These are beautifully made thank you for showing the how to video I've no living elders to show me so I pick what's possible for me to learn my heritage again thank you
Doesn't it seem like Nick is one of those guys that has a crazy natural talent for making things? Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he puts in a ton of time practicing his skills, and that's obvious. It just feels like something that would take most of us years to be good at, Nick could be that good in a month lol.
Nick, thank you for sharing your talents! You are a good teacher too, without being too informal - a good quality! I admire you for all your skills. How did you learn them all? How did you make the pinepitch glue? Thank you again!
Andrei Gotia Thank you for the kind words! I've been blessed with a lot of teachers! I'll usually teach myself and then meet someone who has something to teach. As for the knapping, I mostly learned from the members of the Puget Sound Knappers. They put on several free knapp-ins in the Pacific Northwest every year. The pine pitch is just pine sap, some powdered charcoal, a little beeswax, and rubbed cotton fiber. My older batches used dryer lint, which works fine. You can also use rabbit or deer poop.
Hey nick. Just wanna say that your videos are amazing and you are awesome. I think you should try to compete on forged in fire. You would win definitely. Let me know what you think.
I would be very happy if you answer me to my previous question and I really love your creations you are just an artist and I want to know how to do these things like you
question if you made the back of the arrowhead with any kind of an edge and you impacted something hard would it split your arrow and would you be able to make the back of the Arrow Head flat so that if you impacted something it would just be flat to flat surface
thank you! you are realy good at making things you should sell some of the things you make and get extra cash their so good they look like you could even sell them at a store and i love your voice its awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-)
too bad you don't ship to belgium, i would have bought one knife and a pendant. they look very cool. guess i'm gonna have to learn and make one for myself :p
I find obsidian out at Glass Buttes in central Oregon. It's out in the middle of the desert, but it's worth the trip if you're nearby because there are chunks of obsidian like the one I'm using everywhere on the ground in flows and piles. If you want bigger stuff, most of it is just a couple feet under the light desert soil. Here are some directions: www.pugetsoundknappers.com/events/2016%20Glass%20Buttes%20Knap-in%20Announcement.html Other than that, most rock shops will sell obsidian (if you're near a volcano) or slag glass (if you're near a refinery) for a few dollars a pound. Hope this helps!
BackyardBowyer I'm from Serbia but thanks, it helps, I didn't know rock shops sell obsidian or slag glass. Btw can these arrow heads be made of metal because I want to make some arrows for my homemade bow?
Brilliant idea adding charcoal to make it look like pitch. Thanks for sharing.

He's already giving away the knowledge of how to make these things yourself, at no charge.
Don't be greedy.
+Skeletor Jopko Not being greedy and you're absolutely right. I was only asking.
Very nice, love the symetry, By chance, do you ever experiment with any methods of attaching heads without slotting through grain?

You could make a massive sale out of these
how much do you want for it and pleade andwer me
If I want to buy from you one chain like this, you do overseas
What if I fall while wearing it while i do my daily exercise.....and I get stabbed. xD
That almost snapped when you widened the shaft
you look like a very nice guy
can you do a tutorial on Flint arrow heads
He did
Give me a link
I think he's only used obsidian
it should be the same concept with some minor differences due to material but you should, overall, be able to use the same types of methods.
+Howel Octavion Flint is way harder than obsidian. you can't break it of like that and still have it be sharp.
I check a lot of woodworking handbooks. These one from woodprix are the best.
can you make a Arrowhead out of something else.
+backyardbowyer can it be a weapon
It is a little bit of a wast of a arrow head you can use that for a arrow
