    Awesome comfort food. I make mine about the same. Love lots of black pepper.

    This was the recipe I was looking for. I've made similar years ago, but needed a refresher. If I add any noodles, i fix them separately and add them into portions, so they don't get mushy when refrigerated, i make a big batch of this stock soup. Delicious!

    Thank you very much! This is the recipe that goes in the 3x5 card recipe box - just like mom and grandma did in the good the ole days...

    I wanted to pop in and say thank you for the video!. I went off of this recipe and added a few little things I liked from my grandmothers turkey soup and it just worked out so amazing, it was my first go of it and it really turned. Out me and my daughter even made a fresh bread to go with it. Thanks again Ry.

    I cook mine the same except I cook egg noodles separate with butter on them then put them in my bowl and ladle soup on top that way the noodles dont get mushy.

    Huge pot of soup. Looks great, how do you keep the egg noodles from going to a disgusting mush after a day in the fridge? There has to be a better noodle. Or rice? Barley? What about it? Any suggestions?

    Looks like a twin to my "turkey frame soup" which I got out of the "Better Home and Garden" cook book YEARS ago. I modified the recipe with a jar of Ragu to replace the tomato sauce and spice's.
    KISS always work's best.

    Well my friend I think it is fair to say you have covered Turkey from soup to nuts over the last couple of weeks. Nice job🦃. BTW there is a restaurant near San Luis Obispo called McLintocks which is famous (infamous) for their appetizer... Fried Turkey Nuts. Might want to add that to your repertoire 😉

    what happens to the veggies used while making the stock? Why do we have two batches of veggies?

    • @CookingWithRy
      @CookingWithRy  2 роки тому +1

      The veggies used while making the stock give up their flavor in that process.

    We are having Mexican turkey soup tonight to celebrate US Thanksgiving. The turkey (George) was smoked for Canadian Thanksgiving on Oct 8th. His frozen carcass will be used for the soup stock.
    My Better 7/8 ths doesn't like carrots either.
    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

    I don't like carrot pieces in my soup either. Don't like the texture of carrots.The way I found to get around that is to finely grate carrots and add to the soup and cook until the grated carrots fall apart. Does give the soup a funny color but taste great.

    • @CookingWithRy
      @CookingWithRy  6 років тому +1

      I think my wife would still find those with a magnifying glass. She's like a bloodhound when it comes to cooked carrots :)

    HELP, is the broth I boiled down fat?..? It looks like fat after a day in the fridge

    • @CookingWithRy
      @CookingWithRy  5 років тому +1

      If you have too much fat, that's the perfect time to skim off the excess after it's solidified on the top of the broth after refrigeration.
