"Favor the shooter" is their way of explaining something called client side hit detection. In most shooters they use server side hit detection. That is, when you shoot, you transmit coordinates to the server, which the server then checks against the coordinates it has the other player at. This is what causes hit desynch (think Gears of War 1 when you had to learn to lead your enemy or watch your shots go right through him but still miss). Overwatch uses client side hit detection, where your computer/xbox/etc checks your cursor position versus the position it has the opponent at and then transmits a hit or miss based on this check. 9/10 times, if you have a reasonable internet connection this works better. It also works MUCH better if your frame rate is at least he same as the server tick rate (so MUCH better on PC than xbox or ps4).
Actually the server reverts time back for individual clients to check whether it's a hit. Giving the client the power to send the info "yup, totally hit that guy" to the server makes it too easy to hack without being noticed by anti-cheat software.
Abdullah ibn al-Eibrowz it was, the server side was updates at 60hz, but the client side was only 20, it is 60 on both now. (its what they call high bandwidth servers)

Roadhog is actually the least picked tank due to him being the worst, only slightly behind D.va. Both terrible tanks, okay flankers/dps but still, bad tanks.
Also infuriating when you're mercy trying to fly to a far away to a teammate and mid guardian angel you get hooked by a Roadhog who wasn't even aiming at you
Roadhog is actually very weak in high elos, but what bothers me about his hook combo is that he's still allowed to do it when they removed Geni's ability to do the same exact thing (right click - melee - dash)
His involved canceling a melee attack, Roadhog does no such thing. Roadhog's combo is (Long range) right click>Hook>Left click>melee. (Short range tanks) left click>Hook>left click>melee. Or the very simple Hook>left click>melee. Genji's dash interupted his melee for free 30 damage. Roadhog melee's after a shot (Anyone can do this) and cannot cancel the melee combo.

The mcree ult nerf was mainly a high level pro thing, like most mcree's would use their ult to make everyone run away then cancel it giving him 50% back so he would ult like every minute or so.
Seraphin the game isn't broken the characters are regularly adjusted but as a league player I understand that its hard to balance these kinda games it just about adjusting the meta so that every character gets the chance to shine IMO and it doesn't cost £40 maybe it cost $40 or something but its like £20/30 here and its almost always on sale. the game isn't perfect but the dev team are amazing they put a lot of work into everything including the lore and cinematics and support the community. its an overhyped game but its not a bad one, its a really good one tbh

Your #10 is not a bug. It's actually a mechanic Blizzard uses called 'favor the shooter'. For example: even if, in your screen, you ran behind cover in time, but your opponent, due to latency, still sees you NOT behind cover, he or she can still shoot you until your character, on this screen, heads to cover.
You do indeed mention it's because of lag, but it's not YOUR lag, it's your opponent's. Plus, like I said: not a bug, so it shouldn't be in this video. :)

There's a bug where overtime runs out even though you're in the middle of the point. Lost a fucking competitive match because if that yesterday. Team was an inch before the objective line, but no I obviously didn't count as a player on the point and the dumb 1 sec overtime duration spontaneous fucked off.
There are times where i manage to get onto the point with Junkrat, Lucio, or D.Va in the hopes of extending Overtime, managing to get rid of the last enemies defending it, and landing right in the middle of it as the screen states my defeat. Like, no. I was in the middle of the point with no enemies around me. Give us a few more seconds, we're literally right there. 2 more seconds to win the game, tops.
Yeah, this is complete bull when it happens. A few days ago we lost a comp match on eichwnwalde because it stopped contesting when we had our dva standing legit ON TOP of the payload

4:10 The climb mechanic means you can't be travelling up (e.g. when you jump or genji dash upwards) to climb, you have to be static or falling in order to climb. (Static is when you're on the ground and falling is when you are travelling downwards, literally, not being in mid air)
He was on the wall when he jumped, there also has to be a gap when you go towards the wall. You have to be travelling downwards and can't already be on the wall.
what about playing torbjorn or mercy and when you try to change the weapon you got locked onto one. The killcams can actually be explained by the low tick rates of servers. Case in point is CSGO demos. WHile matches are played in 64tick (MM) or 128tick (pro matches,Faceit, etc) the demos and overwatch cases play in 30tick meaning things can happen where on screen the bullet is fired and THEN the rifle flicks to the right and on to the head. Same goes for overwatch. Hanzo flickshots someone but in killcam it shows him shooting and THEN flicking due to the low tickrate. Hope this cleared shit up (still annoying though)
Fa Mulan It's just an extreme case of favor the shooter thing. Snipers shoot you through walls too but it doesn't seem as absurd as Hog's hook because it's not that obvious if it really is bullshit or not.
The grappling hook is so relatable, im trying to learn widow in QP and literally had to go to a custom game to figure out the mechanics of the grappling hook when i first started

