- Are you a collector of stuff with too many projects and too little time? I rescued this dresser twice...and gave it a beautiful makeover with Debi's DIY Paint and Iron Orchid Designs Transfer "Wallflower."
Debi's DIY Paint and Iron Orchid Transfers are available at www.ellenjgoods.com
Those sacrifice pieces going out the upstairs was awesome!! Don’t fret Lynne will go to the mat for the good stuff!!!
I literally gasped when I saw those pieces being thrown out to their death! 😳 Great job on that dresser! 🌸
After awhile, it’s just the norm around here! 😂 Thank you 🙏
I know. Why not donate it to someone who could use it. Seems wasteful to me. Gluttony is not just about food.
Yeah, my husband would have flown out that door right after that first piece of furniture. *Turned out gorgeous, btw!
Ha ha! Fortunately, it was a broken down old display place! I keep close tabs on his "organizing!"
Oh my gosh! My heart broke seeing the furniture fly out the door. 😭😂 Great dresser. I love your work. 💕
Carts & Millie no worries! It was an old display piece that had seen better days. 😉 Thank you so much for commenting!
I’ve been waiting to see you since Debi started talking about you. 👋Stunning dresser!
Yay!!!! I’m so glad you’ve followed! I do lots of FB lives, too! I hope to see you here again!
Love that dresser. The next time he is throwing out pieces I'll come catch them. Great video!
Thank you!!!! Lol! There are probably furniture pickers that lurk around the back of our shop like seagulls waiting for scraps 😂
Wow!!! What a beautiful, amazing, fantastic transformation!!! I love that dresser. You have great vision. But I do agree with the others, I about died too when those pieces were thrown out the window....ugh, so sad. But what beauty that dresser became, like a butterfly! Great work Ellen.
Thank you! Ah! The thrown furniture. It was an old Walmart cabinet that we used for display in our store.it was cut up , falling apart and well, not a good piece. We even offered it to a few local businesses and they didn’t even want it .😊 trust me, we would never throw away good furniture. 💓
@@ellenjgoods LOL! I believe you. We thrifters are always thinking anything can be saved but that just isn't true for somethings. We trust your judgement Ellen if anybody knows what can be saved or not its you! Hugs
@@snuggleb100 such a fun video to do .
That back door is actually street level for our shop so rather than trying to get trash and boxes down the stairs, we toss it out the door💓
Ohh my.... my husband and I are JUST like you two! I have multiple projects started, plus a bunch of stuff in our barn that I beg my hubby to not get rid of, lol! I just happened to find a Facebook video of yours today when I was searching for something, and when I clicked on your store link, imagine my shock when I saw that you are only an hour away from me! I have a high school friend who owns a store in Medina. I'll have to check out your store when I get to her place!
It sure does keep things exciting doesn't it? LOL! Oh wow you are not far at all, we would love for you to come and visit sometime. What is your friend's store? Thank you so much for being here with us!
@@ellenjgoods I'm in Perry-Castile area, so no, not far at all. My friend's store is called Filomena's Favorites. Sadly, in all the time she's had her shop, I've never been there- I never find myself anywhere near Medina, but I'll have to make it a point to go now that I've got two places to visit!
Debi's Design Sent Me. Love your video and story.
Lori Boyer I do appreciate you following!!! Thank you!
After my panic attack in the beginning, I really enjoyed watching this video! Lol! I love how you and your husband make such a good team balancing your strengths! I really love how this dresser turned out & video style. I love Debi's DIY paint! I haven't tried the IOD transfers yet, but I know I will in the future! 💗💜💗
I’m so glad you recovered!!!! Thank you 🙏. They are beautiful products!
Gorgeous Lynne !!! What a team you and JR make !! 😍😍

I’m so glad you found us, Laurie!!! Thank you SO MUCH for commenting!
Gorgeous dresser. You are soooo funny. Love your video. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tammy Woods Thanks Tammy! Just keeping it real! I’m so glad you subscribed!
I was like OMG look at those great pieces of furniture being thrown out the window....nooooooo I said to myself. But after watching this video I had to understand lol. Beautiful work, I'm here from watching Debi's latest Friday live and now am a subscriber. I can't wait to binge watch. And I agree with others, what a great video style, you draw us in. Thank you for your talent and this piece of furniture is GORGEOUS.
Just Di ..... fortunately, this was a much used old pressed board display piece that was already broken and couldn’t be remade into anything purposeful. Thank you so much for watching!!!! 😊
What an awesome video! My brain is like yours n my husband is like JR. I have a few pieces in a spare room that need to be prettied up but I just haven’t been inspired yet. I love love what you dis with this dresser! Gorgeous!
