Really enjoyed y'all's video, your necklaces, but the one you did in demonstration was killer! Beads, everything about couldn't have been more perfect! Gorgeous!
That was a nice, informative video! I liked that you showed the breakage of the other point in there to add a little humor and to show what it's like to work with natural materials.
@DPelk... Breaking the piece is part of Flintknapping... It is best to laugh it off and move on... The knife making video also had a knapping mistake. We are used to it.
@DanJ... We do have a good time on our hunts and projects... Glad it shows... We will get another hunt in soon... Glad you enjoy the vids...! Thanx for the comment.!
Hi SenecaRelics! I'm that kid Jacob that talked to you at the FlintRidge Knap-In. It was so cool to see you guys there, hope to see you guys in the next Knap-In in the fall!
I used to do this kind of stuff all the time before I lost contact with my dad, now I don't do this stuff with him anymore and don't have the time because I got older which means more responsibilities. Maybe one day I'll try to do this kind of stuff again.
Hi Nelson I LOVE YOUR STONE ARROWHEAD NECKLACES SIR; SO BEAUTIFUL AND NEAT 👍👋😃❤️🤗 I JUST WISH I COULD OWN ONE OF YOUR ARROWHEAD NECKLACES; BUT UNFORTUNATELY I DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY ☹️☹️
Do you sell your arrowheads as is? I’m into wire wrapping myself, and I would LOVE a homemade one, not manufactured one. Thank you and love your videos.
Been trying to find beads like the ones you use, any tips on where you get them from? Amazing video by the way I want to start flint knapping so bad now ^.^
Incredible we have these tools today but hiw the Indians did it I cant figure out, I have a white quartz arrowhead in my picket rite now that my brother dug up in our backyard back in the 60s its from the 1800s
@Enrique.... We have often broken our points... This is usually a result of bending pressure.. We now use pads with a thin piece of wood glued to the back to prevent the "bending"... You may also have to pay attention to your platforms.. Having a platform too high on the point will cause you to have too much pressure and may break the point. A proper platform should release the flake with minimal effort. Good luck and let us know how it goes...!
@RMurray..... The next Flint Ridge Knap-In is Friday/Saturday Sept 1st and 2nd (Weekend before Labor Day)... Many vendors arrive earlier than that but the best of the event is the 1st and 2nd... The event is held at the Flint Ridge State Park, Brownsville Ohio.
@SuperC... As you can see by our vid that our method only works with notched points... If you watch the vid carefully, you should be able to do it yourself with just a piece of wire. LOL... But we would be happy to wire one up for you. Let us know.
I think people are too critical....these types need to just cool it. They push perfection to a point, no pun intended, where you start breaking your work. Then they laugh. Where they hang out are the knap-ins. The Indians didn't make them perfect.
the guy laughing the hardest, makes the video funny lol when you break a piece. Good that yall are having fun.
I've ordered an arrowhead to make into a necklace and wanted to see how to do the wiring for it! Super clear video thanks guys! 😊
Thank you for sharing, even the mistakes (just shows you are human) and it was a good laugh 😊. Love your beautiful work.

@NancyF.... We started flintknapping in 2008... Our first attempts were quite horrible. We have gotten better at it over the years.
Ok cool I just got an obsidian arrow head and ima make one fore me
everytime i break one it seems like i grip the arrowhead to hard, currently I'm trying to develop my own technique to help me prevent this.
