    About Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA):
    Beijing Capital International Airport (IATA: PEK, ICAO: ZBAA) is the main international airport serving Beijing. It is located 32 km (20 mi) northeast of Beijing's city center, in an enclave of Chaoyang District and the surroundings of that enclave in suburban Shunyi District. The airport is owned and operated by the Beijing Capital International Airport Company Limited, a state-controlled company. The airport's IATA Airport code, PEK, is based on the city's former romanized name, Peking.
    Beijing Capital International Airport is the main hub for Air China, the flag carrier of the People's Republic of China, which flies to around 120 destinations (excluding cargo) from Beijing. China Eastern Airlines, Hainan Airlines and China Southern Airlines also use the airport as their hub.
    Beijing Capital added Terminal 3 in 2008 in time for the 2008 Summer Olympics, the second largest airport terminal in the world after Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3, and the sixth largest building in the world by area. Beijing Capital International Airport covers 1480 hectares of land.
    Beijing Capital has rapidly ascended in rankings of the world's busiest airports in the past decade. It had become the busiest airport in Asia in terms of passenger traffic and total traffic movements by 2009. It has been the world's second busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic since 2010. The airport registered 557,167 aircraft movements (take-offs and landings), ranking 6th in the world in 2012.[3] In terms of cargo traffic, Beijing airport has also witnessed rapid growth. By 2012, the airport had become the 13th busiest airport in the world by cargo traffic, registering 1,787,027 tons. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beijing...)

      You can get around Beijing without English, should be no problem. Just make sure to always have a name-card of your hotel, etc. you wanna go with you! Some Chinese basics is always helpful though! It will make people happy when you can speak a little bit of Chinese. Also you might wanna subscribe to my second channel LANGUAGESCHOOL.ROCKS to learn some basic chinese sentences. Hope this will help, there is more basic sentences to come in a few days!

      Yes sorry I meant you can get around Beijing without Chinese. Take a travel chinese guide (book) with you though. And I can highly recommend the APP called PLECO. It is an offline chinese-english dictionary, very useful. All google programs, FB, YT, etc. won't work without a VPN. Yes always have a seperate copy of your passport with you. It will help a lot in case of loss or theft. I think there won't be any problems with theft in the Hotel rooms, I even consider Beijing much saver than Paris for example. On the entry card just tick the option "Travel / tourism" if you have a tourist visa if you are not working in China or visiting someone there. You only need double entry if you plan going outide of Mainland China, like Hongkong or Taiwan, Tibet or other asian countries.

    Despite what some might say, this was actually a very helpful video!! I had no idea about the new fingerprint scanning and everything. It’s also nice just to see the surroundings such as the Starbucks and getting on the plane. so thank you for taking the time to do this!!

      That is really interesting, thank you very much! You know, good coffee in China is something like a luxury! People don't have a coffee everyday like we do in the west. Maybe they only have a coffee during the weekend and then take pictures of themselves. It is still something really special, so Starbucks can offer the coffee for high prices.

    Hmm I thought this was supposed to be an informative video on passing through Beijing airport. All I learned is that you like bad coffee. 90% of the video was you walking around providing no information other than you have to go through immigration and get fingerprinted, which is common in several countries. I just wasted 6 minutes

    Servus, muss man eig. die arival Card auch ausfüllen bei nem Transit weil ich da nur umsteige und weiter nach Japan fliege? Und weist du wie das mit dem Transit da so abläuft? Und ob das Gepäck durchgecheckt wird das ich es einmal in Deutschland abgege und erst wieder in Haneda Tokio bekomme alles mit Air China?Und super Video:)

    • @saarland2china
      @saarland2china  5 років тому +1

      Servus, dein Gepäck geht normalerweise direkt durch zum Zielort und du musst des nicht mehr in Peking holen. ch fliege auch oft mir Air China. Am besten du fragst dort wo du dein Gepäck aufgibst nochmal nach. Wenn du in PEking nur umsteigst musst du glaube ich keine Arrival Card ausfüllen, weil du dort ja keine Aufenthaltsgenehmigung hast. Bin aber nicht 100% sicher.

      Seit ich nach China Fliege fliege ich NUR mich Air China. Es ist eigentlich das correspondant zur Deutschen Lufthansa. Service und Sicherheit sind top und der Preis ist im Vergleich relativ hoch. Nur das Essen ist Standard. Einige Chinesen haben mir auch gesagt sie mögen das Essen dort nicht so sehr. Aber das Essen im Flugzeug ist mir egal. @@kaaninTHEKING

    How are Starbuck prices in China compared to prices in the US?

    • @saarland2china
      @saarland2china  5 років тому +1

      I don't know, because I am German and I have never been to the US, but I think it really depends on the location of the Starbucks. The Starbucks in Shanghai might be very expensive compare to the Sturbucks in Harbin. But I have the impression that prices are almost the same. Fo me I think is it FAR too expensive.

    As soon as I arrived this guard grabbed me by the arm and physically moved me to a checkout station. All in total silence. My last memory of that airport is being surrounded by hooligans who demanded I pay money for cab services i neve used. People ignoring what was going on and no security intervention. Had to give themj 100 dollars to get away. The previous day a taxi tried to take me far from Beijing when the hotel address was right around the Beijing airport area. Only let me out in the middle of the highway when I threatened to jump. Then the driver begabn cursing and looking for a fight. Next day they shifted gates on me and made me lose my ride. I finally decided I was better off comming back to the USA.

I bought a plane ticket from New York to Bangkok(Thailand), I will have to make 1 stop in Beijing Airport for 2 hours. will it be enough time to catch my next plane to Bangkok. I'm not sure if I will have to go through immigration or apply for a visa at the airport, etc.

      you don´t need apply for visa when transit only. I have been in Beijing many times, stop over and often 10 hour + but still i count as a transit passenger as long i stay in terminal.
      2 hour is very good time for change flight there, no problem.

    Hi, I have an international transfer flight arriving Beijing from Jakarta on 26 December (holiday peak time) in terminal 3 and departing in terminal 3 to Sapporo with only 1 hour layover, will I make it if my flight arrives on time from Jakarta? Thanks in advance

    • @saarland2china
      @saarland2china  5 років тому

      Well one hour is not very much, but it should be enough. Just make sure that you don't waste time and just hurry up a bit. If you are lucky there won't by many people queuing at the Arrival Check in. If there are many people queuing you can still show your ticket to some foreigners and ask them to skip a few people. If you have like just 20 people in front of you, 1 hour should be enough, don't worry. But you definetely should proceed fast to all check-ins.
