Hello, why did you start solving the equation from the right? I thought we first have to turn the -9x into +9x, but you wrote +8x

He said he tells his students letters on the left, numbers on the right. I tell my students to try to get the variable to be positive, so I would have added the 9x and gone from there. It works both ways :)

How is 3 - 9x + 8x = x?
I don’t understand why
3 - 9x + 8x = x? It’s not...-9x + 8x combines to -x, when I add a +x to both sides, you have 2x = 3, x=1.5
Go back to make sure you write the problem down correctly. If you did, then x=1.5
3 - 9x = -6 - 8x
3 - 9x + 8x = -6 - 8x + 8x,
3 -3 - x = -6 -3 add
-x = -9
-1 ÷ -x = -9 ÷ -1
x = 9
What you do to the left side, you do to the right side.
Hope you understand.
Do this with the box method, cause I don’t understand it as yet

It's like what's the point...it means nothing
9:05 why did you added -9p with -2p. Shouldn't you subtract them? Cause you subtracted +2p with -2p
When you have two negatives it means to add them and subtract a positive number from a negative number, for example -9+4= -5 or -4+9=5. hope you understand what I did.
