  • Sights and sounds from a rural walk from the town of Hawkinge to the villages of Acrise and Paddlesworth - a distance of about 5.5 miles. It was warm and sunny for most of the day.
The tree with the white and pink blossom is a horse chestnut. I had no idea it flowered so impressively!
Filmed with an iPhone XS with a Shure MV88 external microphone. Edited using iMovie.
All audio was recorded on location.

Thank you. I'm really pleased with the external microphone. It is affected by wind noise more than I'd like - even with a windjammer. But it gives a much better stereo image than the phone's internal microphones.

Great job. Very relaxing to watch and very real. The lack of music makes it more in the moment if you catch my drift and the sound audio of the birds seamlessly flows over the video adding even more essence of realism and of being there. I liked all the shots but I did particular like the shot with all the sheep and the two dogs. Keep up the good work you have talent.

Thank you for your kind words.
The microphone I'm using is a Shure MV88, which plugs directly into the Lightning port of the iPhone I'm filming with. There's a bit more preamp noise than I'd like, but that's largely because most of the sounds I'm recording are fairly quiet.
It'll probably be quite a while until I encounter something as good as that sequence with the sheep and the sheepdogs. Totally unplanned - I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
