- An 11 year-old girl, home alone, called 911 saying a group of men were breaking into her house. Ashley Bermudez recalls the terrifying ordeal as she ran up to her bedroom to hide while on the phone with the 911 dispatcher waiting for help to arrive. Investigators say the men got into a stolen car and sped away, crashing into a flatbed truck nearby. A man and two juveniles were taken into custody and have been charged in this case. Meanwhile, local officials are praising Ashley's courage. #InsideEdition

I keep thinking about all the things that could have gone wrong.... So glad she's alive and safe! Ugh it just really makes me afraid to have kids in this world! You never know what or who may be after them or what incident that may randomly happen. This is such a wicked world that we live in.

"i wont say anything, i promise!" i teared up a little. Thank god he was protecting her and that these men at least had some sense and didnt hurt her even tho they could have easily done it. She was very blessed.

They ask 911 what’s your emergency you say if you can’t talk long they track you all they need to know is what happend.

All the dispatcher needed to know was what was happening, that men were breaking into her home and an address to give the officers. Every extra question just put the girl at more unnecessary risk. The fact that the men found her location and she had to plead that she wouldn't tell anyone, proves this fact. Luckily the men had some humanity in them.
Not sure it would had been nice to hang up the phone though. I thought it was nice of her to stay on the call. It's also the girl's decision. She could have hanged up the phone if she wanted to.

^Well I'm a nanny and I've babysat children older than 11 before so yeah it's not strange to think she should have had someone else around . even-though I never had a babysitter when I was in grade school because my mom never though about danger at our house but I know a lot of parents who refuse to leave their kids alone despite being preteens or not.
