Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique is the greatest album of all time. Light one up, sit back, relax, its a masterpiece. "Shake Your Rump", "Car Thief", "Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun", "Shadrach", "B Boy Bouillabaisse", "Hey Ladies" are worth listening to.... in regards to live footage, their Glasgow 99 concert that aired on MTV back in the day is incredible, a super tight high energy set. There are lots of versions of the performance, the best quality footage on youtube is named "Beastie Boys - Secc, Glasgow, SCO 03.05.99 (Full HD / VHS Upscale)" uploaded by "VHS Rock Archiv". Trust me.
Live in Glasgow. Hands down the best live performance the Beastie Boys ever put out. Mix Master Mike opens the show with his mind blowing cuts then the Boys blow the roof off for the next 45 minutes
I would recommend either "Car Thief" or "Shadrach" from this album. Live but for the tonight show the following is pretty incredible "Beastie Boys Perform "Ch-Check It Out" From The Subway To The Stage | Letterman" They do a tribute to Jam Master Jay and do a cover version of "Sucker MC" by Run Dmc here "Beastie Boys live performing Sucker MC's" To be fair I listen to a lot of rap and for a long time and Beastie Boys live even on an off night are better than 99% of live rap. No backing track, good audio, very clear. I think you could [ick almost any performance.
Live in Glasgow is excellent as is their performance at Madison Square Garden, in fact any live performance. Oh do look out for their performances on Soul Train.
This entire album is a masterclass in music. I am a crate digger and I learned so many samples from 60's and 70's music across many genres from this album.
car thief next for sure- also shadrach has a painted video that mca somehow painted into a live video of them doing the song live if that makes sense-look for that song and an animated looking video
They put this album out themselves, engineered by The Dust Brothers (who also did Ton Loc's album). It wasn't big at the time but I LOVED it. It really showed that they had charted their own course instead of being managed into a pigeon hole like other acts at the time.
car thief, shadrach, b-boy bouillabaise, just do every song on the album, there are no duds. it is actually much better than license to ill. the beats are better the rhymes are more experimental, it is their best album, and likely the greatest rap/hip-hop album ever made. it is the citizen kane of rap albums. way above all else. only PE and the Wu can compete, but the beasties were way more consistent.
When this album came out many early fans (who only liked "fight for your right" didn't like this album because they expected another Licensed to Ill but the Beastie Boys don't play that game - they do what THEY want. Later this became most peoples favorite album. It sure changed the rules on samples legally going forward. Nobody could afford to do this album now - that is the Eagles "Those Shoes" (sampled at the beginning. Try that now lol
This isnt one of their better examples of the overlays, as you described it. There are a lot of songs where all three are saying a couple words of each bar and it’s seamless. They were very skilled at this.
Pauls Boutique - my opinion the BEST Beastie album - based on total material start to finish.
Yep yep yep... and check your head is just a step below... and they was albums... play them from the 1st song to the last... over and over and over...

Was my favorite back in the day. They were ahead of their time with the beats and layering of instruments and lyrics. Their beats were insane.
Bass was sampled from the Eagle’s song Those Shoes. Brilliant
the bass ? the whole drum break too
B Boy Bouillabaisse on Paul’s Boutique is probably my fav
The album is a total masterpiece. IMO one of the best albums of all time.

I LOVE that performance they sing 3 songs featuring 64 songs
Us: turn that music down I can’t hear the song I’m thinking of
Them: hold our beers😎🍻✌️🖖
I'm only a couple years into Beastie Boys great reaction. As far as Paul's Boutique Looking Down the barrel of a gun is my favorite.
The highlights of "Paul's Boutique" are the whole mother-lovin' album. ☮️
3mc's and 1 Dj, live 1 take, piped in as their performance for the Mtv music awards, no crowd, but 100 percent Hip Hop from concentrate
The Eagles Those Shoes is the whole groove.

Their best album, no question. SKOL!
Listening back to this track so many years later reminds me of the story telling on Paul Revere. So good!
Their live performance in Glasgow 1999 is frickin fire
Live in Glasgow is excellent as is their performance at Madison Square Garden, in fact any live performance.
Oh do look out for their performances on Soul Train.

I'm a big fan of the first 15 or so songs on this album. Try Shadrach, Sounds of Science, Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun, Car Thief....
They just recently uploaded a new video done live during the Letterman show. They sing "so what -cha want" and " 3MCs and 1 dj"
Just watched this a couple days ago. They came out on fire on this performance!
Eggman! Also sounds of science both off of Paul's boutique
This whole album are 🔥 Paul’s Boutique is hands down their best album
Their most underrated song
This album is up there with thriller, abbey road and purple rain. Its a masterpiece.
One of the best rap albums of all time, start to finish.
That’s what I keep hearing!
Paul's Boutique is the Beastie album. The one they made for themselves. Amazing
This entire album is a masterclass in music. I am a crate digger and I learned so many samples from 60's and 70's music across many genres from this album.
Hot wire, hot meal, and Suzi is a head banger...
Dope track
Paul's Boutique is one of the top 5 hip hop albums ever created.
You should react to skills to pay the bills Live!! Thank youuuuuu ❤️ for reacting to the GREAT BEASTIE BOYS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
the first time listen, you HAVE to hear it from the beginning to the end. Every song flows into each other, and it's an amazing Album!
car thief next for sure- also shadrach has a painted video that mca somehow painted into a live video of them doing the song live if that makes sense-look for that song and an animated looking video
Filmed live at the Country Club in Reseda, CA in black & white. Painted by hand.

Eggman!!! You better do Egg man by the Beasties ASAP!
Check out hold it now hit it, or live in Glasgow
For some reason I always imagined this was the continuation story from Paul Revere

Paul's Boutique is the only good album ever made by anybody.
You have to hear the album front to back. There will never be another one like it. Legally you literally can't make it
When this album came out many early fans (who only liked "fight for your right" didn't like this album because they expected another Licensed to Ill but the Beastie Boys don't play that game - they do what THEY want. Did you ever heard of Rammsten with her song Deutschland? Your mind will explode😂
MAYBE I’ll check it out
