Syd Mead was a legend. R.I.P
this dude is a mastermind.... and like Kubrick is prevy to inside info
Kubrick was an overrated hack who made pretentious trash.
Kubrick was the most intelligent movie director ever
@@knownpleasures but was he?
@@PlayNiceFolks yes
Agree
Looking now at the dawn of 2019, Blade Runner is not entirely far off. Increasing pollution, flying cars, megacorporations, the massive expanse of the internet, and the development of smarter AI is foreboding
Wow that's really clever...
The air quality in LA today is far better than it was in the early 80's.
Hauer also died the same year his character did.
I just love him 🥰
This is so amazing!!!! Thank u!!!!!
Another legend geordie, who makes unbelievable films
Hi ! I've sent you an e-mail concerning the use of this video for a personal project. Thanks for sharing this interview btw ! Blade Runner is one of my favorite films of all time :-)

A very, very accurate prediction 💯💭.. Our future is as Dark and cold and just the beginning of it😊...

Why does Ridley Scott play a role (either directs or produces) every movie adapted from the works of writer Philip K Dick?? Do they share a strong relationship...
Thanks for mentioning it didn’t know that. But to answer your question in my opinion it’s harder for Ridley to write a script as he is more a visual type of human as I am always looking for books interesting me and bring to life on a set as producer as he mentioned in the beginning of the video for him it’s harder to come up but once is there the pictures in his head pop up and he can actually start the film process. Watch raised by Wolfs great script and Ridley production!
1982 People believed what they saw back in the day... 2019 The same people modeled their vision toward a possible future. Maybe-maybe not but Ridley kind of pressed them into the mould.....
The Blade Runners have become a reality in 2023 in Bromley, Kent, England.

OMG I Just found a Treasure!!
"oriental" atmosphere ? among other things, could this be the many "orientals" in the crowd scenes and huge japanese commercials on the skyline ?
very British-looking chap
"...And are you aware of the NEW FOUND HORRORS... You have unleashed upon the world?"
Futuristic movies are usually so far off in their prognostications. They get lucky with some of the small things, like technology, but over-estimate the big ideas. Politics is the greatest wild-card that determines outcomes.
You can just see how focused and plugged in to what he does. There's no wishy-washy. But he does look like Ted Bundy hehe
AI, amazing how we can predict the future
This man is a GENIUS! Or was...
Was? The lastest things I've listened to is his commentary on Prometheus and Covenant.
Blazingly brilliant.
So Hong Kong and Moebius had influences on this film. I thought it was Japanese cities. Interesting.
His forehead though...
Typical British
