Harley Benton SC450 P90 GT Review and Playthrough

- These are my first and second impressions two weeks after purchasing the Harley Benton SC450 P90 GT. I did not receive this guitar free from Thomann or receive any sort of compensation from anyone. I paid for this guitar with my own money, and the opinions expressed here are my own.
Yeah , I got the DC-600 . Couldn't afford the gibson version, 8000 dollars plus . Frets were perfect .
I just picked one up used in a trade, and I am extremely impressed with it.
The pickups aren't great, but for the price they're really not bad. I have a set of Iron Gear Platinum 90s laying around that I am going to replace them with, and those are a great set of affordable pickups (I've used several sets of Iron Gear pickups to replace the terrible stock pickups in a few different cheap guitars).
I have no problem with the binding just being paint, because...well, who cares? I did have the same issue with the premature ending of the "binding", and with the scratchy frets.
The tuners, bridge, and tail piece are all pretty damn good for the price, and not bad in general. I may replace the bridge at some point because I do have a slight rattle that is a bit annoying, but it doesn't affect the actual sound.
All in all it's shockingly good for the price.

Reverb has a us outlet for Harley Benton now. They dont carry every model but a lot of them.
Saves on time they sit in customs and the new hefty shipping prices. They ship free but cost more on the front end.
Just ordered mine. It will be here in a couple of days. I was pretty undecided in my choice, the other one was an epiphone Les paul special, but after taking a look around (forum, review and so on) i went for this one
And... for what I know the binding is a real binding, but made in plastic
It might be plastic, but it looks painted on to me looking at it up close just because of the way it ends near the neck heel. I could be wrong though. Either way, it’s a decent instrument and quite good considering the price point.
@@savannahalex specs on website talks about cream coloured binding on body and neck. Thursday morning I'll get mine and I'll take a close look. Maybe you're right. When I get it I'll ask thomann about that (pure curiosity) I'm glad it's at least decent

@@bushcry1 not a bad guitar, It arrived with set up already done. Binding is in plastic.
How is a new entry level Squire or Epiphone 150.00?
Just got mine. The pot knobs where not installed correctly, and one of them was broken, but otherwise the guitar is in good order and it was surprisingly playable right out of the box. Could still use a professional set up, but way more than expected at this price point.
Really? Send it back! Even at 150€ that's not cool.

Hahaha, right? As much as I love blues stuff, I didn't want P90s for that. I was looking for a sound that was a little out of control.

My God this looks just like a $10K Gibson
It's orange. I don't think it's proper gold…
They used to make a copper variant of this model up to 2018 or so.
Yeah, I agree. I have a Gibson gold top on the wall right next to it and there is definitely a difference in color. This one has quite a bit more orange in the paint, although the flake is gold metallic.

harley benton JUST came out with a new gold top sc 450 plus yesterday with a real gold finish they re did it it’s not cooper like this one anymore . check it out
Oh nice. That looks really good. It's a bummer they don't do the P90 version in that same finish.
@@savannahalex i agree it really makes absolute no sense as to why they would finnaly get the gold top right that throw a pair of humbuckers in it lol! just doesn’t look as good as those p90s but i think i’ll grab it the gold really pops
Ordering a B stock version for $106 :) A friendly tip? That microphone needs you to be very close to it. You are too far away. Yup, realized that after using this mic but was too lazy to re-do it haha. I normally use my Rode NT2A for voice stuff, but it's on a different stand for the vocalist I'm working with right now. I normally use my SM7B for a guitar cab mic. Hope you enjoy your HB. They're interesting guitars. Still trying to figure out how they do them this cheaply.

Well, nice effort. I'm kinda bummed w all the people who can barely play an instrument making reviews. If you can barely play, relying on tons of distortion and layered tracks, , people are not going to put a lot of stock in your reviews.
