If your Mr. Coffee Coffee maker is throwing errors ec1, ec2, or ec4 this might help.
Side note, please watch your coffee maker when Brewing after this reset. I am not responsible if your coffee maker burst into flames. I watched the entire first Brew after this reset. also I really have no long-term knowledge as to how it will work after this. Try at your own risk.
-------Story of how we got to this fix-------
Good Morning my Friends and Family,
So there was an Emergency this morning at my house....
(Coffee Emergency)
I woke up before my family as is normal added filtered water to my coffee pot, added a filter, loaded the coffee grounds (had to google 1 coffee scoop = 2 teaspoons... did you know that... news to me) and plugged in the coffee maker.
When I looked at the screen i see "EC1". So I googled "ECL" because I didnt have coffee yet... and could not find a way to reset an error code for a Mr. Coffee coffee maker. So like any good IT Technician, I unplugged the device, counted to 20 and plugged it back in. "EC2" Error displayed, mocking my failed attempt to create a caffine positive situation. I unplugged again, waited 20 seconds again and plugged it back in. Surely this time the small computer inside the coffee machine would reset and share its wonderful bounty of dark roasted arabica... "EC4"...UGH!
So back to the googles I go and none of the ERROR messages are documented IN THE MANUALS UNDER TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS.
*Note to Manufacturers: If you have error codes please include their meaning in the Troubleshooting area of your manuals. PLEASE.
Thats just one of my pet peeves, anyway, so I am googling around and everywhere I go I see "unplug the coffee pot for 5 minutes" well I'm not waiting 5 minutes for a coffee pot to not brew, so we're not doing that, but also if you unplug electronics, unless they have a very specific type of memory, all settings are lost after 10-20 seconds. So 5 minutes is unnecessary... I think....
So I google around a bit more and I am finding NOTHING. Everyone is saying, "Time to buy a new coffee pot"; which is fine for them, but I need coffee like 20 minutes ago, because most... thinking... systems... not working... coffee missing... please insert coffee and try again.........
UGH...
So now my troubleshooting brain wakes up and says, "None of these other systems are working in this human, and if we don't get coffee running, we're all in trouble, wife, kids, unicorns..." you get the picture.
So most Electronics have a reset that is a combination of buttons on the device itself. Usually this is used during Quality Assurance Testing but also used by Technicians to fix / reset errors.
So I try pushing the most obvious button "Clean".
This did not work.
Then I noticed the two largest buttons "Brew Later" and "Brew Now".
------SOLUTION-----
1. Unplugged the coffee pot waited about 20 seconds.
2. Pressed both buttons "Brew Later" and "Brew Now" and plugged the device back in.
All the lights on the screen were now lit.
I hit the "hour" button and the hour moved.
3. I hit the "Brew Now" button and it did not work. I hit it again and BINGO it started to warm the plate.
About 10 minutes later I had 12 cups of Arabica goodness ... God is gracious. #coffee #coffeeislife

Just held down both buttons (Brew Later and Brew Now) and it worked. Mine was Ec6 so thank you!

Si el código no desaparece, la cafetera no funcionará de nuevo y no será segura de usar.
Unfortunately it did not work but the two button holding down thing changed my screen from ec7 to ec0
After more power cycling I got it to work by holding down hour/min/clean buttons at once

Great, just a small update, after about 2 weeks my coffee pot started tripping the circuit breaker and I did have to throw it away. But glad you got coffee ☕️ 👍. Just keep an eye on it...
