Oliveira's whole IEM run was a masterpiece!
The impressive part about it is that his run was basically as difficult a run as you could come up with. Reynor, Hero and Maru is basically... the second best zerg, the best protoss, and the best terran. About the only way you could make this run harder would be to include Serral in it, but its not like he got weak opponents off of other upsets happening around him, or winning off of having one really good matchup.
He earned this title by beating the best from each race. Which makes it even more insane.
@@redwings13400 To make it worse, he doesn't even have the same level of professional environment to practice in, unlike his Korean and European peers. Blizzard shutting down servers in China due to pure greed and arrogance is also a huge handicap as well.

@@GrippeeTV The part where he says he lost 0-6 in a tournament and his dad said that he was still the best player in his heart is the part that got me.

Oliveira has shown he can potentially beat anybody. But his consistency is still yet to be seen.
Oliveira marched right into Dark's comfort zone and purged him with extreme prejudice. Amazing casting!!!

I was actually surprised how good your video looked before you mentioned the tweaks. You guys did good. Usually youtube compression really kills quality.

I loved that moment, 4:50 , as Winter was commenting and said "as Time goes on", and had to stop for a split second to internally laugh at his own unexpected dad Joke.

TvZ of this caliber is what SC2 does better than any other game. The whole match is pure tension.

Three takeaways: Map control at the beginning stage, command centers for walls in the middle stage, and use nukes to force the attacking trench line to retreat, just brilliancy

Keeping Dark off the 6 o' clock base and even nabbing it at the end was the game winning move. Lurker/Viper is great at a war of attrition but if they lose control of the middle of the map it quickly becomes a losing position.

the crazy thing about all this is, he could not even play on Chinese server ; blizzard was slowly taking away all the support for SC2 in that region, He was forced to play Korea server Since 2019 and its all paid off for him. ! hat off to the man.
Facts. Chinese players play way differently than Korea, EU and NA and I think both him and Cure have gotten better from playing on the other servers

I, like most Chinese SC fans, did not expect TIME to win the championship. I have been watching SC2 for 10 years. 😢
This was my favorite terran play ever, if only bunkers were more viable and Oliveira built some this would be my perfect game.
Terran already have amazing base defenses between fly, turrets, planetary, and sensors. I think bunkers are balanced appropriately.

Fighting mass ghosts with mass fungal sounds weird, and weirder is it's the state of this game.
Dark... he realyl wanted to take the north base.. I think he should of swung down south and hit the cc when it came up since his gas revealed it to him, built a hatchery just off ramp or up and long distance mine nad gas from it... nobody watchign down there for awhile.. just seeing if someone is building thats it... not sure why dark was focused ona entrenched position with ol having high ground... Since that bottom base provides plenty...
Since the south is weak, if he can sweep south around and then west, adn the come up north... it owuld be easier ot break.. since it will all be common ground.. and ol wont rebuidl since there is no enough money, this would give him a clear advantage... over that area, since the minign will be far away, and on top of that some of the gas geyeser had minerals, bit werid for him to tap... there... his death pits worked well against the tanks, the hydras and abduct worked, well.... I don't liek to say it, but 5-6 ravagers would of been nice if he doens't have brood lords... teh ammoutn of times he hit those ghosts with fungal... and had no long range siege unit like the brood lord to clean them up... he could of killed out a bunch of ghosts for free..... time and time again.. I think brood lrods are zerg coutner to ghosts and tanks... before abduct... if he had like 4-5.. would of been nice... have the qwueens around, but yeah.. his focus point up to that location made no sense to me... south, secure those resources, pus hterran back, give up that position.... and then rotate in... limiting orbitals will slow terran mining and scans,,, and hten go back in to taht location... he was, imo at a winaable position most of the game, lol

To be fair they could right now and I wouldn't know I didn't really keep up with SC2. Seeing people constantly tap out in the middle of losing the first battle was boring me to death. Wasn't fun to play OR watch.

It turns out bronze leaguers were right all along, but just didn't have the skill to make mass planetary fortresses, nukes, and turrets work.

Are you invited to cast these games?
There are a lot of casters that do cast that are terrible. So it makes zero sense why you would not be casting the tournament unless you declined it
Does any pro Terran ever repair medievacs? My boy threw away like 1000 minerals give or take when one full of marines at 30 hp got shot down. It really just makes them look grossly incompetent and wasteful. You have the resources, you have the capacity and capability but not the actual willingness to do so or something lol. Whatever the repairs cost is neglible.
Another absolutely no brain strategy is having a fleet of medievacs with no energy. Why? Why is Terran OP but the players are horribly cost ineffective?
Edit: in hindsight the oy fix to both is either a baseline passive or an upgrade where if a medievac has like 50 energy or less every 5 hp repaired restores like 1.5 energy. Hypothetically, that is. Less need to argue cost effectiveness of repairing if it means having it basically brand new.
