My first trip to NZ was last October. I loved it. I rented a Toyota RAV4. RAV 4 was good. You are right the New Zealanders are in no hurry to get anywhere. Very courteous and respectful drivers. Hey, slow down and relax.
Love this Pete, when I first left the UK, I lived in Taupo. Now in Rotorua about 55 minutes North. Nice to see your take on it - hope you come back before too long, you need to visit the leadfoot festival.
Stunning country and you're right, South Island especially Queenstown is very special. Lucky enough to do it last year on the Lions tour. Obscenely expensive place though.
Hi Ped They say variety is the spice of life, Goodwood to New Zealand, I reckon that qualifies.we missed out on a trip to NZ a few years ago with fellow Morgan owners owing to family illness, but what you have shown matches that trip, fabulous country, great people. However did not envy your ski trip! Looking forward to part 2. Have fun.
Hi Peter. Amazing you came to NZ. Gutted to have missed you. I bought my S4 Avant partly because of your review. If you come back to NZ through Auckland let us know. Can show you some sights.
Greetings from Colorado! Well... Your heart's in the right place. But if you ever get the notion to come over to the colonies Tuskegee, you need to avoid New England and specifically Vermont and New Hampshire as, rarely, is climate change more visible than during ski season there... Rain is a frequent bedfellow compounded by the ice it creates. You have a lovely Spirit, Peter. And I find it infectious and always look forward to your posts.
Can't believe Pete your down in NZ, I've just moved from NZ back home to UK! Would have loved to show you around! Be careful speeding in NZ, the Police can hide in bushes (legally to catch you speeding and there are plenty of static camera vans on side of the roads!
Welcome to NZ, hope you are enjoying it :) I once drove over the highest road in NZ in a Nissan, no chains - didn’t realise at the time you could get fined a few hundred dollars for not having chains 😏. ps watch out for speed camera vans, basically they look like builders vans broken down on side of the road 😀😀 If you make it over to New Plymouth I’ll shout you a 🍺
Hi Alex. I have absolutely loved my time in NZ. I can't wait to come back and carry on exploring. I need to see the South Island 👍 When I come back I'll take you up on that beer 🍻
Petrol Ped South Island certainly steps the scenery up a notch. You need to speak nicely to @audiuk www.audidrivingexperience.co.nz/audi-ice-experience/
I was all set to comment that the skiing conditions were nothing compared to what we get in Scotland but that looks truly awful, I would have spent the day in the huff in the cafe :)
Correct side of the car Correct side of the road Metric speeds........wtf? Isn’t it strange how countries put their own swerve on things - roads & transport in particular. Whether you sit on the left of the car, driver on the right side of the road and have imperial speeds like the USA, you have good old Blighty’s rules (obviously should be the World standard.... lol) , Europe’s many many rules and then you have Oz & NZ. To top it all off how about Burma - you may recall an episode of Top Gear where the drivers seat is on the right of the vehicle and they drive on the right - even passengers on buses have to get out into the middle of the road. (Que Jimmy Greaves) It’s a funny old game......
A beef steak or lamb steak with cheese? We all know what the NZ'ers are like with their sheep!! Nothing wrong with Samsung 'phones!! Who was the serial killer you picked up!? :-)) I've been told, don't eat yellow snow. But blue snow!!?? What do they drink in NZ???
Pity you couldn't hire a decent car, but sadly the insidious SUV poison has well and truly infected the NZ market so drivers cars are becoming rare. I should have loaned you my Mazda 6 MPS.
Nice one, it reminds me a ski trip to Switzerland Interlaken 12 years ago, miss so much that times, you know so young so beautiful.
You getting miffed with the sat nav was brilliant.
Best Car channel on UA-cam along with Harry's Garage. Awesome work Pete. Hope to catch up soon.
Oh Wow, thank you ! I love Harry's Garage too 👍

I'm back home now. This vid went live while I was on the plan home :-)
More of those tunes please.
Okie Dokie !
You’ve got to ask why Frodo didn’t just hire a 4x4 to get to mount doom !.
That skiing looked like hard work !.
It was grim !
I'd love to go to New Zealand, lucky guy. Got a few distant relatives there maybe I could bribe them...
You must try and get down here !

Hey mate when you coming to Sydney Oz like all the other kiwis
I'd love to. I need to get planning an #ozvlog!
Great video glad you've liked what you've seen &experienced so far of NZ. Just gotta work on your pronunciation of the Maori names 👍✌
I know...Plenty of work needed in that department ! I love hearing about the Maori culture 👍
Petrol Ped loved the video of the Tongariro walk..great effort & just majestic with it watching over the valley.
80 KPH is 50 MPH the Nissan should be fine with that LOLZ

Beef steak and I'm impressed with the 80 quid phone 😂
So amongst other things you had a ruined steak pie and upgraded your phone 😁
Yep 😂
At least it didn’t erupt that would of really ruined your day
Wait till part 2 !!!!
If you are into sking try gulmarg in Indian occupied Kashmir you won’t regret it
It’s called skiers paradise
Wow...sounds cool !
The reason the speed limits are what they are is for tourists who are busy looking at the view...
LOL...Some nice blind corners out there !
Gavin Ivers , while driving on the wrong side of the road.
2nd.....damm
Paul May 😂
