Ranton excellent review! I can tell you actually played the game before you reviewed it because everything you mentioned is true and I have 50 hours in this game and I agree with what you said. The game does lack depth. What made Witcher 3 really good was the fact that you the player had the power to make all choices that influenced the story and quests, and I think that is what origins really needs. I think the game deserves a 9/10.

I personally believe the outfits being cosmetic is better because if there's a certain outfit you like, you don't have to worry about its stats and just stick with it. I hated the fact that the main armor in Skyrim was like one of the weaker sets, cause I wanted to look like the cover character art.
hm that's something that I still have a hard time with. For me RPGs r all about character customization. Good developers should try to make the better armor also look more badass. I can understand that u prefer to have a certain look but maybe we can find a comprise. Wouldn't it be cool if every outfit at least had some sort of unique bonus?
Crippled Cleric I think games could kinda solve that by doing something like what the witcher did where armor has different stats, but as you level up you can find the same armor with higher stats.

Conclusion(No spoilers) - AC origins doesnt suffer from cancer. It had a great potential and it definitely used all of it. It was a completely good rework of the series and i thoroughly enjoyed it. The combat is clumsy at the beginning but when you advance through the game you would definitely feel like a badass! Bayek was such an awesome character to play with! The world is not dead like unity or syndicate . There's always something to do, and the AI is really awesome. The minute details is something which i respect a lot in the game. They've added a lot of tiny details for the players to enjoy the Origins experience. The story is really good, and not disappointing at all. Even tho i do wish they added some more of it. Side-Quests are really interesting! They're soooo much fun to play!! Hats off to Ashraf Ismael and his team for making this game so fkin good!
I have to disagree about Unity and Syndicate having 'dead' worlds. Unity, despite all the game's bugs at launch looked incredible for all the crowded places. The indoor areas looked super realistic too with reflections and textures, i think they were using a new engine because i remember them really showing off some cool lighting effects. Syndicate... It's a bit gloomier but i specifically remember that it looks incredible in the rain, with the puddles on the roads etc, the fog & the smoke from the chimneys and so on... I don't think they've made a 'bad' AC world. They've all been really cool to explore, especially Syndicate for me because i'm from the UK and i saw a lot of houses and streets that you still see everywhere today outside of London.

Dan Maginnis, Unity and Syndicates world was very beautifully done. But there's nothing, absolutely nothing to do in that huge world. In origins, you could interact, kill, and enjoy the open world experience.
I was talking about the worlds, not the gameplay... But i really like AC games anyway so i still managed to get a good amount of hours out of them, I'm playing through the Ezio collection at the moment and then i'll play Unity again!

Ranton honestly, the fun stopped at the 40 hour mark...the rest of the things in the world like the camps started to get very repetitive..the tombs are GREAT, but other than that it felt like I'm going through a checklist just to get the Platinum trophy..the world is beautiful but just like you said "you just look at it"

Even in 2023, with DLC..this game is the best waste of 2 weeks of time It really does have it all and the ability to "Replay" without starting over is a HUGE plus in this game

They're very pretty games, expansive, but they're dull as all f*ck because of the wicked amount of pointless filler and fed-exing they stuff their worlds with. Would you recommend this game, if that was the main reason I stopped halfway through their older titles? Or do you reckon they've changed things up enough to warrant giving them a second chance?

3 years later and Origins has still bar none the greatest world I've witness in a videogame. I am not even really an assassins creed fan, couldnt even get fully into any of them after AC2 because the formula became too much. But this game, it's world makes what cliché's are left fully tolerable and I still hop in ever few months just to witness it again. Not to mention the DLC's were both great, Valley of the Kings one incredible.

one of the most beautiful games i've ever played, the camera mode is perfect however the sad thing is that characters were uninteresting and weakly written, so is the story anyways it was a great time in fantasy egypt
I like the characters especially Bayek. The story could've been great if only the pacing of the main story is good and not short. They put a 6 hours of main story and a LOT of side quests that ruined the pacing of the story because you gotta be this level to get to the story but you gotta grind and play all the boring side quests. Instead of feeling the anger and the revenge inside the protagonist because of the death of his son, we became an errand boy in Egypt.

3 years later and Origins has still bar none the greatest world I've witness in a videogame.
I am not even really an assassins creed fan, couldnt even get fully into any of them after AC2 because the formula became too much.
But this game, it's world makes what cliché's are left fully tolerable and I still hop in ever few months just to witness it again.
Not to mention the DLC's were both great, Valley of the Kings one incredible.

I like the characters especially Bayek. The story could've been great if only the pacing of the main story is good and not short. They put a 6 hours of main story and a LOT of side quests that ruined the pacing of the story because you gotta be this level to get to the story but you gotta grind and play all the boring side quests. Instead of feeling the anger and the revenge inside the protagonist because of the death of his son, we became an errand boy in Egypt.

RaineTCG dont know about his sexuality and IQ but his reviews are on point for me everything he mentions in his reviews are true and when he nitpicks things which I dont mind he shows that these things are there. If you prefer IGN reviews go for those 4 minutes reviews where every CoD gets 9.3 from them which is fucking bullshit. If you dont like ACG dont watch him. For me ACG and Angry Joe are the best for reviews for me and will stick to them even if ACG is a hidden woman with beard. While you will decide if this game is worth it or no by IGN standarts which is wrong in every aspect or by any other of those big shitty reviewers like polygon and gamespot...