The best part about roadhogs hook? It's inconsistent when you actually pull them too, because sometimes the Tracer I hooked will be plopped in front of my gun, other times she can be friggin 8 feet in front of me and not die to the shot which is perfectly centred on her...
Man, there is another thing that rages me about lucio. I have about 122h of lucio and do parkour all over the map, sometimes this wallride is not that consistent. I slide on the wall and the game decides that I can't continue and I just fall. I used a different point of contact, but the game said nope, you can't wallride on this anymore. Its so rage inducing, specially if I am running alway from the enemy.
Those are not bugs though. They are solid objects that Reaper is still meant to be able to teleport on. I was assuming you meant something like teleporting into areas of the map otherwise unable to access, some of which can auto-kill you or make you stuck.
GOD it's a relief to know I'm not the only one struggling with the wall climb thing, I was starting to think I was just doing something wrong haha. These are too freaking relatable
8:04 min: That pop quiz "Who do you think this hook is going to hit" reminds me of toon characters going fishing and pulling increasingly unlikely things from the water, like an old shoe... an anvil... a tin of sardines... the cardboard cut-out of a giant shark (which then comes alive and proceeds to eat the character). The funny thing about this, is that this was done Sept 2016 and the Roadhog segment is STILL the most accurate thing ever. since yesterday I got hooked as Mercy through our Winston, the Roadhog hook is definitely still accurate.

I haven't much experience the ultimate actually activating in full. What does happen is me being a bit late, perhaps. But I always do hear the rage (sound, whatever) and then I'm dead. Particularly for Winston as rage means health. So instead of living you die. Winston's "I have 1000 more HP" ability usually ends up being "I was dreaming of having 1000 more HP, and then I woke up, In a Grave."
The worst is when you deflect a projectile as Genji, but it still hurts you. It happens rarely but it does happen, usually with Reinhardt's fire strike

The fact that you chased after Mei and was close enough to her to be frozen is your own mistake. It's not about not having skill, you just screwed up. If a Mei jukes you, you don't chase her. Chasing by going around her wall ensures that if shes not running away, she has you dead to rights as she can start freezing you before you even actually see her. She's a pushover at medium or long range once her abilities are on cooldown.
Retz I do think that me is healing is OP tho. To be able to stop every fight and HEAL while doing so is OP. I would like it if you could somehow destroy the ice block or something like that
I actually just noticed why the hook didn't connect at 8:49. It is not because of internet, you'd've pulled her anyway, its because she blinked away. Well you might say: "the other clip she did too" but you are mistaken. The hook range from roadhog is 20m. In the clip on Hollywood the Tracer was barely 10m away from you. In Nepal she was almost across the map. If she had blinked to the left or more to the right (i mean not back into the room where you enter the sanctum but to the small stairs) the hook would still pull her. So thats actually not the fault of the connection or the "broken hook mechanics".

I feel you man, I got hooked after a Lucio on my team booped the enemy Roadhog off the edge, I was inside on the point in the corner and suddenly like Houdini, my team didn't even see me vanish. The hog peaked in, threw the hook at the same time Lucio booped him, the hook never landed, but I was dragged across the wall out the door and into the abyss. FML
My most raging moment in this game (if not raging, at least frustration), it is picking players as "Play of the Game" or "Play of the Match". Seriously, sometimes I see why and it makes sense. But when it's not making sense, and the person who did a lot better than the "play of the game" player, that's where it hurts.
Recently, I had my first encounter with the "Abilities that just don't" bug, and it just so happened to be with my ult, as McCree. I was locked on to three people, and I was just about to get a triple kill, but then when I clicked on my mouse, I could SEE him fanning the hammer, I could SEE the recoil of a shot, but no shot came out of the gun. No sound, no shot, no triple kill...
I think the reason the tracer that didn't get hooked at the the end of the road hog hook rage was that once she blinked, she was out of range of the hook but the other tracer that got hooked was still close enough to be pulled
I hate when I spend 2 minutes looking for a lobby, find one and before the game can even load the character selection, just see that red bar run across my screen followed by DEFEAT. When it cuts to the winning team none of them have even loaded in.
you've got to think of the abilities in overwatch like moves in a fighting game like street fighter. in a fighting game moves have start up frames, active frames, and recovery frames. when you get hit by a move in its active frames when your move is in its start up frames the opponent stuffs your move and gets a counter hit. makes sense.

The Widow hook thing is only REALLY bad because it's on a 12 second cooldown. The knowledge that a SINGLE failure will mean you sitting there, on the ground, staring into the sky, for 12 whole seconds...helpless.

There's a bug where overtime runs out even though you're in the middle of the point. Lost a fucking competitive match because if that yesterday.
Team was an inch before the objective line, but no I obviously didn't count as a player on the point and the dumb 1 sec overtime duration spontaneous fucked off.
There are times where i manage to get onto the point with Junkrat, Lucio, or D.Va in the hopes of extending Overtime, managing to get rid of the last enemies defending it, and landing right in the middle of it as the screen states my defeat. Like, no. I was in the middle of the point with no enemies around me. Give us a few more seconds, we're literally right there. 2 more seconds to win the game, tops.

