This is without doubt the best teaching video of any kind I've ever seen. Warts and all. Learning from your mistakes makes it easier for us! Time for another attempt.
Thank you so much ,Dan. I have learnt a lot how to use GarageBand from your tutorial. Before this I have studied by myself but it took a long time to make a song. Now I can make it more faster and better than before , thank you again , Dan.
I share the sentiuments of all those who praise Dan Baker. The quality of instruction, mixed with some comedy, certainly has advanced me in three days what I failed to do in three years. Not only on GB, but also as a musician. His demeanour is brilliantly helpful, pleasant and the depth of his knowledge is amazing. I am very glad I came upon his videos, and agree that he should have a vastly bigeer subsriber list. I will do my part to help it grow.
Excellent tutorial, you are an amazing musician, thank you. I use Garageband on my Ipad when I'm away from the studio and it's amazing but also when I get back to the studio I can open the project from icloud into Logic Pro X and carry on with it which is amazing to be able to do, so well done Apple for the continuity.
Absolutely awesome video Dan, your musicality and musicianship are A sharp! I have used CUBASE for many years, I never thought that Garage Band was such a creative tool for song writing, your explanations and demonstrations leave no details out. Even though the video was an hour long it was worth every second watching. Thank you. Can the velocity settings on the keyboards be used to Control the touch sensitivity while playing the Rhodes or any other piano?
Been enjoying this so far but when u get when you my friend get to the bass and I’m smiling ear to ear....this is amazing start to finish I learned ..... as well you are just good at this... great voice great talent and personality
Thanks Dan for an excellent tutorial. This reminds me of back in 1970 when I would use a Sony TC-630 reel to reel recorder to build songs by bouncing the left and right tracks to get sound on sound. Of coarse I would end up with tape hiss and a mono recording but I had fun doing it. Today with all the advanced tools it would be very easy for me to build great songs, but I just can't play as well as I did when I was 24 years old. But I still can enjoy watching you exhibit your craft, Great video.
Nice! I had an old Tascam 4-track and it was the same sort of thing though less restrictive than a single two track. It was another universe for me though and I use modern kit in the same sort of way. It’s very easy to get carried away with numbers of tracks and effects and all, but the bare bones of a song are all that’s needed!
You are amazing...gonna take me sometime to get to your level.. I have done some garageBand recording but not quite as extensive as yours ..thanks this was very informative
Hey Dan,you are a great talent. You are a great teacher and of course a versatily musician. You know that you have also a very nice voice!.!?!?!??I was a professional musician, now retired and a iPad dummie. For me this video was a fantastic lesson.I learn alot.Thank you very, very much for your work!!!!!By the way do you give also video lessons ,payed of course!??If yes I like to subscribe to your Garageband recording courses.Thank you very much .Keep up your good work.
I remember in school the best teacher I ever had, the one who lit the spark in my mind said “ it’s easier to learn something when it’s a subject you’re interested in.” So he allowed me to learn from books on the mafia, and even music I brought in. I think if you would do these videos while recording a version of more popular, modern songs it would drive your subscribers up. I don’t claim to speak for others but for me, it’s always that the GarageBand vids are usually about songs I would never listen to. I wish you would do something more modern .
Chris S what would you like me to record? I usually steer away from chart stuff but I’m of course up for doing something! As you may be able to tell, I’m a blues jazz soul funk kind of bloke...
Hi Dan, when you refer to your “tie-clip” mic is that a specific brand? I have just been using the mic which is built into the Apple earphones to start out with, as I get to utilize your excellent tips, and it works surprisingly well. Also great video and you have a beautiful voice!!
Dan Baker no waaaay, Dan! I thought you did it from someone’s humming)) greetings from Moscow! Keep it up, I find your work helpful and wish you get some dough for all the work that you put in.
This is without doubt the best teaching video of any kind I've ever seen. Warts and all. Learning from your mistakes makes it easier for us! Time for another attempt.
