😁

Should i buy it today?
I wont recommend it in todays day in age. Since its kinda old now.
Compared to a7s? Maybe i should go with a7s

Greyzone Media should go with Canon 80d or with this for beginner photography ?

@@pascalbraendle I take it you've moved on from the SLT/DSLR form factor?
@@WarriorsPhoto yes i have. It's the future at least what sony is imagining. Their A-Mount lineup is completely dead. Nothing new.

Nope, it's an old camera system which sony doesn't support anymore hence why they're launching a lot of different mirrorless cameras since 2015.

Konica mount is't not compatible with A-mount, when Minolta and Konica became Konica-Minolta it made cameras only in the A mount .