4:10 The climb mechanic means you can't be travelling up (e.g. when you jump or genji dash upwards) to climb, you have to be static or falling in order to climb. (Static is when you're on the ground and falling is when you are travelling downwards, literally, not being in mid air)
Rai he was literally falling on the kill cam, still didn't climb.
He was on the wall when he jumped, there also has to be a gap when you go towards the wall. You have to be travelling downwards and can't already be on the wall.
its still a stupid mechanic its a fast pace game you should not have to go through a checklist to make sure you can climb a dam wall.

The killcams can actually be explained by the low tick rates of servers. Case in point is CSGO demos. WHile matches are played in 64tick (MM) or 128tick (pro matches,Faceit, etc) the demos and overwatch cases play in 30tick meaning things can happen where on screen the bullet is fired and THEN the rifle flicks to the right and on to the head. Same goes for overwatch. Hanzo flickshots someone but in killcam it shows him shooting and THEN flicking due to the low tickrate. Hope this cleared shit up (still annoying though)

Man, there is another thing that rages me about lucio. I have about 122h of lucio and do parkour all over the map, sometimes this wallride is not that consistent. I slide on the wall and the game decides that I can't continue and I just fall. I used a different point of contact, but the game said nope, you can't wallride on this anymore. Its so rage inducing, specially if I am running alway from the enemy.

Those are not bugs though. They are solid objects that Reaper is still meant to be able to teleport on.
I was assuming you meant something like teleporting into areas of the map otherwise unable to access, some of which can auto-kill you or make you stuck.

What does happen is me being a bit late, perhaps.
But I always do hear the rage (sound, whatever) and then I'm dead.
Particularly for Winston as rage means health. So instead of living you die. Winston's "I have 1000 more HP" ability usually ends up being "I was dreaming of having 1000 more HP, and then I woke up, In a Grave."

The fact that you chased after Mei and was close enough to her to be frozen is your own mistake. It's not about not having skill, you just screwed up. If a Mei jukes you, you don't chase her. Chasing by going around her wall ensures that if shes not running away, she has you dead to rights as she can start freezing you before you even actually see her. She's a pushover at medium or long range once her abilities are on cooldown.
Retz I do think that me is healing is OP tho. To be able to stop every fight and HEAL while doing so is OP. I would like it if you could somehow destroy the ice block or something like that

I actually just noticed why the hook didn't connect at 8:49. It is not because of internet, you'd've pulled her anyway, its because she blinked away. Well you might say: "the other clip she did too" but you are mistaken. The hook range from roadhog is 20m. In the clip on Hollywood the Tracer was barely 10m away from you. In Nepal she was almost across the map. If she had blinked to the left or more to the right (i mean not back into the room where you enter the sanctum but to the small stairs) the hook would still pull her. So thats actually not the fault of the connection or the "broken hook mechanics".

I feel you man, I got hooked after a Lucio on my team booped the enemy Roadhog off the edge, I was inside on the point in the corner and suddenly like Houdini, my team didn't even see me vanish. The hog peaked in, threw the hook at the same time Lucio booped him, the hook never landed, but I was dragged across the wall out the door and into the abyss. FML

My most raging moment in this game (if not raging, at least frustration), it is picking players as "Play of the Game" or "Play of the Match". Seriously, sometimes I see why and it makes sense.
But when it's not making sense, and the person who did a lot better than the "play of the game" player, that's where it hurts.
Recently, I had my first encounter with the "Abilities that just don't" bug, and it just so happened to be with my ult, as McCree. I was locked on to three people, and I was just about to get a triple kill, but then when I clicked on my mouse, I could SEE him fanning the hammer, I could SEE the recoil of a shot, but no shot came out of the gun. No sound, no shot, no triple kill...

I think the reason the tracer that didn't get hooked at the the end of the road hog hook rage was that once she blinked, she was out of range of the hook but the other tracer that got hooked was still close enough to be pulled

I hate when I spend 2 minutes looking for a lobby, find one and before the game can even load the character selection, just see that red bar run across my screen followed by DEFEAT. When it cuts to the winning team none of them have even loaded in.
you've got to think of the abilities in overwatch like moves in a fighting game like street fighter. in a fighting game moves have start up frames, active frames, and recovery frames. when you get hit by a move in its active frames when your move is in its start up frames the opponent stuffs your move and gets a counter hit. makes sense.

The Widow hook thing is only REALLY bad because it's on a 12 second cooldown. The knowledge that a SINGLE failure will mean you sitting there, on the ground, staring into the sky, for 12 whole seconds...helpless.
