    Visited the place several years ago prior to its having the walkways installed and access restricted. Got lots of great photos.

    Such a cool place! I love your drone shots. I learned about it many years ago when I first started working in TV. A co-worker of mine lived in the Caledon area and told me about them (and hardly anyone knew about it back then! Long before my blogging days!). Things have changed over the years, but I am glad that they closed it off to protect it from people walking all over them. I've been back multiple times and it never fails to impress (especially in the fall!).

      Thanks Lauren! I’m happy they were able to find a way for us all to enjoy it going forward. The landscape is so cool and we wouldn’t want to see it harmed from human forces.

    this isn't the grand canyon or even close to the size of the national parks in the usa, it's a small outdoor area that you can't walk on, but it does have a very pretty autumn view great for a photograph, the hike through the forest definitely worth it, dislike the time limit, informative brief video

      Thanks for watching and for your comment! I agree that a fall visit is likely the best time as the colours really add to the landscape. A short visit yes. Part of a day trip to the area I’d say.

    Glad I was able to walk there before they closed it off. Don't worry when I was there it was respectful but I actually was able to climb on the hills and check it out in person rather than from a distance.

    I've been meaning to visit this site for a while, and it seems like just something for a 'pit stop' while passing through, so I'll get to see it sometime, on some mission, somewhere.
    On one of your videos you did about Elora (which was great!), I'm surprised you missed out on their "Monster Month" which is held in October, and there is a lot of things they put on. I just learnt about this myself a week ago; during the whole month of October the town also gets decorated in really weird or spooky installations that get lit up at night.
    It's not a big town but worth checking out if anyone lives around the area!
    If anyone has more places worth going to visit during the fall (hopefully spooky), I would like to know!

    • @seeusoontravel
      @seeusoontravel  3 роки тому +1

      Yes I’d say it’s something to tack on to a day with other activities planned in the area. You get 1.5hrs on site as per their new registration system and it’s definitely more than enough time. I didn’t know about Monster Month is Elora! I did see all the decorations when I was there but now I’ll have to go back to really experience it 😊

      Sadly no, the roads around the Cheltenham Badlands are a no parking zone and the police patrol frequently.

    I guess the last time I was there was before 2015. Since there was no boardwalk and no cost I think. Is the cost only due to COVID?

    • @seeusoontravel
      @seeusoontravel  3 роки тому

      I think there has been a cost for parking for a while now but the reservation system and limited numbers is because of COVID.

    It's hilarious that people are exclaiming over this "natural phenomenon" and "scenic wonder"....It was caused by poor farming and overgrazing. It used to be a wooded hill. So after ruining the area you put in a parking lot and boardwalk and charge people to see it!!! If you enjoy this view you really should put Chernobyl and Three Mile Island on your must see list.

    Calling Bull$hit on the European settlers "destroying the topsoil". What is the proof of that statement? These kinds of badlands can be found in various places in North America (large areas in Alberta and Arizona) and are natural landscapes from long-gone ancient rivers eroding their banks, NOT from white man destroying the topsoil. Honestly!