Thank you Lourdes!!!! I’m sure lots of us can relate!
I do anywhere from 3 to 5 projects every weekend. You have to wait for paint to dry so I start several pieces then finish them the next day. But I definitely get them done by the end of the weekend
Jessi8074 Right? That’s how I am! Different pieces in different stages! I think it’s a great system ! 😂
ellen j goods plus you get to show off more pieces at once 😂😂😂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Jessi8074 yes!!!!
I subscribed from Debi's channel yesterday after hearing about you on her Friday live video. Omgosh! Freaking out at first with furniture flying out the back door crashing!! But what a CUTE video!! And..I loved the credit card technique. I gave you a like and shared with my bestie. We both love all the fun of painting furniture and learning new ways to be creative🌸🌸 Thank you!
Carolyn Lunel 😂😂😂 I really do appreciate your feedback! I’m getting ready to post another video very soon!
Yay I came from Debi too great video 🥰
laura Rivera thank you so much! I’m excited to share lots of good stuff!
I love how this turned out!! Beautiful!
One of my favorites!!! Thank you 💓
This video made me nervous because I could relate a little too much! Great work!
We are kindred spirits!
New sub here...love the dresser! I love DIY paint. I have painted so much of my furniture. I’ve used cardboard dragging on my surface...and paint knives. I like the credit card trick too! Great video, thank you!
Debs thank you so much!!! I’m new to this paint but I’ve been having so much fun with it!!!!
Its beautiful Ellen! 😍
Just the right color and transfer.
Frieda Schnell thank you ! I’m glad you like it!
Loved your video!!! It turned out beautiful!
Junk n Gypsy thanks so much! We just sold it yesterday!!!!
Great video, Lynne!
Patty Levine thank you so much! I really appreciate you commenting
I can soo relate! Lol... I’m not married anymore but I remember my ‘was’bund making me put back shells and rocks I found on vacations until I could carry them myself. I’d like a husband that didn’t limit me but I’d probably do better to find one like JR to keep me straight! 😂. Loved the dresser and video! It inspires me to finish something in my basement and start my channel. :)
Angela, trust me...we have our moments! Ha!!! But pretty much we have a cooperative agreement when it comes to our stuff. I sure do hope to see your video soon!
Great video.
Thank you so much Charlotte!
It’s beautiful!1❤️❤️
With Love Tere thank you so much!!!
Beautiful🌺🌸
Annette Thrall thank you ❤️
be still my heart!!! Death of the furniture!!!!
Stacey Dean 😂😂😂😂 It was an old display piece that had seen better days RIP
Lovely!!
Thank you! 😊
That paint technique of just smearing some here and there is great! Does DIY paint stick to shiny ceramic so that the piece is durable? I have a ceramic pot that I want to use as an outer pot for my African violets. Just the outside would be painted, but the piece needs to resist occasional drips. What do you think?
Yes it does!
I almost lost my breath while watching the furniture fall to the ground... 😢
OMG! I ADORE you... I could not stop laughing 😆.
You have a new sub here. 🥰🥰🥰
Savvy designs by Dena you made my day!!!! Thank you, thank you!!!!!!
Good job! I literally have three project pieces and that’s it!
What does the name of your business mean by the way?
Elsie Lane Boutique thank you! Oh my gosh, always lots of projects!!!!!
My husband would be looking at divorce if he threw out anything of mine!
😂😂😂 I hear you! We definitely make the de idiom together 😊
I think it would be nice to set the unwanted pieces out for others, rather than breaking them. ❤️
My heart was in tears. Lol
fortunately, this was a much used old pressed board display piece that was already broken and couldn’t be remade into anything purposeful. Thank you so much for watching!!!!
Wow I'd flip out and go Karen on my husband if he dared do that. That's just mean, really good piece of furniture going off the balcony.
Actually, it was not a really good piece of furniture. It was a pressed board display piece that was not good any more. We actually checked with other local retailers to see if they wanted it and everyone passed. I promise you...we've been doing this for 20 years. I don't throw away good pieces. And, actually, my husband is not mean at all.
I'm sorry, but if my husband did that he would be out to the curb with the furniture. It is probably a good thing that I am still single.
😂 Fortunately, we’ve got some balance ... not that I haven’t felt like tossing him out every once in awhile 😂
@@ellenjgoods lol!! 💕
OMG LMAO
betty jones 😂😂😂
Why is the world would he do that, it was really hateful
My husband is not hateful, and we always consult with each other about what stays and goes. That piece was an old pressed board display piece that could not be used any longer. Thank you for watching.
