People saying it's "Airbenders" no, it's the same flavour but with different twits. Etherealki can manipulate matter at a molecular level. They cannot create matter but they can use existing matter. They fall under the category of the "summoners". They summon matter. In Ravka, etherealki are a subcategory of people that are called grisha, they form the second army/little army and are color coded. You have squalers (manipulate air currents, meteorology etc..), tidemakers (water, humidity levels etc..) and inferni (not that they can summon fire, they usually create a spark with special gants that use friction to create a spark. Once matter is burning they can manipulate it at their will, they summon the flaming matter). You also have a rare kind of etherealki, shadow summoners and even rarer, sun summoners (light=> photons = energy). The light and shadow summoners are able to concentrate all that energy into a thin line and do "the cut". A powerful blow that can literally cut a group of people in half
I might be wrong but in the books the Darkling said any summoner powerful enough can use the cut. Like in the third book bagrah was teaching alina how to cut off a mountain top and said to focus on the light between and past the mountain and cut. So couldn’t any summoner use the cut if they just focused on the molecules they manipulate and like cut or idk how to put it.

Squallers can raise or lower air pressure to create storms, gusts, and manipulate objects Inferni summon combustible gases such as methane or hydrogen, though they still need a flint to start a spark. Tidemakers manipulate temperature to summon and control water Durasts, though belonging in the materialki, deal with solids such as Grisha steel, corecloth, textiles and glass
3:34 - Seven people, standing around like they're glued to the ground, doing absolutely nothing. It just stood out as incredibly obvious and immersion breaking. Other than that this looks interesting though.
Lol tbh s2 looks sooooo bad, i wasn't able to get pass epi 2...and after watching this im glad i dropped it... Not just the effects but the acting was just awful...😅
in the books the whole magic thing only becomes super special when Zoya was shown to able to summon lightning/thunder, wind, fire, water, solid matter, storms(hurricanes, blizzards) AND can also transform into a dragon... but the show seems to hate her sm so they butchered her character.
@@undertheseatv that's because season 2 covered the shadow and bone trilogy. what zoya can do comes up in the king of scars duology. i'm sure had the show been renewed, that would've come up then
Finally..They got someone who can control water...later maybe got a Grisha that can manipulate the earth🤣
they cant because everything in the series is based on the book
We have metal so that's the next best thing
@@xChaosFlower Even they also can control the iron inside the blood..which ferum...🤩
If I’m not mistaken that’s what Durast do
@@IcemegaNinja yes, they manipulate solid matters

@@pd28catyes, they summon already living matter into their hands
@@pd28cat only summoners summon their element. There is more to grisha than just summoning.

Just started watching this show. I love some avatar effects
We say that but… Isn’t the level they are doing it at Shyamalan’s Last Airbender level?
@@Frankie1622I was referring to the cartoon but this show definitely display the effects so much better than that sorry syamalan parody.
