god he had SO MANY CHANCES to deal with those mines. he could've literally recalled his whole army to do it and still been in a winning position. I chalk that one up to nerves

Maybe he just ran out of gas after the first victory so he just wanted to finish it quickly. Even a single SC match can be very tiresome especially on higher levels.
The real battle was Widow Mines vs Observers.
The Bio vs Stalkers was just a show.
Casters in game 1 say the DT runby needed to deal damage to production or workers to be really worth it, killing off depots was not good enough. But TY hits a supply block at 131 just 10 seconds later because he lost so many depots, and it takes a full 45 seconds before new depots finish and he can resume production. Essentially halting opponent unit production for a full 45 seconds is totally worth it
also if you notice when the DTs do try to kill the production the marauders that spawn destroy them with a few scans and a little bit of micro...
That doesn’t matter. Killing the whole mineral line at the almost only remaining mining base would been 10x worth it nonetheless
So if Nice just backed off there at the end, he would have won.

Nice was too greedy in the second game there. Had he pulled back after killing a bunch of SCVs and the CC he would have had a huge advantage, and maybe even reinforce for a second push since TY's eco just went down the drain, he couldve won.
Mines killed Probes in return just as much as the surprise attack, yes, that's Terran in a nutshell, doesn't matter if 2 or 20 units attacked you, just do a counter drop mines and you win

@@VArsovski10 That's only if you cant think and let the terran just mine your base over and over and over, which was exactly what Nice did, despite knowing that the mine drops were coming. Having one cannon in the mineral line and a pair of stalkers chasing the medivac wouldve solved everything

@@snowdrop9810 in this case, idts. Even if TY immediately ran across the map and got the best engagement of his life, I think there'd still be too many round of production. that recall was so bad though.
@@snowdrop9810 lol Nice completely overextended losing his whole army and still got away with it. If Protoss is forcing terran to defend turtlestyle like that it's just gg cause Protoss takes multiples bases freely and easily gets to his superior lategame.
@@Foudzing Turtling is already a last ditch, try to live for a bit longer and hope my opponent fucks up thing anyway (or at pro level, get to 200/200 as its the great equalizer.

That one medivac with full energy was on the other side of the map dropping off the widow mines.
I don't know what to think about the first game in this highlight, but the second one feels like TY just absolutely shut down/outplayed Nice after he thought he had the advantage.
Its a pretty big upset that Nice was able to get a game vs. TY. TY being one of the best players in the world and the current GSL champion made the whole situation unique in terms of seeing if Nice could take the series.
It got very close
Nice completely threw second game all he had to do was making 1 observer and 1 stalker at home and try to deny second base etablshment, and he had a gigantic lead. He somehow let the mines get 3 shots each then completely suiciding himself on the small ramp, let TY get medivacs stim and concusive without retreating so he could easily chase stalkers.
EPIC LAST GAME! Surprised he didn't react to the mines like simply doing long distance mining!

@@LegionaireSoar I mean imagine having free scans 24/7 which are literally map hacks... no need to scout or detection. Imagine having a bomb that halves all protoss unit hp which is completely free but also takes away mana from high templar and makes archons useless. Imagine having that and then a bomb that disables units from attacking, imagine having that and the ability to stay on inexpensive tier 1 units, and they are now incredibly op... Imagine thinking terran is UP. Bitch race get nerfed.
And can you imagine if the thing terrans want nerfed is incredibly expensive, fragile, and killed with A scan.
Imagine move commanding 1 DT into enemy bases and 1 minute later it is still killing scvs and buildings. Ghost cost more than Dark Templar. Imagine looking away after sending out two DTs and the opponent needs at least 2 scans (at least 4 if the DTs are being controlled) and over 200 apm, literally four times the effort Protoss needs, and a guaranteed loss of at least 4 marines and a tank. "DTs are so expensive" fuck off.
