Frailer: "check out my clawhammerin'!" Banjo player: "oh ya? Check out this pickin'!" Frailer: "oh ya? Check out MY FIDDLE PLAYIN!" Banjo player: "oh ya? I'M CHEWIN' GUM!"
I have heard that the origins of this song are unclear. Some say it was called Angeline The Baker while others claim it’s about a girl named Angeline Baker. It doesn’t change that these folks killed this song though!
Well it's not about anyone in particular; it was just composed for the minstrel show. But the main idea is character is singing about a slave girl who's been sold.
Who would I get for the guitar. Molly Tuttle. Check her out if you don't already know her. You performance, though stands alone. I was dreaming guitar break, which I do because I'm a guitar picker. Keep pickin'. Thanks.
@@philbank I discovered the Banksters a while ago doing their thing in Nashville Jam's "Lodi" I fell in love with their style ...and looks. Soon after that I discovered they were disbanded...Thank God for good old UA-cam! There still with us!!!
Everything great except the clapping at the beginning could definitely live without that great job other that the clapping just wait for your part then go bless you all
No, the Banksters. But that family is awesome, not a day goes by without hearing at least one of their songs. Truly The Petersens are a breath of fresh air in these years, and represent the best of Missouri and middle America
Love That Claw Hammer Banjo!!!!🌹🌹
It's not called a claw hammer banjo her style she's playing is claw hammer the banjo is an open back

Thank you!
Greetings from Nelson, Albemarle, and Amherst counties in the great Commonwealth of Virginia.
Best claw hammer and 3 finger arrangements I've ever heard! Wish I had the tabulature to the guy playing 3 finger.
You all absolutely killed. One of my favorite tunes, and I don't think I've ever heard a version I like more than this one
wish they were still performing as a family
It’s so nice to see the sisters back performing, beautiful!

Perhaps Angeline Baker was indeed a magnificent baker. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it
And it makes a damn good fiddle tune
Great tune!!!! //Lars
Awesome awesome awesome, inspired by the music and George B's remark.
Truly ,come on now has there ever been anything as lively and demanding as old claw hammer banjo

Very nice ladies!
Ich grüße meine Klasse aus dem Musikunterricht
For the female banjo player…what is the open tuning she is using? She is capo Ed in the second fret but what is the open tuning without the capo ?
She used a standard open G banjo tuning. We played that song in A.
looks like doubleC
Me gusta esa violinista wa
The Baker's gone!

That girl wore the hair off that bow!
Would have been so much better if someone knew the lyrics of the song. I should imagine some one in the band learned by now

The Petersons?

Petersens, by the way.
Doesn't need a thing...but a guitar break would have been nice. Loved it.
If you could have guitarist play a break in that performance, who would be your guitarist?
