I wasn’t offended I thought it was funny he was like ya most guys are lazy I’m like how dare you call me lazy I’ve just been sitting around watching UA-cam that’s not lazy at all lol
Nice one Lisa, I’ve been watching you and Johns videos lately and I’ve learned a lot so thankyou both ...I’m 82 years old and just starting up in tropical fish (waiting patiently for the tank to cycle) I bought the Tetra 80ltr tank ..Many years ago I did have a fish tank but it’s all changed now and thanks to you two I’m learning the new ways .🇺🇸🇬🇧..Opps , I forgot to add I loved Johns manly tank lol ..Cheers both of you .
I honestly liked both tank setups. I have a mix of natural, planted tanks and fun, completely artificial setups and find all of them enjoyable in their own way.
I love how you and your husband are both into fish!!! :). Wondering if that was what brought you two together :) Sorry to be nosie. Thank you both for all you do !!!!
@@KGTropicals It never does!! My wife wasn't into fish at all when we met but now my house is like living at a city aquarium lol She has almost as many tanks as me. But, hers are all Decorated, pretty , community tanks.. While mine are mostly Giant, bare-ish, predator tanks lol.
I like the manly tank and that is what you call it. Lisa your betta is beautiful and his tank is great. I don’t have a green thumb for aquatic plants that is why you give me joy in watching you.
Well I think his "manly" tank was actually the lazy tank this lady (I can't remember names very easily) is taking her time and is being detailed rather than just going rocks, fake plants, cool wood, water, lots of product placement, and done. As a person who likes fish I would go with this video but if I was an office worker who didn't have a window and didn't wanna take 3 hours to set up a tank I would make mine "manly" ya know what I mean?
Very nice, I did something similar in my 10 gallon beta tank. I did white sand and a river from the left rear to center front. I used light blue gravel for the river, lined like yours with rocks, although much smaller ones. Used a sponge filter, one sword plant one banana plant a a big bunch of cabomba. The beta has 3 neons, an octo cat and 2 blue velvet shrimp. Tried the shrimp as an experiment to match the blue River and blue betta. It has been 5 weeks and so far he has left the shrimp alone. Have a blessed day. Oh, a great video.
Must say that I like the look of your tank much better than John's. Very good job and I would just suggest a black background to make it look even better.
Yay! I’m not the only person who has a male betta alone in a reasonable size tank! I’m learning so much about tropical fishes since I started watching your UA-cam videos! Especially bettas!! Thanks for being there. Kindest regards from Japan
I love the improved production level of this video. The new walking monologue is a really well done. Lighting is also very good. Keep up the great work you two!
I love both of your Betta tanks! I want to make one just like them. Thanks for the videos that inspire me!! George the Betta is such a beautiful Blue color, I'm so glad he has such a great place to live.
Though both video were great. That tank came out absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is kinda awkward and her voice is a little monotone. I think she is growing on me though. Loved the video!!!
Yep I have a Royal Blue spoiled fighting fish . In a 20 gallon a few Cory's. He's so happy. Thanks fir the information on a perfect diet. And lighting.
People are getting intimidated while I just want to see the betta get some tank mates. Lisa really is a gentle soul by the way she cares for Bettas. ☺️
I bought a baby betta at petco once, put it in my 20 gallon community tank, dang thing got MASSIVE, I’d never heard of king bettas until a couple months ago, my sister has a male dragon scale and my female king betta is 2-3 times his size
Lisa, I've engineered the perfect overflow design and have built the perfect sump system. For a reef tank. But you convinced me! I've been wandering lost, and have finally found my way! It's a 75g tank, it's going inside now.. testing all done.. and I'm putting one Betta in it! Just one fish, him! Think he'll like it? :)
Thank you sooooo much for making these's Video's!!! I absolutley love the information that you both bring to a new - comer like me that just fell in love with betta's!!! Haven't seen one before , then after seeing my first one , i just had to get one! Love love love the way the follow you and share love and emotions!! Deff my best friend. 57 seconds in: "Lighten up! 😎" I love it!! 🤣 I've already told my hubby that we may have to have our own tanks... And a shared tank, (to justify a larger size 😉)
One big difference between your aquascaping approach and John's (aside from artificial vs live plants) is that John had a cave of sorts under his big branch, where a betta could retreat to. You don't have any such hideout. How important do you think it is to have a retreat like that for a betta, especially when you have other fish in with him/her? I have a Fluval Flex 15, which I aquascaped with live plants wood and rocks. My first try with a betta had a natural retreat amongst some relatively large pieces of dark wood. I tried two female bettas (sequentially) in it; both were territorial and attacked the two other fish in the aquarium (platys). I returned both females and tried a male, but only after removing those dark pieces of wood and putting in two light pieces to lighten up the aquarium. The male never seemed comfortable, and would always sit on the bottom squeezed between glass and plants. He died after a few days. He had a lesion on his back, and I don't know whether this was from abrasion against glass, rock, substrate, or whether he was sick when I got him. Could the lack of a cave-like retreat have anything to do with his discomfort?
Now it’s two kings in one home! Wow... Wow... between nicely made video, I enjoyed way you setup the aquarium Lisa, thanks for such a wonderful video ✌🏼
I found this video now, 3 years after you made it 😅 However, I really liked it, especially since it showed me a perfect way of handle those smooth stones. I have some with about the same shape, and really like them but haven't found any inspiration for how to actually use them. All of a sudden I now know what I want to do with them!
Hi LIsa! I was wondering if you use lids for your beta tanks? I thought they were sort of a must to keep stuff from getting in the tank that might hurt fish. Also, I use live plants but they keep dying! 😕 They just turn brown and some of the stems rot. Sometimes the leaves just disintegrate! Your plants always look so lush and beautiful! Maybe its the substrate you’re using. I think I’ll get some and see if that helps. If you have any other thoughts or suggestions, I’m all ears!!! Thanks for the fun video! I enjoyed watching you scape your tank! 😊
Actually nah. If you balance it right you don’t get algae issues with a window tank. I have a 20 litre sitting on my window sill, heavy planted, one Betta, 5 amino shrimp and a snail. Running it for three years. No issues. It’s all about balance.
I like this pair of being informative for fishes.. i always watch your videos.. keep up the good work tne both of you.. from the philipines asia... thank you so much...

Dude. Same.
Yes me to
I am getting sick of people getting offended p
I think they are offended because they put their Bettas in Jars
Same
People were offended by John calling it a manly tank? Ignore those people, the less attention they get, the more they shut up.

It takes a lot effort to ignore everything and watch You Tube!
And the BETTA WAR is on.
I enjoy watching it
Thank you, at last a descent tank set up for a Betta. These fish love to explore and search around for food. I love this set up.
A descent tank for a man don’t you mean 😂😂

Gendering anything is dumb, but people need to get over themselves. He made it clear he wasnt trying to be one of THOSE people.
Beautiful scape and beautiful boy!
You have a gift for the aesthetics. Beautiful aquascaping.
I think both tanks look great. People get so worked up over the dumbest things.
For anyone who was offended by the other video - get over yourselves, removed the stick from your posterior and insert a sense of humour.

Forget people's drama. Its healthy & aesthetically well proportioned- very beautiful! Please post some clips after its filled in a bit.

So the takeaway is if you want an awesome manly tank, have a woman build it.
